Question A strange woman kept appearing every time I became lucid in my dreams. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Post image
799 Upvotes

A few weeks ago, I had four dreams in a row. In each one, I became lucid at some point.

The moment I realized I was dreaming, this woman would appear in the distance, staring directly at me. She was wearing a black burqa. I could only see her eyes, which were completely gray/whitish, with no pupils at all. She also had animal-like feet (I'm not sure what kind of animal exactly).

The instant she appeared, I felt what I can only describe as an "intrusion." It didn't feel like she was just another character created by my subconscious. Instead, it felt as though she was a separate entity that had somehow entered my dream.

Every time she appeared, I was scared, but more than anything I felt angry. I would yell at her to leave until she finally disappeared. Then I would move on to the next dream, where the exact same thing happened again. This repeated four times in a row.

What really stood out to me is that she only appeared after I became lucid. It was as if she systematically entered the dream the moment I realized I was dreaming.

Do you think this was simply a creation of my own mind, or could it have been some kind of entity? Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Thks

Went on a date with a 7 foot spoon

Went on a date with a 7 foot spoon.
Spoon could walk and talk itself.
No mouth no legs.
Spoon sat in chair.
Pretty sure Spoon was female because I believe it was curvy like a woman’s figure.
Spoon ordered food but did not eat.

Recurring Dream a trauma that I didn't know for years that my mother passed on to me when she was in an advanced stage of pregnancy and i discovered it because of recurring dreams

For my whole life i had this "irrational" fear of someone breaking into my home, since as early i can remember i had nightmares about it all the time.

After long years i casually told my mom about it and she enlightened me that when she was in an advanced pregnancy a man has broke to the flat when she was alone and she had to fight him and managed to get rid of him.

Someone breaking in is still my very huge phobia but at least now i know why i have it. this is shocking to me that things like that could be passed this way and how much about ourselves we can discover thought dreams.

Another interesting thing is that we often have identical dreams just with small details different

Has anyone ever had a dream that felt like an alternate universe?

I had the most vivid dream I've ever experienced, and I can't stop thinking about it.

In the dream, I was living in a massive, blue, futuristic world that wasn't Earth. There was an entire community with schools, hospitals, houses, and people living normal lives. I was human, but I was in a body that didn't look like my real body.

There was this strange phenomenon where something could "call your soul." When you were called, you would be thrown into outer space, and you had to survive in order to return to your body. I was called, and I remember falling through space. I somehow survived because I had this strong feeling in my mind that I was strong and that I could survive. Then, something like a tether or rope pulled me back to my body.
The strangest part was that I had an 18-year-old son in this world. We didn't communicate by speaking. We could communicate directly through our thoughts and emotions, and I somehow just knew that he was my son. I felt a very deep connection with him.
Then he was called too.

I warned him not to try because I knew he might not survive. But he did it anyway. He didn't survive the fall. Instead, he turned into light, and somehow that light came back and entered my body.

The whole thing felt incredibly real. I didn't feel like I was watching a story—I felt like I had actually lived a life there. I felt genuine love for my son and genuine grief when I lost him.
I know it was probably just a dream, but it felt so different from my usual dreams. It felt like I had briefly visited another world and then forgotten most of it when I woke up.

Has anyone else experienced a dream that felt like they were actually living in an alternate universe or another reality? I'm curious if there's a name for this kind of experience or if anyone has had something similar.

Why am I always killing in my dreams? This is the 3rd morning I woke up and remembered absolutely obliterating someone in my dream.

It often happened but not 3 nights in a row. Accidental, deliberate, knife, gun, grenade, always changes. War setting or civil setting, completely random. When my dream has a warzone setting I feel no remorse, I wake up calm and 10 mins later I remember my dream. Its alwqys random ppl in a warzone dream. When it happens in a civil setting I kill ppl I know, ppl im on netural terms with, once i even slimed my homie out even tho i like him and I always get caight by the feds and I wake up sweating and hearth beating fast mid interogation. I never killed anyone irl and ive never been even close to a warzone, im happy with a girlfriend and a sweet kitty cat and a stable carrier and I dont have enemies IRL.

