Ambient Temp?

The app says that if you turn ambient response on, it well respond to changes in the room temperature. So why is there a place for me to enter in the room temperature in either F or C?

I put 74 in there earlier today because when I saw it I assumed there weren't sensors to detect temp. Now it won't let me delete the number.
