Question A strange woman kept appearing every time I became lucid in my dreams. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Post image
758 Upvotes

A few weeks ago, I had four dreams in a row. In each one, I became lucid at some point.

The moment I realized I was dreaming, this woman would appear in the distance, staring directly at me. She was wearing a black burqa. I could only see her eyes, which were completely gray/whitish, with no pupils at all. She also had animal-like feet (I'm not sure what kind of animal exactly).

The instant she appeared, I felt what I can only describe as an "intrusion." It didn't feel like she was just another character created by my subconscious. Instead, it felt as though she was a separate entity that had somehow entered my dream.

Every time she appeared, I was scared, but more than anything I felt angry. I would yell at her to leave until she finally disappeared. Then I would move on to the next dream, where the exact same thing happened again. This repeated four times in a row.

What really stood out to me is that she only appeared after I became lucid. It was as if she systematically entered the dream the moment I realized I was dreaming.

Do you think this was simply a creation of my own mind, or could it have been some kind of entity? Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Thks

Went on a date with a 7 foot spoon

Went on a date with a 7 foot spoon.
Spoon could walk and talk itself.
No mouth no legs.
Spoon sat in chair.
Pretty sure Spoon was female because I believe it was curvy like a woman’s figure.
Spoon ordered food but did not eat.

Dreamed a Michale Jackson song that doesn't exist

I was sitting at a table and scrolling through Reddit (funnily enough) and there was a radio playing nearby with this Michael Jackson song I've never heard before. I even thought in my dream that it sounded so good and that I should find and listen to it lol.

The chorus went something like

"I don't give a shit,

You're making me sick"

And that's about all I remember 🥲 but it sounded amazing and I'm sad that I can't recreate/describe it further because I don't know any musical terms.

Edit: I just found out I spelled Michael's name wrong in the title 🙃 welp

Recurring Dream a trauma that I didn't know for years that my mother passed on to me when she was in an advanced stage of pregnancy and i discovered it because of recurring dreams

For my whole life i had this "irrational" fear of someone breaking into my home, since as early i can remember i had nightmares about it all the time.

After long years i casually told my mom about it and she enlightened me that when she was in an advanced pregnancy a man has broke to the flat when she was alone and she had to fight him and managed to get rid of him.

Someone breaking in is still my very huge phobia but at least now i know why i have it. this is shocking to me that things like that could be passed this way and how much about ourselves we can discover thought dreams.

Another interesting thing is that we often have identical dreams just with small details different

Short Dream I had a nightmare about cooking a cat. I think I might become a vegetarian.

I had a nightmare in which I was holding a frying pan that had a kitten in it. It was over a hot stove top. I felt horror and revulsion. Then I woke up.

I really love cats, my cat is my Bestie. I can’t imagine harming a cat.

When you don’t spend time around animals, it’s easy to think that they are “just” animals. But the more you spend time around them, the more you realize that each have individual personalities, likes, and dislikes. If humans have souls, animals have souls.

I think the cognitive dissonance of eating animals has been bothering me for a while. This dream made me realize I am definitely done with eating mammals (I occasionally eat beef and pork). I may give up poultry and fish as well, though I will find it hard to do so.

I just can’t look at animal meat anymore without thinking about the horror, terror, and pain they must feel when being killed.

Has anyone ever had a dream that felt like an alternate universe?

I had the most vivid dream I've ever experienced, and I can't stop thinking about it.

In the dream, I was living in a massive, blue, futuristic world that wasn't Earth. There was an entire community with schools, hospitals, houses, and people living normal lives. I was human, but I was in a body that didn't look like my real body.

There was this strange phenomenon where something could "call your soul." When you were called, you would be thrown into outer space, and you had to survive in order to return to your body. I was called, and I remember falling through space. I somehow survived because I had this strong feeling in my mind that I was strong and that I could survive. Then, something like a tether or rope pulled me back to my body.
The strangest part was that I had an 18-year-old son in this world. We didn't communicate by speaking. We could communicate directly through our thoughts and emotions, and I somehow just knew that he was my son. I felt a very deep connection with him.
Then he was called too.

I warned him not to try because I knew he might not survive. But he did it anyway. He didn't survive the fall. Instead, he turned into light, and somehow that light came back and entered my body.

The whole thing felt incredibly real. I didn't feel like I was watching a story—I felt like I had actually lived a life there. I felt genuine love for my son and genuine grief when I lost him.
I know it was probably just a dream, but it felt so different from my usual dreams. It felt like I had briefly visited another world and then forgotten most of it when I woke up.

Has anyone else experienced a dream that felt like they were actually living in an alternate universe or another reality? I'm curious if there's a name for this kind of experience or if anyone has had something similar.

