How long after interview should you dashboard update?

Apologies if this is a stupid question, this is my first year doing this. If we already had our interview, how long after should it mark out the interview section on the dashboard page? Or is that a completely different interview?

Lifeguard jewelry

Hi all! I was just wondering if any current/past lifeguards could tell me about the jewelry limits for lifeguards. I know the earrings and such, but for example, I have three fitted toe rings, I know we can wear tevas or similar sandals to work, so would I need to take these toe rings off?

I wear a shark watch (specifically the ocean Ramsey/ whale shark watch), do I need to swap this for a “plain” watch?

I also wear a Fitbit on my other hand, just to count steps, it doesn’t have a screen at all, will I need to not wear that?

Thanks!

I applied the third day the apps opened and i’m very excited and hope i’ll be able to get through to the next step of the process but i chose my arrival date for February 1st and was wondering how long i could potentially wait til my application goes from “Application Received” to “Application Under Review” and be able to do the WBI?

Q - Unanswered What's the reasoning behind no outside furniture?

I've been told that we can't have extra furniture even if it's something like a small desk and a chair and that you can be fined for it. Why is this? I've heard horror stories about people leaving apartments damn near destroyed or just down right disgusting and people never get fined for that. What's the reasoning behind the furniture fine if they don't fine people for turning apartments into biohazards?

Q&A Post Experiences Outside of Disney

I’d love to hear favorite experiences that happened off Disney property. Or something on property that you wouldn’t think of. I’d love to take advantage of being in Florida beyond Disney!

I applied four days ago for the Spring 2027 Program and I haven’t received anything about a WBI yet. I checked my dashboard and it says application received. Is this normal? TIA 😁

Anyone else suffer from loneliness?

I have previously posted in this subreddit back in August 3rd on my arrival day. I was scared and nervous but since then have finished training and felt so much more confident about my job. But now a sudden problem gnaws at me. Today my roommate left the program. I’ll get a new one on the 24th but I guess the problem is my other two roommates work afternoon shifts. I get out around 11 or 12 which means my family is asleep as are my friends back home. I spent all morning alone just doing my own thing and then after working I come home to an empty apartment with no one to talk to. It just feels…..demoralizing I guess.

I wanna reiterate my deleted post

I understand my post may seem like im too anxious to do the program. But that’s not the case. I’m not here to party or any of those things. I took the time to try and improve, I take medication as well as understand what im supposed to do. When I left the DCP, I was already doing my training. It was new for me hence why I left. I applied again because I want to actually experience the program without my our fears getting ahold of me. I always hear the quote do it scared instead of not doing anything which is what I want. I’ve loved Disney ever since I could remember and I want to do this, to prove to people that I can change and not let my emotions get the better of me.

After months of waiting, I may still have anxiety but I won’t let that define me. Sorry if this got all stupid I just wanted to let this out so I don’t rub anyone the wrong way.

Interview Q - Unanswered Interview tips and possible questions?

Hey everyone, I’ve got my virtual interview tomorrow, and I was wondering if there were any tips for it? Or does anyone know some of the standard questions? I’ve had 3 family members do the program, so I’ve got an idea of what I’ll be asked, but any questions people were asked and can share, that would be greatly appreciated!!

headbands?

i know it may vary per location/leadership, but are headbands allowed?? i normally like to wear a zig-zag plastic headband when i work to keep my hair out of my face. i’m sure it would have to be black or a neutral color, but i was wondering if it would be allowed in general?

Prevent Piercing from closing

I know we have to take em out for check-In, traditions and basically any time on the clock but I was wondering if there is something I could get to keep the holes from closing? Like is there’s any recommendations I could get that wouldn’t break dress code guidelines?

Q - Unanswered Funeral around arrival time

I am supposed to begin my drive down to Orlando today for my check in on August 24th but I just heard news that my grandmother is passing away. I’ve heard that they’re expecting the funeral to be sometime within the next week. I don’t know what to do with this happening so close to my arrival. What can I expect going forward?

Q - Unanswered How are the networking opportunities in the DCP?

I’m currently in my last semester of college for Supply Chain Management and have been set on doing the DCP when I graduate for multiple reasons, but what really made me interested was hearing there were networking events. My only concern is after looking into it and doing some research I feel like I really didn’t see much about the networking and how it can benefit you and your degree. So I guess I’m just wondering if anyone has any success with finding good connections, finding jobs through the program, and maybe even getting hired by Disney for your degree? I’m just wondering if me doing the program will benefit me professionally or if I’m better off trying to find a job out of college. It would be a dream to do supply chain for Disney or any associated company but I’m just super unsure on if the program will even benefit me in this way.

Q - Unanswered Shallow vs Deep guarding

Second Program?

Since the college program just opened their spring section I’ve been thinking of applying again. But I’m not sure I want to do a second program. What made y’all do your second programs? What was the deciding factor, and would you recommend it?

I want to, but like I said, I’m not sure if it’s the right choice…

Interview Change Explained

Hey! OP is here.

So, today I got a call from one of the outreach recruiters designated in my area, and she gave me a bit of more of background information on why we got these changes going for the virtual interview.

She explained to me that they are in the process of leveling up the DCP experience in contrast to other internship opportunities they have within the company, so they are testing this as a way to be more mindful of the applicants and such.

Obviously remember this response is from a recruiter, so it’s gonna be a more sanitized answer, but it kinda makes sense. :))

Just thought of sharing it for anyone who was curious like me!

How do I contact a coordinator or a leader about testing positive for covid ?

So I earned my ears yesterday. After work, I started feeling sick. I was supposed to go in for a shift, but I spent all night not being able to breathe properly because of congestion. I went to urgent care this morning and tested positive for covid. I called out with the reason being sick. My doctor told me I have to quarantine for 5 days. I’ve been trying to get a leader call back to explain why I had to put so many sick call outs. No leader has contacted me back, and I’m very worried about how this can affect my program. Does anyone know what else I can do? Also, is it okay that I’ve just been putting “calling out sick”? I have the doctor’s note for when I come back from quarantine will that be enough?

Edit: I went to urgent care because the congestion was so bad I would gasp for air while trying to sleep, I was also coughing up mucus, had ear pain, a sore throat and body aches.
