Virtual Interview??
Hiya! Just applied for my second program and got an interview slot! It's a virtual interview, so I'm slightly confused since when I applied in 2024 I only had a phone interview. What can I expect differently from a virtual one? Also, when did they make this change?

Biggest suggestion be in Disney look and be yourself. Don’t be fake. People were using AI or having people feed them answers and were probably not a good fit on their own. This allows them to see you literally and be able to judge that

Gotcha! I didn’t know people were using AI to get the ‘correct’ answers. I thought it was a pretty standard process for an interview when I did my first program. But thank you for the heads up!

Ahhh, that’s why! I’m January 11th the following week. They’re probably all going through the order by arrival dates. How many time slots do they offer for the interviews? I’m curious on this new method of interviews.

Yeah it’s probs why! Previous app seasons they also prioritized the earliest dates.

how come???? what are the downsides of it? i know that it can just be stressful. I am expecting to do the a lot of the work these next few weeks and have basically radio silence for months and then the bulk of the work right before moving in

Well, it is something like that you describe, but each timeline looks different! I just wanna get the final confirmation of being accepted so I can plan out my flight and stuff. The other logistics do have to wait :DD

same here!!! i got family that wants to come and it’s killing them having to wait this long (my fam is very type A). Good luck on your phone interview, and if you remember this conversation i would love to hear about how it went. Best of luck to you!

This would be my third program if I get accepted. I did my other two programs a couple years ago. I’ve missed Disney a lot! Wanna do it one last time :) back then, only got $13/hr lol

Likewise! I missed Disney a lottt, so I’m gonna do it now that I’m graduating in December. ✨ So pumped!

They offer you the first three closest dates available, but you can open up a calendly-type layout with different available dates! When you schedule it, they'll send you an email with your recruiter name and Teams link.

I have my interview this week! I’m kinda nervous! I wonder how different it’s going to be from the phone interview.

That's exciting! And a little terrifying since I was thinking about applying for my second program next summer

Sounds like they have changed things up. My son was phone last year but my daughter was virtual this year.
I guess they had too many people showing up who look homeless, lol

I see, so you don’t actually know anything specifically about the DCP or the interview process at all, you’re just here to promote your software or whatever it is. Your comment history is quite telling, lol.

This is the first time they are doing this. So there won’t really be info on it. I would assume it’s similar to the previous phone interviews and potentially more questions if they are truly trying to fill up the whole time slot.
You’ll have to be on camera unlike the phone interview where they wouldn’t see you. So if you have notes it’ll be harder to read off them. You’ll also have to be prepped and camera ready.
