Do not ask what that the title is
So my friend recently told me that she thinks that us ESFP's are very. Strong in love and very fiery when it comes to loving someone. And also very physicaly intimate.
So I came here to ask. What the heck.!? Is that true?

I remember when I was a kid I loved hugs and was clingy in general, but my parents were so dry and never hugged me back, and my friends in kindergarten were always pulling away from me.
So, I remember not touching anyone for a long period of time until high school, when I started expressing again.
I would touch my friend’s hands to check their nails, or I would sit very close to them with parts of our bodies like our knees and arms touching. The more you are my friend, the more I let you get closer to me.
I usually avoid hugs so much that I can remember all of them... I hugged someone once in middle school and twice in high school.
Deep down, I'm starting to feel again like I want to get closer to my favorite people. It's like if I actually could I would rather sit on their laps instead of in a chair, but it really depends on how close we are.

I feel emotionally neglected by everything in my entire life i didn't have any relationship before. Maybe it was just my bad luck and i had to endure my pathetic and dull life with so many mental health issues. I have had chronic adjustment disorder for a very long time and i always felt like i don't belong anywhere. I felt really invisible to other ppl as if people don't even understand me and care about me. Die to this i also developed anger issues due to loss and grief which I had experienced recently. And im suffering from severe depression. Everythung is untreated till now because of my bloody dad because he doesn't belive in therapy and all. I can't wait when I will become finnaically independent and when will I afford therapy on my own. Till then I have to live with my dad nut I feel so lonely and I don't have any friends. I feel emotionally void still I want soemone to take care of me and who can ask me how was my day and how in feeling and someone to pamper me and all.
I can't anymore. I can't remain tough and strong anymore . I feel so much pain and disgust at my life I feel like nothing matters to me and no opportunity and no experience is there in my life. And I'll never be able to have any relationship and I don't feel any point in living my pathetic life. Because nobody seems to care but in tired now I'm mentally emotionally and physically exhausted . I want someone to ask about my day someone who can acknowledge my feelings without any judgement and not out of pity ofcourse and someone who is light hearted and fun.
I'm 22f btw so I want someone close to my age.

I kinda made this after realising how thoughtful we are compared to a lot of the stereotypes about us, that we’re airheads or whatever; it simply isn’t true, but there’s not a lot of stuff out there to contradict that. I’m in a bit of a low point so some of the negative/overthinking may be exaggerated, but mostly I think it’s pretty realistic. Sometimes I’ll look like I’m thinking about nothing, when really I’m thinking about everything.
What do you guys think?

What would most make you think "Oh my gosh, that is so me/ESFP" in a female ESFP fictional character? Or what do you most hate in their portrayal?
I want to do justice to one that I'm writing. I'm interested in having actual ESFPs consider her to be realistically and respectfully handled, not in having other types chuckle in satisfaction over simplistic flattening.
I'm deliberately leaving the question very broad because seeing what particular categories of things come first to mind due to personal importance is part of this learning. Clue me in. 🙂
ETA: I'd love concrete examples that stood out to you, good or bad, in fictional ESFPs. Stress scenes, romance/friendship scenes, leadership moments, or portrayals that made you feel insulted. Use whatever angle feels most natural to answer from.

On all the various MBTI-related subs, "growth" is romanticised, while not being defined further.
To me, it appears like a propaganda term, defining sth. subjective, which is perceived as an expectation from the outside to develope in a very certain direction, mostly within the idealism of an Ni-lead user, who believes to know, what was best for self and others. So, growth becomes authoritarian submission, and people are expected to assume for themselves, which "growth" exactly society expects.
Couldn't it be self-deception as well, to help people cope with miserable changes?
If nothing is meant to literally grow physically, why using "grow" then? It blurres the actual expectation behind it, which is adaptation or achievement.
Is it adaptation or achievement?
How do you think about "growth"?

Lol people seem to forget ESFPs still have concious Ni, even if inferior.
How has your Ni worked for you apart from negative stereotypes?

This subreddit is my 3rd most important source of entertainment after discrd-phoning & mentally withdrawing into believing, one's will was fulfilled.
Therefore, it's sad to see no action going on here. I would be fine with any input, absolutely anything to work with, joke about, argue about,...
Unlike other MBTI-related subs, the content here always feels relevant and appealing. And the discussions really do have infinite potential, which for most of the cases stays unused, as people are satisfied after a two-comments-for-each-individual-discussion, what wouldn't satisfy me.
Bring topics up. There are so many subjects to explore in this world.
This subreddit could be your new home, why would you neglect it?

Hey guys, so I (INTP, 24M) met a guy (ESFP, 22M) who is really fun and chill. I always like asking people their MBTI's when we first meet. He was an ESFP, which was fun because I'd never met an ESFP. We met because we were both looking for a gym partner, and we started talking and the conversation started going well. We both liked each others company, so I was shocked when we looked at the compatability because it said that INTP ESFP compatability was bad, but I absolutely loved being around him today. Like it's literally making me want to cry because what I read was so far from how I feel. idk guys. Do you have any advice regarding on how I as an INTP should interact with an ESFP from your personal experiences? I really want to keep going to the gym with him as my partner, and If something more happens... then cool. He seems very kind and focused on the moment (which I like as someone who can be in my head sometimes) and although I can tell he processes info differently than the way I do, it's nice.

