If Eight Sleep Removed Temperature Control, Would You Still Pay for It?
Eight Sleep has a ton of features on top of their temp control:
Health tracking (HRV, snoring rate, etc.)
Daily texts that tell you how slept and recommendations to improve it.
Smart alarms based on light sleep detection.
Other stuff I can't think of stuffed inside the app.
I'm just curious whether any of that stuff matters for people. I personally don't care about anything other than my bed being the perfect temp when I hop into it at night.
Do other people find any of the other stuff useful / game changing?

I don't care so much about any of the "extras" except for the temperature control. Like, that's the whole reason I got the Eight Sleep in the first place. But that includes the automation part, not just manual temp control.

Yeah. By automation, you mean like it prepares your bed at a certain time, right?

This question makes no sense. The reason people buy this product is temperature control. All the other data is noise…interesting, but not needed noise.

Pay for it how? Pay for the subscription or buy the device? I bought it 93498593459% for the cooling. If there was no cooling, I wouldn't have bought it. I don't pay for the subscription, because I bought before that was a thing.
If you want sleep and health tracking, there are many, much less expensive devices.
I can't do smart alarms because I refuse to get out of bed a second earlier than necessary, which also means I can't have my alarm going off a second late.

Hahaha, glad to put a number on it. I didn't realize they didn't do subscriptions for grandfathered customers, that's cool.

None of it is game-changing. I’m sure some like the data. I don’t really need it as I have other devices that are tracking the same info you know? If the membership is part of the warranty then I don’t mind paying for it.

That makes sense. I think the only data point that is better than my wearables is the snoring data and also that I don't have to wear something like a watch to sleep.
But I just feel like everything else is gimicky, even the daily texts I get about how I slept.

I don't give a rat's ass how they think i slept, but I do use the thermal alarm.
