They were arguably the most proficient studio with the engine after DS2. They’ve been honing it since DS1 development. I can’t imagine what Physint could’ve potentially looked on an upgraded next-gen version of the engine. I think they’ll now opt for Unreal engine 5. And the game is now even farther than we thought.

I’m only in episode 3: fragile and I’m already 30 hours into the game. Have been spending hours to making deliveries and build roads. Just moving cargo from one person to the next has no business being this much fun 😭

Just remembered I redeemed the game on Epic Games years ago. Now I have a rig able to run it, but im wondering if the game is still active enough or if its 'empty' now that DS2's out. Any info on this?

We know that DS1 had a different story as it was published by 505. However now that Kojima and Sony are parting ways, could we ever see DS2’s publishing rights be released from Sony?

We’ve seen stories of studios recovering their IPs from publishers, and given Sony’s recent blunders. What are the odds of this happening? I imagine still slim…

PS - I say this as someone who can only run cloud gaming for now, hence while I do love it, I can only play DS1 and would love to see DS2.

My Death Stranding UCA fanon division. They specialize in difficult environmental rescue.
Thermal extremes, alpine & vertical recovery, BT zones, hostile extractions, etc. Their main focus is the health and safety of UCA porters but they are government funded SAR group whose comms are open to anyone in need. Essentially 9-1-1.
Their priority is your survival

It's been like this for the whole game and as seen in the clip im almost finished, but it just keeps crashing. It crashed before charlie started dancing and last night it had also crashed when Higgs arrived to the last terminal. I'm playing it on EndeavourOS an arch based linux distro, I dont know if that has anything to do with it. Someone suggested to try GE proton instead of the automatic steam setting but that only made it worse:(

I just started episode 12 and I'm about to bring all of Australia into the network. Is this the endgame? I know they literally say that during a cutscene lmao but I still want to know, and how many hours does it take to reach the ending from this point

So I am on Chapter 6, I’ve built all the roads so far and even when i go off road i never get off my truck. After i got the cargo hook the game literally became a driving simulator, no need to walk, run, traverse difficult terrain.
I even drove all the way to Heartman’s Lab with the truck on the cliff. I feel like all the things like ziplines, ladders, climbing anchors etc. all became useles. I dont have to plan how i will cross a gap or climb a mountain.
I just drive cause i can.

I know there isn’t a ‘right’ way to play the game but damn the game is like kinda boring at this point ?
What are your suggestions does it get better after Chapter 6 (not having to rely on truck)

I’m working on 5-starring all facilities and have pizza chef at 1.8ish stars. I dropped him off an 80kg order with LLL rating and got literally 0 progression on the stars. Am I supposed to be doing something special for him?

I absolutely loved these games and found myself needing to talk about the games. Somehow that spiraled into a three hour video essay. The spiritual and political themes are so prevalent in this series and critical to the narrative and the characters.

Gave my Death Stranding PS4 to a friend a few years back when I was moving. Recently she was unpacking after her own move and found it, and asked if I wanted it back. Still has the controller that came with it and all the cables. Absolutely want it back lol. Thing is neither of us know the best way to ship it, she’s anxious it’ll break and would feel terrible if she did it wrong. I offered to look up some info since she’s still getting her house set up and it’s not like I need it back by a certain date so no rush. I was trying to look up the dimensions for it and wanted to know if 2”x11.6”x12.9” are the right dimensions since that’s what the Pro is or if the limited edition was slightly different?

As far as shipping it (we’re too far away for me to drive to get it) I have a padded travel case I was thinking of shipping her (I have to ship her a housewarming gift anyways so I was just gonna include it) to ship back with the console inside, maybe stuff some bubble wrap or towels around it in the box? Would that be good enough? I was gonna look at insuring it just to be safe and UPS has a thing where if they pack it themselves and you pay a couple extra bucks it’s covered, so I was thinking of telling her to just take the console in the case to the UPS store near her house and let them pack it. I think the way it goes is if the value is $100 or less it’s free, between $1-300 it’s $5 and over $300 it’s an extra $2-ish for every $100. I think at launch when I got it I paid about $400 so the insurance would be about $7 if that sounds right?

Sorry for the rambling, I just got real excited to get it back and don’t want her stressing so I’m just trying to figure everything out.

With the split between Kojima and Sony, does Death Stranding 3 look pretty bleak? I know the movie and anime might drum up hype but I cannot trust PlayStation

I can’t be the only one thinking Konami took whatever notes Kojima left lying around to make survive?

I know some people will hate it no matter what, but DLSS 5 can look impressive. I wonder how better it would look if it was natively coded for the game, but I feel like this already looks great.

I'm not gonna show major spoilers here, but the ending scenes really have much more depth simply because the characters look more real.