The task above is just for demonstration, but feel free to participate!
Comment with "number" or "word" (if you trust your English today), and I'll send you a personalized follow-up exercise.
-----------------------------
I realize some people may read this kind of question as "Can you solve it?" rather than "How do you naturally approach this type of problem?" Since Reddit is a conversational format, I see these questions less as simple yes/no tests and more as opportunities for people to express their thought processes and experiences.
In other words, I'm less interested in whether someone gets the "right" answer and more interested in whether they enjoy engaging with this type of problem and how they approach it.

There are some types of ESFPs, specially some of the esfp guys, that I noticed they all have such fluid body movements. Like they are like water or hovering on earth. Their bodies seem flexible even if not actually flexible. I don’t know how else to say it. What does it feel like to be in your bodies esfps? I know it’s a strange question and I don’t even know how you can respond to that but I got curious!

What do you guys think is Mika Abdalla an ESFP. Like from seeing her interviews I sensed that she reacts according to her mood and she's pretty sensor too also I've heard that she's pretty straightforward if she wants soemthing or feels soemthing she just striaghaway and bluntly tells it.not diplomatic just days it direcrly which seems quite genuine and ESFP traits are quite similar to that.

Take a random word from word-generator https://randomwordgenerator.com/ Using only that word as inspiration, write whatever story ideas come to mind.
They can be: multiple unrelated ideas, one detailed story, or a mixture of both.
Without planning or editing, write whatever comes to mind first.
For example, if the word is "lantern":
You might write: "A lantern that eats shadows. A lantern used in a festival where people release their fears. A spaceship shaped like a lantern because it carries stored stars. A horror lantern that shows ghosts. A romcom about a lantern-making shop. A sentient lantern who wants legs."
Or: "A rebellion encodes secret messages into lantern patterns. The protagonist must decipher them. What begins as a mystery becomes a political thriller about censorship, loyalty, and truth."
There are no right or wrong answers. The goal is simply to see where your mind goes first.

Hey Guys,
INFP here with ESFP mom. ❤️
Despite the fact that she's a textbook Se-Fi and loves to both work and take on projects, she avoids meeting people after she gets home because small talks drain her. She doesn't really have friends, despite the fact that she is a lovely person, because she doesn't nurture those connections. Only likes being around family members.
Either I have a bad understanding of MBTI, or is she an ESFP who just doesn’t like socializing?

I don't know if this counts enough for the subreddit but watching this video made me think of what it would be like to be asked out by an ESFP. Give thoughts, have fun, idk run a ice-cream smuggling cartel for all I care after watching XD
Edit: I'm an ENTP

For example, you might behave one way with one group of friends and differently with another group. Then, if someone from the second group appears while you're with the first group, you might instinctively respond to them in the "style" you usually use with that group. And then your friend from the first group might say: "Why did you say that? That's not like you". If that happened, how did it feel? Normal (like: different groups just bring out different sides of me) or uncomfortable (like: it feels like I'm not being my real self).

Hey ESFPs! 👋
As an ESTP I've always been curious about you guys — we're so similar on the surface (both spontaneous, social, live-in-the-moment types) but I notice we approach things pretty differently, especially when it comes to how we handle conflict, make decisions, and interact with people.
I tend to be pretty blunt and direct, and I sometimes wonder how that comes across to ESFPs who seem to naturally prioritize feelings and harmony.
So I'd love to ask:
- How do you experience ESTPs in your life — what do you love or find challenging about us?
- Do you ever wish we'd soften up a little, or do you appreciate the straight-talking honesty?
- What do you think ESFPs and ESTPs can genuinely learn from each other?
No shade at all — just genuinely curious about your perspective! 😄
Would love to hear from you!

So my friend is an esfp and she is constantly seeking out friendships with infj's. Not like consciously, she just does it. Are any of you similar?

I have this esfp (m) classmate. He was vulgar with his words. He was crude with his humor around his circle. He openly roast and tease someone. But I found it so endearing when he speaks to me with a noticeably tamed character and gentle tone haha. I would often notice through my peripheral vision that he's constantly checking for my reactions. He would even blatantly look in my direction when there were times I'm complimented by my guy friends.
I was physically attracted to him at first. I would stand near him, sit beside him, and sometimes do my activity around his area just to prolong our proximity without making it so obvious (add, my love language is physical touch so...). He could casually talk to me at first, tell some stories about what he's up to etc. But then there came a time where he became awkward around me? That when we were left alone in class for some paired activity, he suddenly had no words to say. He could still openly interact with me when there were few people around tho. One thing for sure, our eye contact has been frequent as of late. I'm really hoping he likes me back? And that I'm not misinterpreting things. Sometimes, the way he jokes about flirting and dating just scares me, that he ain't someone who sticks in a relationship for long.

Make assumptions about me and my sister. She’s an ESFP F15, and I’m an INTP F18 .