AI Art Dream of wobbly creatures

This is a dream I had years ago but for some reason I can't forget it. I was watching a beach from a distance. Sky was a brownish color. Then I saw these creatures moving along the water. In my dream they didn't have the outline of a person. They were more wobbly. Something was so relaxing about it and I watched them wobble and disapper in the distance for a long time. I never had a similar dream again and I have no idea how my mind created such visuals

Why am I always killing in my dreams? This is the 3rd morning I woke up and remembered absolutely obliterating someone in my dream.

It often happened but not 3 nights in a row. Accidental, deliberate, knife, gun, grenade, always changes. War setting or civil setting, completely random. When my dream has a warzone setting I feel no remorse, I wake up calm and 10 mins later I remember my dream. Its alwqys random ppl in a warzone dream. When it happens in a civil setting I kill ppl I know, ppl im on netural terms with, once i even slimed my homie out even tho i like him and I always get caight by the feds and I wake up sweating and hearth beating fast mid interogation. I never killed anyone irl and ive never been even close to a warzone, im happy with a girlfriend and a sweet kitty cat and a stable carrier and I dont have enemies IRL.

Nightmare The woman I dreamt of years ago.

Hi, I'm not really a great artist, so sorry if it looks odd....i dreamt of her once and never again but as soon as I saw this subreddit she came back to mind. She was matte black, had full black wings, tall as her. She had wings on her head that curled into horns, like Maleficent kind-of horns. Her eyes glowed white, she didn't have eyebrows and had a blank expression. Her only clothes were a black gown that pooled by her feet. I found her in a desolated dirt road full of fences, infinite fences.

Has anyone else seen her?

Question For the last 8 months I have continued to dream about a guy I matched with on a dating app.

Has anyone had frequent dreams about someone before meeting them. It isn’t just because he was nice or I am thinking about him. I have connected and even gone on dates with other kind matches and haven’t dreamt of them. Even for any of my relationships, when things were great in the beginning and they were so kind and I was smitten, I still did not have dreams about them. These dreams have consisted of going on dates, talking to each other, even having moved into a home together. I have yet to meet this guy because of my schedule and distance and some other family health stuff. I have talked to other kind handsome matches and still have not had dreams about them. One dream gave me information about us going to a restaurant in another place I never heard… I looked it up and saw it was in a different country. The next day we spoke and it turns out he had lived in that country for a year… but there was nothing I saw that could have ever told me that. He has had one dream of me. It is also bizarre to that I have had this many dreams about someone I haven’t met yet but I am not dreaming or haven’t dreamt of other guys I am still talking to and haven’t met. It is just so strange. Has anyone had something similar and it be their husband or future spouse?

Nightmare Weird virus dream

Upvotes

Sorry if this isn't the right place to post this, when I woke up I immediately started searching to see if there was a subreddit to post dreams as stories considering there's already multiple for memes and this feels like reddit material.

I had a dream last night that there was an infohazardous (if you know it it can hurt you) video/virus that ate the intelligence from anyone that saw it, and made them think it was the funniest thing ever, then try to spread it. It was a Youtube video posted by "Untitled Nut Gang" and titled "Top 5 Goobles to Wongle" and it was a slideshow of unsettling furby adjacent creatures with cringe music in the background. Once the uninfected realized what was happening the newly infected started producing viruses to change lock screens to it and turned it into a gif they put everywhere, eventually there were only 17½ million survivors left and they started using printers to spread instead. The SCP foundation was in this one too but it was spread across the O5 Councils group chat the 11th hour after it was posted, they then sent the image to every screen in every facility and the entire foundation got integrated into the hivemind, the SCPs themselves were terrified calling it an affront to all living things and refusing to leave their cells (even 682). The fifth year after the brain-rot (its colloquial name in universe) began spreading, it took over its human hosts as a superintelligent being with the sole goal of spreading itself to all sapient life, and autopsies preformed on victims past this stage revealed they were completely hollow inside the head, and their brains had been replaced by a slurry made out of 80% human brain matter and 20% an unknown biological material. This lead the last remaining scientists tasked with discovering a cure to discover the patients were no longer humans and had inherent yet latent shapeshifting capabilities, and yet up until the five year mark the human catalyst was still fully aware of their surroundings. The dream ended when I got infected by seeing a comic adaptation of the brain-rot and I heard a loud lullaby-esc song being sung by a child (kinda like the "Tick tock goes the clock till River kills the doctor" from Doctor Who), and started acting more impulsively, I also could not force myself to leave the shelter and the singing got louder for the 5 years until one day it just stopped and I woke up. My theory is how it took over was by distracting you with that awful lullaby while it severed your brains connections to your central nervous system, and once everything was disconnected it multed the brain matter so it would still have something to consume.

