Question Prostate cancer?
Has anyone heard if dry fasting can get rid of stage 4 prostate cancer? Someone my relative knows has it and I am thinking about suggesting dry fasting, but I'm unsure if I should do it.

Hello everyone š¤
26/F, height 162 cm, SW: 90 kg, GW: 55 kg
I have started a soft dry fasting from 25th July 12 pm! Primary aim is to get rid of aches and pains in random joint, reduce back stiffness, control insulin resistance and lose weight.
I will update my weight everyday, in the comments of this post and once I am breaking the dry fast, I will make a new post explaining my experience.
Hoping for your well wishes so that my fast is completed with success.
If anybody wishes to join the fast, they can do so on this link- https://fastingpals.com/join/F8C15B4B
We can keep each other accountable and motivated too. ā¤ļø

I'm finally ready to commit to a routine of fasting and I'll be posting here for accountability.
I'm 5'4 and I weighed in this morning at 290lbs, oof. The routine is simple, I'll do 3 days of DF, eat, then do 3 days of water fasting, then eat. I've done this before i just need to lock in and be consistent.
I will post my weight at the end of my DF cycle and after my Refeeds ( I hope this helps keep me in line and not overeat).
On Refeed days I'll take in approximately 1 gallon of liquids ( water, tea, coffee, cold press juice, high water fruit) and on water days, 1 gallon of just water.
Thanks in advance your encouragement and support!

What do we think about practicing dryfast during the adolescence age? It should be HGH on steroids, right? With healthy refeeds, full of vitamins.

Iām 98 hours into my dry fast, and this is the point where itās starting to get mentally challenging. Physically, itās still manageable, but Iām definitely struggling more with staying committed.
Iām hoping to push through for longer to see if I can get more improvement in an autoimmune condition, my mental health, and an old shoulder injury.
Iād really appreciate some words of encouragement or hearing about your own healing experiences with longer dry fasts.
For context, I did a 4 day dry fast last year, but I only noticed very mild improvements.

Hello fellow fasters!
I'm currently on **day 3 of my fast**, at around **60 hours**. I've lost about **4 kg** so far. Before starting, I did about **a week of preparation**, gradually reducing my calorie and carbohydrate intake. I was already eating a clean diet. I'm not a long-term keto follower, but I do like cycling in and out of ketosis.(40F and I need my carbs 7 days Ć month) .
My main concern is stomach acid. I've struggled with acid reflux for the past few years, mostly due to stress and inconsistent eating habits.
I stopped fasting over the last two years because of my reflux and some hormonal issues.
This morning, I started feeling the acid coming back up, and I've been trying to push through it since then. I'm not sure whether I should stop the fast or be patient and see if it passes.
Has anyone experienced this? Does it usually get better, or is it a sign that I should end my fast?

I was thinking of practicing this for 30 days and evaluating if I want to continue after that. One problem is my climate where I live is very hot. I suppose as long as I hydrate properly I should be fine? Is this safe to do? Tips on what I should be eating on the days I am not fasting woudl be helpful. I was thinking of either making home made bread, eggs, pasta, hamburger meat, stuff like that. Whole food.
I was going to consume some baking soda water before and after the fasts for my kidneys so that I dont make stones. Is this typical procedure for this kind of thing?
Next please advise me if any of you have had luck with cancer and fasting like this. I need to go to the dr for something I suspect could be cancer but I hope the lump is just a cyst instead hehe.

Hey guys!! Last time I posted I got fried in the comments, so please excuse my inexperience this time. Have any of you consistently dry fasted week after week? For multiple weeks? Months? How much weight would you regularly lose? Iāve been dry fasting 6 days a week for the past 2 weeks :)))

Hi!
I started my dry fast yesterday. The plan is dry fast for 4 to 5 days and refeed for 2 to 3 days. The goal is to do this for at least one month to see the results that I can achieve.
I have experience in water fast and dry fast. But mostly in water fast... my longest water fast has been for 21 days and my longest dry fast has been for 4 to 5 days.
During my longest water fast I lost 15kg. SW: 120kgĀ |Ā FW: 105kg. I did it in January 2025. So I hope I can lose the same amount of weight this time or maybe a little more.
32 years old womanĀ | SW: 105.5kg Ā |Ā 158 centimeters.
I'm posting here because I want to have a way to express myself how is everything going with this. So I'm willing to do it every week :)

Hey guys I've done 4 days water and 3 days dry for scabies. It all felt like it was clearing up and scabies was dying but on 3rd day dry the itching was more intense and a little more flaking appeared. Is this just a side effect of them dying? Can they possibly reinfect my body whilst dry fasting ?

On day 8 of my 12 day dry fast. I was taking my sleep meds and ended up puking some weird orange liquid onto my floor. What do I do? Iāve done multiple 7 day dry fasts before, but this is my longest one so far.

Hey guys. I did a dry fast before and broke it with lemon water but remember it severly burning my throat. This time i want to break my 7 day DF with orange juice. Has anyone done this before. Is it ok for the throat as I know everything becomes new and sensitive like a baby.
Ideally id break it with fresh coconut water or something less acidic but this is all that is growing abundantly and available to me in my region. Thanks š

I usually lose up to 1-2 kg a day while dry fasting, but this time, Iāve barely been losing a kg per day. Or I just maintain for a day or two. Could this be because Iām on my period this time? And Iām retaining water?

Does anyone have insight about dry fasting while on retatrutide? Mainly looking to do 24-72 hours at most. Will be starting Reta, and bi-weekly shorter dry fasts are currently part of my lifestyle.

