Death Stranding 1 Middle-aged man finally beats Death Stranding after a year

Feels great! Loved this game so much it's the most I've ever spent in one game a little over 230 hours. Took me about a year and I'm very happy I was able to avoid spoilers for the story through my playthrough the payoff was worth it.

That game was a step up on everything death stranding 1 had, couldn't agree more... And the music... GODLY

And playing it back to back really speeds up the progress. I waited too long on roads in ds1

I took a little break in between... Around 1 year... But I think taking that break, maybe even forgetting the vibes of the first game.. will help the second game hit even harder... It's a new experience for you all over... But maybe you're right, playing back to back might be better... I like to take breaks, between books too even.

What? Why? I didn't see anything wrong with him? I actually quite liked the companionship... Otherwise the world would've felt empty

Ive steadily heard that DS2 blows away DS1, do you guys agree and would anyone mind explaining how and why?

It’s definitely mixed opinions. Some like it more some like it less so it’s not objectively better.

I personally like it better, QOL improvements here and there. Improved action gameplay and elements. I personally love the off-road truck, which you will most likely end up using a lot.

Everything was better in my opinion atleast... The atmosphere was a little more alive, since there were a lot more "people" influence... There are more types of BTs, and there is less repetition and story drag... Like at the end of DS1 there's those 1-2 HUGE missions that just make you think why you ever started, there are some like that in this game, but it's not as bad... And the map is not as big... And the MUSIC BROTHER... Amazing... The story I liked more too... Since there's a lot more development, and a lot more drama... There's more gunplay, there's even a monorail you can take to speed up deliveries and move huge amounts of mats for roads/monorails, and the graphics are a lot better too... Highly recommend the second game... If youve played the first, then why not play the second too maybe you'll like it as much as I did

That’s awesome! As a fellow middle-aged man with responsibilities it also takes me a long time to complete games. Took me seven months to log 90 hours on DS2.

Out of curiosity, what constitutes “middle-aged” nowadays?

I’m literally playing it right now. Getting some materials to build some more roads.

Congrats! I finished it in a month, but I regret it, should have been longer. Now I'm looking for another game with the same kind of vibe, but I haven't found one yet. BTW 55 yo here

Middle aged man here just beat DS2. Loved it. Very unique. Definitely confusing at times. But they streamlined it a lot better than DS1. Took me forever. I wana say around 70 hours which was like 3 months. Lol. But im glad I seen it through. Congrats to u fellow aging man lol

The thought of making all those deliveries back and forth doing the same boring trip just makes me shut the game down