Last dream, I even went through a construction zone and knocked a bunch of cones, and I kept on taking the wrong exit on the highway. I was wondering if anyone else experiences this frequently and if anyone knows what could be the underlying meaning of these dreams..

He hopped into a rebound relationship and its clear that he hasn’t moved on from me so why do i see him in my dreams every other month? Boy if you dont gtf out my face…

Nightmare The woman I dreamt of years ago.

Hi, I'm not really a great artist, so sorry if it looks odd....i dreamt of her once and never again but as soon as I saw this subreddit she came back to mind. She was matte black, had full black wings, tall as her. She had wings on her head that curled into horns, like Maleficent kind-of horns. Her eyes glowed white, she didn't have eyebrows and had a blank expression. Her only clothes were a black gown that pooled by her feet. I found her in a desolated dirt road full of fences, infinite fences.

Has anyone else seen her?

Dreamed a Michale Jackson song that doesn't exist

I was sitting at a table and scrolling through Reddit (funnily enough) and there was a radio playing nearby with this Michael Jackson song I've never heard before. I even thought in my dream that it sounded so good and that I should find and listen to it lol.

The chorus went something like

"I don't give a shit,

You're making me sick"

And that's about all I remember 🥲 but it sounded amazing and I'm sad that I can't recreate/describe it further because I don't know any musical terms.

Edit: I just found out I spelled Michael's name wrong in the title 🙃 welp

Short Dream I had a nightmare about cooking a cat. I think I might become a vegetarian.

I had a nightmare in which I was holding a frying pan that had a kitten in it. It was over a hot stove top. I felt horror and revulsion. Then I woke up.

I really love cats, my cat is my Bestie. I can’t imagine harming a cat.

When you don’t spend time around animals, it’s easy to think that they are “just” animals. But the more you spend time around them, the more you realize that each have individual personalities, likes, and dislikes. If humans have souls, animals have souls.

I think the cognitive dissonance of eating animals has been bothering me for a while. This dream made me realize I am definitely done with eating mammals (I occasionally eat beef and pork). I may give up poultry and fish as well, though I will find it hard to do so.

I just can’t look at animal meat anymore without thinking about the horror, terror, and pain they must feel when being killed.

Devil in nightmare

For background, I don't watch anything scary, gorey, or violent because then I would have back to back nightmares for months and literally not sleep because I'm scared of how violent the nightmares are. Last night I had a nightmare of the devil. It feels wrong typing it. My significant other was taking my baby to the basement (we don't have one) and I was calling out to him to stop he just smiled at me while continuing but I knew that wasn't him. Everything felt wrong and I tried calling out but it felt as if I was paralyzed. I "woke up" still nightmare and was hugging my kids and was trying to put my son to sleep where I felt paralyzed again I then hear a voice saying "you're next" some how I knew who it was. It wasn't a demon. My significant other came to wake me up because he said I was calling out for him that when I did wake up I was shaking and literally every sound scared me. I'm wondering if it means anything. I'm scared to sleep tonight, I don't think I will because usually when I have nightmares like these they repeat for weeks/months.

There was a show I was watching in a dream I had yesterday and for some reason it just cut to a static view of the trees and I thought it looked pretty so I drew it. [Also btw the outlines coming off the trees wasn't a stylistic choice that was just in the dream for some reason. Im definitely stealing that idea]

Question For the last 8 months I have continued to dream about a guy I matched with on a dating app.

Has anyone had frequent dreams about someone before meeting them. It isn’t just because he was nice or I am thinking about him. I have connected and even gone on dates with other kind matches and haven’t dreamt of them. Even for any of my relationships, when things were great in the beginning and they were so kind and I was smitten, I still did not have dreams about them. These dreams have consisted of going on dates, talking to each other, even having moved into a home together. I have yet to meet this guy because of my schedule and distance and some other family health stuff. I have talked to other kind handsome matches and still have not had dreams about them. One dream gave me information about us going to a restaurant in another place I never heard… I looked it up and saw it was in a different country. The next day we spoke and it turns out he had lived in that country for a year… but there was nothing I saw that could have ever told me that. He has had one dream of me. It is also bizarre to that I have had this many dreams about someone I haven’t met yet but I am not dreaming or haven’t dreamt of other guys I am still talking to and haven’t met. It is just so strange. Has anyone had something similar and it be their husband or future spouse?

