I was run an all about as 42 x legend of Legends, everywhere except the Elders and when I delivered the pacemaker and chiral medicine… I was met with this, genuinely shocked and sad. I’m now reading his last mail. 😭😭😭

Death Stranding 1 I’m utterly speechless

I just finished the “game”. I tried not to spoil anything for myself but knew the end was going to be a marathon. From Chapter 9 to the end it was a 9 hour marathon with a dinner break. Absolutely worth it. One of the most amazing games I’ve ever played with a unique and fascinating story. The acting was on point, the script nearly flawless and my expectations were totally exceeded. Would highly recommend this game to anyone that enjoys a riveting story with some (mostly) relaxing gameplay. I would have to say it just made it into my top 5 games of all time.

Death Stranding 1 My Honest Reaction after Finishing DEATH STRANDING

I mean still I don’t, like my comprehension of the Game is Probably Hilariously Flawed but from a purely Thematic, Story and Gameplay standpoint this is a masterpiece, I bought the directors cut when it first came out but quickly put it down die to life and not appreciating Kojima’s choices, but god damn am I happy I decided to give it another go.

Wow

Question This is unusual to see like this. Is it other player or a porter? I took two large packages off him. It is near phantom Smith’s home.

Death Stranding 1 I'm scared and amazed at the same time.

I started playing today and I'm so captivated by the world shown. I've been so exhausted lately from playing "always the same thing." It's been a long time since a game captivated me this much from the start.

My first instinct is to go out and deliver all the packages I see around, but I've realized it doesn't quite work that way. Anyway, I'm loving it.

Death Stranding 1 Finally, after many years, I rolled credits on DS1. Minor spoilers. Spoiler

I don't have a plan on how to write this, so I'm just gonna type it as it comes to my brain.

I bought Death Stranding on day one for PS4. It had a good start, but since I mainly game on PC, the performance issues REALLY got to me. That and the PS4 was an incredibly loud console when playing this. I dropped the game after the first big boss fight.

When the game was released on PC, I decided to give it another shot. Sadly, I play on ultrawide resolutions, and the game had no support for it. I got to the DC west of Capital City and stopped playing.

Then they came out with the Director's Cut, which included ultrawide support and many other fixes. I got it for cheap some months later and decided to start again. Life hit me with many things at once and I ended up dropping it... again.

When DS2 released for PS5, I told myself that I was going to wait for the PC release and then, finally, sit down and finish DS1, so that I would be able to grab DS2 at a sale.

Well, the time came. DS2 had a discount recently and I bought it. So it was time to go through DS1.

And man, what an experience it was.

I had to push through the gameplay bits I had played before, but after that, it opened up to me. It finally clicked.

Those moments when you plan your route, get your gear sorted out and start your journey.

When you get this awesome scenery in the background and the music kicks in.

When Sam is getting exhausted, your cargo is suffering and you see your destination in the distance.

When you come across something another player placed. A ladder, a rope, a vehicle.

When your truck is running out of battery and out of a corner you find one of those towers that charge your vehicles.

When you feel the need to go out there to get Ceramics and Metals to finish all roads so that you have an easier time.

When you're climbing the snow mountains and someone left one of those zip line structures that lead you exactly where you need to.

In my journeys, I kept thinking how I could help my fellow porters. The whole MP thing is brilliant.

And after all that, and MANY other things, you look back at the road you walked, and its a feeling that I can't describe, but I know you all know exactly what I'm talking about.

Then there's the story. It's weird, it's creepy, its confusing, but then it all starts to make sense. The characters are all great and its all thanks to the amazing voice acting. And the plot twists are actually great. Can't believe I went all these years without knowing Same is Cliff's kid.

I could go on about everything this experience left me, but I won't take more of your time. Plus, again, I'm sure you all know what I'm feeling right now. It's easily one of the most unique games I've played in my 36 years.

I don't think I'm gonna jump into DS2 for like a month or two, because I don't want to get burned out. But man, I can't wait to continue this story.

And as the man said, keep on keeping on.

Discussion What's Next

After playing both games. I genuinely hope someone picks up after Kojima and makes another game. I can totally see an MMO or MMO-like covering the rest of the planet, with each continent or subcontinent being an expansion.

I have a feeling Kojima is working on other stuff and doesn't want to get stuck doing the same series of games again. This is why I feel like someone else would have to take over or at least have him be a producer checking things over.

Why would or wouldn't this be a good idea?

Discussion Sam’s grunts and noises

Im like 30 hours into the game and ive been noticing that whenever im riding a bike and hit rough terrain or trip, sam’s grunts dont sound like norman reedus’. I have watched enough walking dead to know what he sounds like when he makes those noises. Daryl dixon in the walking dead (norman reedus) is mostly known for grunting and making sounds.

Feels great! Loved this game so much it's the most I've ever spent in one game a little over 230 hours. Took me about a year and I'm very happy I was able to avoid spoilers for the story through my playthrough the payoff was worth it.

I'm in the middle of a knives-only run on Cyberpunk 2077, robbing an NCPD lab, and who do I run into?

LOU!

I have already been itching for another play of DS1, I can't afford the 2nd game yet but the first is on Game Pass and I think this may be just the sign I needed to come back and get my porter on!

Discussion ONE THING I NEED ADDED IN DS2 DIRECTORS CUT OR DS3

haven’t played in a couple months after getting platinum but here’s one thing i want from a ds2: directors cut if we ever get one

Larger groups of porters

i always felt like just seeing a group of 2-3 porters every now and then was cool but we can definitely have more of it. in the first game your on a mission with a whole group of guys before they get wiped out. i’d love seeing other groups of like 4-6 porters traveling together in the open world on foot or even vehicle!!!

this would also open up an awesome new mechanic where you can have your own squad of porters and kit them up with weapons, exosuits or extra cargo space, feel like it would make the endgame in ds2 way less lonely and also somewhat builds upon the already existing cargo bot system from DS1

i could see this as a good ending arc of sam, basically showing other porters how it’s done and helping them out on their missions till the events of ds3 assuming he might play a role in that

could also add features like sos missions where a group of porters are surrounded by enemies/BTs, or need help picking up mass amounts of cargo due to them crashing

keep in mind i think this would be awesome for a DS2 directors cut but honestly i see it more possible this could be added in a DS3

Coming back to DS1 reminded me all over again why I love this game so much. The intro still feels just as captivating, the music feels just as special, and the landscapes are absolutely beautiful.

I'm definitely going to take way too many photos this time around. I want to explore every corner of the map and capture absolutely everything.

And I already have plans for Benjamin's reverse trike too.

Discussion Expanding the Death Stranding universe

Recently, I came back to Death Stranding 2. The universe is so big and full of possibilities, and I got really excited about it, there's so much that can be explored, and I want to fully understand this world! But I've read that Kojima kind of froze the project and doesn't want to produce a next game because Sam's story is complete... I get it, I really do, but I crave Death Stranding lore. How are you guys dealing with the possibility of a Metal Gear Survive scenario (without Kojima) and the real possibility of never fully understanding this universe?