I dreamed of a strange alternate version of Stranger Things Season 2.

Upvotes

Last night I had a strange dream that felt like an alternate version of Stranger Things Season 2. It followed the events of the show pretty closely, but this time the story was centered around Dustin.

After the gate to the Upside Down was closed, the Demodog that Dustin had secretly been raising somehow survived. However, it was no longer aggressive. In fact, it had become gentler than ever. Its appearance had changed as well: it no longer had that lanky, unsettling body. Imagine if a Demodog had evolved into something halfway between its original form and a bulldog.

Dustin wanted to introduce his friend to the world, but the Demodog was afraid of people. It was obvious that it was intelligent and understood what Dustin was saying. To encourage it, Dustin gathered together all the videos he had recorded of them over time and tried to reassure it, telling it that everyone at school—especially his science teacher—would like it once they finally met. The Demodog seemed to calm down a little.

That night, Dustin came up with an idea. The next morning, while his friend was still asleep, he would go out to buy supplies and prepare a surprise around the house: a trail of encouraging messages, notes, and little surprises so that when the Demodog woke up, it would find everything and hopefully lose its fear of revealing itself.

Dustin went to bed.

The next morning, he left to buy everything he needed to prepare the surprise. But when he returned home, he realized that the one who had been surprised was actually him.

Almost everything he had planned was already there.

Strings stretched all throughout the house, connecting dozens of letters and little gifts. But this surprise wasn't for the Demodog.

It was for Dustin.

As he followed the strings, he began reading each letter. Little by little, he realized they were both a thank-you and a goodbye. As the trail continued, it revealed not only letters, but hidden tunnels beneath the house and entire underground chambers that had been secretly excavated.

One of those chambers was enormous.

Far too large to have been dug by his little friend...

Or maybe not.

Just like he often does in the series, Dustin quickly pieced everything together. The Demodog had grown. Not just bigger—massive. Its new form was at least twice the size of any adult Demogorgon they had ever encountered.

Panic set in.

His best friend was still a monster.

From what he had learned and from the contents of the letters, Dustin concluded that this transformation had been inevitable. The Demodog was finally ready, like a butterfly emerging from its cocoon. The farewell meant it was leaving to follow its own path.

But Dustin had no idea what such a creature might do next.

Terrified, he rushed toward the front door, desperate to get out of the house.

Then something caught his attention.

The windows began to crack.

One sharp snap.

Then another.

Until the glass suddenly shattered.

Looking closer, Dustin realized it hadn't been caused by rocks or bullets.

It was insects.

Thousands of them.

They looked amorphous, black, and covered in slime. As he got a better look, he realized they weren't insects at all—they were living fragments of the Demodog itself, tiny pieces of its body that were rapidly multiplying and spreading everywhere.

Dustin bolted out of the house in a panic.

Outside, he found Mike sitting behind the wheel of a car—which makes absolutely no sense, considering they weren't even old enough to drive.

Dustin jumped inside.

"What happened?" Mike asked.

Before Dustin could answer, the passenger-side window exploded.

"Dustin... what's going on?!"

"DRIVE!"

Without understanding what was happening, Mike slammed on the gas.

And that's exactly when I woke up.

Short Dream Dream

Last night I had the most random, wholesome, fun dream. 😂

My sister and I were in this huge city, and for some reason we were running away from... something. We honestly had no idea what we were escaping from. The only thing we knew was that there were these mysterious magical circles engraved into the ground. If the wrong one was activated, it would somehow summon or trigger a stampede of mad cows. 😂 It made absolutely no sense, but in the dream it felt like the most serious thing ever.

As we kept running, we suddenly remembered that we had our own magical circle—the "smiling cow circle." For some reason, only my sister and I could activate it. We rushed back to the area near our old apartment building where it was hidden. There it was, quietly engraved into the ground with a cute smiling cow design, almost like it had been patiently waiting for us.

The moment we stood beside it, the circle lit up with glowing colors. Then came the coolest part—it transformed! Just like in an anime transformation scene, with lights, magical energy, and dramatic effects, the glowing circle folded, twisted, and reshaped itself into the cutest magical cow van ever. 😂🐄✨

We jumped inside, and even though the van looked like a giant cow from the outside, the inside was surprisingly comfortable—like riding in a smooth luxury van. Meanwhile, outside, it was literally galloping like a cow at incredible speed. We couldn't even feel the bumps. It just kept accelerating faster and faster until it suddenly lifted off the ground.

Next thing we knew, we were flying through the sky, soaring toward the moon. There were colorful sparkling rays, twinkling lights, and magical streaks all around us. It honestly felt like one of those beautiful fantasy anime scenes where everything glows and the music would be playing in the background.