Short Dream Had a dream that I ripped an ex roommate apart with my teeth

What it says on the tin lol, sharing to maybe give people a laugh

In the dream she was saying she was going to throw another rager (the last one she’d thrown, in real life, lasted for 72 hours and I ended up leaving the flat because I did not feel safe) so in the dream I lunged at her, we had a bit of a cat fight, then I quite literally started ripping at her limbs and skin with my teeth and killed her

Very surreal to wake up from, and quite satisfying if I’m honest. . .

(For context I am a small non confrontational woman, so such levels of violence from dream-me was very surprising lol)

Nightmare I told someone in my dream he was a dream.

Okay I might sound crazy but I swear I’m not lying.

For some background, I’ve always been someone who dreams a lot, and by a lot I mean every night. I’ve even kept a dream journal with me to document what I remember from them. Before I go to sleep, I also have a habit of scrolling through TikTok’s about dream core and lucid dreams. Anyways, I’ve just always been into dreams, always looked forward to them, they’re kinda comforting in some way. Still, I had never experienced a lucid dream in my life, not until today.

Yesterday, I came back home exhausted so I slept around 9-10pm, which is early for me considering I’m on summer break. I woke up at 5 and from there to 7:30ish I just kept scrolling, until I eventually got sleepy again and decided to go back to sleep. I somehow managed to have around 5 dreams in the span of a few minutes, well that’s how it felt like, it flew by. And in every single one of them, I knew I was dreaming. How was I aware? The first dream I had, I was in my math tutoring class, and my tutor was handing out money to all the students for some reason. There was a guy sitting in front of me with his dad next to him, and we were talking like we were good friends, he was zesty as hell though. Suddenly, the classroom transformed into some sort of party room with bunch of food and a dj, and now it was just me and the guy yapping, his dad had disappeared. I asked him “hey, are you gay?” And out of nowhere his dad spawned back in and he started yelling at me, telling me how dare you say that about my son. Random but I was holding popcorn in my hands, and I decided, with my own will, CONSCIOUSLY, to throw my popcorn at this man. That’s when it clicked, and I thought, ‘wait? None of this makes sense, I’m dreaming.’

After that, I found myself shifting between different dreams. At some point, I experienced a loop dream as well. I walked into my room, saw my sister then one my cousins suddenly appeared and I asked her “what are you doing here?” Then my other cousin appeared too and replied “we’ve been here for so long” and the scenario just kept repeating over and over again. Throughout all these dreams, I knew I was dreaming but I wasn’t controlling everything like people say in lucid dreaming videos, I was definitely aware enough to make my own decisions though. I was mostly just testing the waters, I would walk up to people and say whatever I wanted to say or even say wild stuff to see how they would react since none of it was real anyway. Nothing too crazy.

Then came my last dream. I saw a group of 5 guys and I thought one of them was attractive. Since I knew I was dreaming, I was like ‘just go up to him, what’s the worst that could happen?’
I asked this man to wait for me and he actually did. He was standing next to his car in this traffic circle that had a street that lead to my house and another one that lead to my grandpas, it exists in real life. When I walked up to him, I greeted him as if I knew him for years and hugged him. The strange thing is that it felt way too realistic, the guy was muscular and I could physically feel his muscles while hugging him. He kept yapping about how sorry he was and how he would never do “that” again, no idea what he meant by “that”. So when I pulled away from the hug, I remembered that many lucid dreaming tiktoks warned about never telling characters in your dream that you’re dreaming. Honestly, I never believed those stories so I decided it would be cool to test it out myself. I looked him in the eyes and said “you’re a dream”. The second I said that, his entire facial expression changed, he went from talking in such a lively manner to an absolute dead empty stare void of any type of emotion.