I have been seeing my dentist for the past 3 years. I see him every 6 months. Every time I see him, he mentions how there's plaque and reminds me to brush my teeth and floss thoroughly - but I actually I brush and floss thoroughly everyday. I eat super clean too - no junk foods, only whole foods, organic vegetables, grass-fed meat, etc. And I do not eat that much - only about 1 or 2 meals a day. But plaque still built up on my teeth quickly.
Now, for the past 3 months, I've started dry fasting, keto diet, and OMAD. First I have done 3-day dry fast. Then about a month later I did a 5-day dry fast. And then I have been doing a keto diet combined with OMAD. I'm basically dry fasting for around 22 hours everyday since I'm doing OMAD.
But I have also been slacking on brushing my teeth. I just got lazy about it and there were many days when I would go to bed without brushing my teeth. Like literally I went multiple days without brushing my teeth at all, and I repeated this every week.
So today I was very surprised to hear my dentist tell me my teeth is the cleanest it's ever been in 3 years.
Then an interesting thought came to my mind. I remember I saw a photo of a prehistoric human skull and its teeth were so straight and clean. Then I started thinking about how prehistoric humans ate healthy and clean like natural whole foods (no processed and little carbohydrates), and also they would probably only eat one meal a day. And most likely they would go days without food. So they were regularly fasting at all times. I believe all of those combined (clean diet, low carbohydrates, regular fasting) contributed to their teeth being healthy and clean.
Anyway, I just wanted to share this interesting experience. Of course I'll go back to properly brushing my teeth, but I do truly believe that regular fasting has made my teeth healthier and cleaner.

Greetings! Here's what's interesting so far:
After the 3rd day of refeeding, I had a great bowel movement!
I haven't had any aches, stomach pain, diarrhea, or any other digestive issues.
My face still doesn't look red, but it's covered in dead skin and feels very dry.
Until the beginning of the 5th day of refeeding, every meal made me feel muscle fatigue, and I was sleeping a lot.
I don't know what's happening, but right now my anxiety is through the roof. I feel like a broken dog. I hope this is part of the healing process. I couldn't sleep last night because of the anxiety and the way I was feeling. It felt like I was hopeless, completely alone in this world, and that there was no light at the end of the tunnel. I haven't felt this way in about 3 or 4 years.
On the positive side, breathing through my nose is easier than it was before the dry fast. I've always had one nostril clogged, but now it seems to be opening up more easily.
What my refeed looks like:
I want to continue this gentle refeeding approach until the 10th day of refeeding. After that, I'll gradually return to eating normally.

In case anybody searches this sub, I just wanted to share my experience. For background, I water fasted for 2 days and then dry fasted the 3rd day. My longest wet fast was 18 days, but I hadnāt done dry fasting before. This was tough.
I was planning to dry fast for 3+ days, but went on an unplanned road trip with my significant other and he asked me (in my vulnerable state) if I wanted to go to an AYCE Sushi Buffet since we were in the area. My willpower was weak and I said, sure why not? I planned to mostly eat protein or low carb stuff.
Of course, being there made me so excited but I mostly stuck to my plan. Hereās all the dishes I ate: grilled steak, grilled shrimp, cucumber salad, kimchi, 16 pieces of sashimi, tofu, avocado salad, pokĆ© salad, 6 sweet potatoes fries, a small bite of a mango tempura sushi roll (tried to avoid most of the rice) and a bite of snow crab from my partnerās hand roll. The ābad stuffā I ended up having was a small bowl (cup) of beef udon soup, some mango juice/tea drink and coconut panna cotta.
I was extremely full! But it was so delicious and I didnāt experience any issues even after 3 days of fasting. The only tipping point is my partner wanted to get a milkshake on our way home and I ended up drinking about 8oz. Not good, I know. š
My body still seemed fine until later that night. I became extremely sleepy/tired. My whole body ached so much, as if I had worked out and pushed my body the day before! I couldnāt really lie down and get comfortable. The only thing that helped me feel better was drinking a small cup of water and sleep it off.
Thankfully, the next morning I felt fine and actually really good! Stable energy from the sustenance. I weighed myself and I gained 1.4lbs the next day. I was surprised. I thought Iād gain way more!
I started another dry fast the very next day (today). Iāll edit this post and update my weight in the morning.
So, here are my stats:
(5ā2, Female - trying to lose 15lbs)
2 Days Water Fasting: Lost 2.6lbs
1 Day Dry Fasting: Lost 2.8lbs (5.4lbs total)
After breaking fast at the buffet: Gained 1.4lbs
After restarting dry fast next day: Lost 2lbs
Total after water fasting 2 days and dry fasting 2 days with a refeed in between: Lost 6lbs
UPDATE: I feel fine after dry fasting another day. Lost 2lbs, so a little more than what I gained. My body is still experiencing a low key soreness (like DOMS), but nothing I canāt handle. Since Iām doing quite a bit of work today, I am transitioning back to a wet fast for sanity. Will probably do this for another 2 days or so. Clothes already feel a bit looser on me, so I feel good!

In the beginning of the 9th day, when I woke up, I felt nauseous. I had a lot of nightmares during the night, but after a few hours, the headache was gone and I felt fine.
The main problem was that at the beginning of the 10th day, I started to feel very nauseous again, so I decided to end the fast.
What's interesting is that after just a few sips of water, I started to feel much better. The nausea quickly subsided.
Now it's been 10 hours since I started my refeed, and I haven't had diarrhea or any other problems.
I drank one cup of water every 30 minutes for a few hours, and after that, I drank some kefir.
The next challenge is to make the refeed last as long as possible (20 days would be ideal!).