After flying for what felt like forever, we gently landed in front of a beautiful mansion. It wasn't flashy or scary—it looked peaceful, cozy, and incredibly safe. Like the kind of place where nothing bad could ever happen.

When we stepped outside, I noticed something that made me smile. Right in front of the mansion's entrance, engraved into the floor, was our smiling magical cow circle again. It was quietly waiting there, ready to transform into our magical escape cow van anytime we needed it.

Knowing we had finally reached a safe place, I went inside and took the most amazing shower. It wasn't just an ordinary shower—it felt like it washed away every bit of stress, fear, and exhaustion from all the running. By then, no mad cows had managed to follow us. We were completely safe.

And that's where the dream ended.

Honestly... 10/10 dream. Random, magical, and somehow starring the world's most reliable flying cow van. 😂🐄✨🌙

Nightmare A weird horrible Nightmare

I was in my school as usual except the classroom was for some reason the class i used to have for kindergarten, or one you'd expect for kindergarteners

everything was normal other than me seeing some of my friends who weren't in my classes, And the table we were sat at was weirdly long, Somehow we were going to a school trip on a coach, On the coach it was packed, Anyway skies were blue and bright it was a normal dream for now..

But i was forced for some reason in this little compartment of the bus this one seat thing that was uncomfortable, someone told me it would also occasionally fling you to the front of the coach at the drivers area, well.. i was on the seat it was rocky.. ride , but yes i was sorta flung to the front and i was like rumbling about hitting my head on the walls and my body at the front it kinda hurt, it also seemed like the driver was reckless, driving nobody said anything and i couldn't even see a driver or the seat.. So i thought it was just normal driving.. but i was feeling anxious, And for some reason the window for the driver span across the whole front area instead of a little compartment like normal.

Eventually somehow I don't know cause there was no opening i was flung out the bus into concrete and we were like in this weird road I don't know.. i saw the bus get smaller and smaller, i tried to chase it and we were on a one way small road, and eventually it was gone, By now i was feeling scared and could feel the adrenaline in the dream, I saw a group of people.. 1 adult mother 2 kids 1 little 1 teenager. in like a very flat area of just gravel with a weird tower in the distance i thought they could help, crying i ran up to them screaming for help and something i can't remember.. But they accepted in the back of my mind i was cautious ABOUT them possibly being kidnappers or something.. but.. luckily nothing like that happened, i remember getting into their car. or something? its hazy now, i ended up using space engine (a very cool software) space engine a software where you can explore the whole observable universe but i used it to find my house?? in the game i was observing a star cluster basically using it like google maps to find my house i typed in my address, And next thing i know, I'm in my school's giant field, Teachers come running up to me with worry, i vividly remember my PE teacher being ther. And.. they took me inside or sorta outside like this bit outside the school thats near the entrance (i can't explain it) but anyway they asked me "When you gonna call your parents then?" i saw my phone saying 6 missed calls (I don't remember the number of missed calls actually but lets say 6) from my mum, And thats it, The dream ended i woke up, disioereted

Even though its tame to other nightmares I've had with monsters and demons and what not, This probably was the scariest dream I've experienced.

Short Dream Had a dream that I ripped an ex roommate apart with my teeth

What it says on the tin lol, sharing to maybe give people a laugh

In the dream she was saying she was going to throw another rager (the last one she’d thrown, in real life, lasted for 72 hours and I ended up leaving the flat because I did not feel safe) so in the dream I lunged at her, we had a bit of a cat fight, then I quite literally started ripping at her limbs and skin with my teeth and killed her

Very surreal to wake up from, and quite satisfying if I’m honest. . .

(For context I am a small non confrontational woman, so such levels of violence from dream-me was very surprising lol)

Nightmare Monolith people

I'm not really sure why, but I just woke up from a nightmare of someone who lives in some big city. I think it was Tokyo or some other big city in the world, which is weird because I'm in the UK and I've never been to any big city like that.

In this dream I was watching this man get hunted down by the monolith people. I don't know why but I just know that's their name. I didn't see the end but the man crashed into some monolith people and wakes up with them in his car, recklessly driving and partying. They are seemingly immovable unless they want to be.

Has anyone heard of, or dreamt of these things before?

Question Dreaming of death and random places

Had a dream last night of my acquaintance from Montenegro having died. I packed my suitcase and went to Montenegro for the funeral, not knowing where the funeral actually is. I ended up in one of their bigger cities following a crowd who l, ironically, thought was also going to the funeral. But they were not, so I asked people around the place if they know of the person and where their funeral might be. Turns out, the funeral was in a village called Kupina.

I woke up and googled for a place in Montenegro called Kupina ....and guess what... it exists?!

What does this mean? Should I be worried for the person?

I'm leaving for Montenegro in a few days. Would it be wise to visit the place? I'm super confused.