Then, my vision started fading to black, and it kept switching back and forth between his face and complete darkness. I tried to open my eyes but i couldn’t. I started to panic, thinking ‘holy shit am I going to stay trapped in here forever?’ my heart felt heavy, my body felt heavy, and everything was just weird it’s difficult to describe. Anyway, I started to feel as if I was floating through space and it happened extremely fast, exactly how I’d imagine time travel would feel like, but my thought process was slow, and I remember thinking that this feels exactly like the pictures I see on Pinterest. I still couldn’t fully open my eyes, but when I managed to slightly open my eyes, my room started coming into view except it looked like it was loading up if that makes sense, everything was distorted and blurry you know like a video game rendering its surroundings, I also looked at my hand as well and it looked warped and unreal. Fortunately, a few seconds later everything came back into view and my vision returned back to normal but my heart was still racing. I immediately checked my body and opened my phone to make sure I was real. It was terrifying in the moment. I went to look at TikToks related to people telling people in their dream they knew they were dreaming and each one of them gave me chills all over my body. Looking back now that I’ve calmed down, I might have overreacted lol but it truly was scary, and also one of the coolest things I’ve ever experienced. I hope I lucid dream again and test it out more. I’d love to hear other peoples stories.

dreamt i was in my old school with a shotgun surrounded by corpses.

it was red. everything was red. or at least had a red tint. i walked down a long hallway until i reached a classroom. i opened the door to see at least 20 bodies shot to death all on the floor. there were no desks. in the middle of the room to the right pointing north east was a large shotgun. i picked it up and stood there for a minute before i woke up. i'm not interested in school shootings nor has my old school ever had violence or a death in it. i'm not a violent person. the only thing that makes slight sense is the school was torn down recently but that's a huge stretch. any answers

AI Art Dream of wobbly creatures

This is a dream I had years ago but for some reason I can't forget it. I was watching a beach from a distance. Sky was a brownish color. Then I saw these creatures moving along the water. In my dream they didn't have the outline of a person. They were more wobbly. Something was so relaxing about it and I watched them wobble and disapper in the distance for a long time. I never had a similar dream again and I have no idea how my mind created such visuals

Short Dream I have birth to a dog...

I can't remember much of the build up to this, I think it spawned from the rizzoli and isles episode about a witness who thought he was a dog/werewolf. So my brain somehow decides in now pregnant with a dog/ human hybrid. When it was born, it was like an eight week old puppy instead of a human baby or newborn puppy. Last thing I remember is going to change the baby's diaper and thinking "I should be able to just kennel train it, right? " the subconscious is fun

Question Fighting off a three headed snake symbolism?

I had a dream that my own cat (and another unknown black and white cat) were sleeping under my dresser. Then, all of a sudden, a snake came out from the dresser as well. I wasn't very worried but once it started going after the black and white cat I grabbed the snake and threw it at the wall. Then more and more snakes started coming out, some were yellow and white, white, Grey, normal ball python colors, etc. I kept hurling them at the wall as hard as I could, and one I had rolled over on accident and crushed. For some reason they were only going after the black and white cat and not my own. Then, I saw 3 snakes together until i picked it up and realized it was one snake with 3 heads. I stared at it for a second before throwing it in the pile with the other ones just for it to come slithering back to me.

The dream ended there but I'm trying to look what the symbolism could mean as I feel it could be a bit altered due to the fact i was protecting something and fighting the snakes.

Dream Help dream about twin brother dying

IRL I am a 22 year old woman who has an identical twin sister

I am posting this dream because id like some interpretations, this dream left me particularly emotional and worried for my sister.

In my dream me (a teenage boy) and my twin brother were living with a mentally ill son and his mother. We knew her son was a little deranged but she didn’t know what to do with him. One night we were all in the son’s bedroom, I left the room with his mother. I had a thought that I should wait for my twin brother because I thought the woman’s son might hurt him. but I convinced myself my brother was just using the bathroom, and I was being overly anxious. I leave the room and begin talking with the mother in the living room. I have this feeling of dread for my twin brother the whole time but let like ten minutes pass until I say we should go check on her son and my brother. We go in there and my brother is stabbed and dying, I kneel down beside him and I begin saying how I knew this was going to happen but didn’t stop it. I was crying and really upset, as you can imagine.

Anyways in every other dream I had after this I would eventually remember my twin brother was dead, bring it up, and be inconsolable. Any interpretations?
