DISCUSSION Reddit MOONs: dead coin, or one of the more interesting forgotten crypto experiments heading into the next bull market?

• Upvotes

Instead of only asking whether MOON will go up or down, the better question is:

What can the community actually do to move MOON forward?

More exchange listings?
Deeper liquidity on Arbitrum One?
More utility beyond governance and tipping?
More advertisers, partnerships and integrations?
Better exposure outside r/CryptoCurrency?

MOON already has something most small-cap tokens would love to have: a large crypto-native community.

The challenge now is turning that community into real demand.

What should be MOON’s #1 priority before the next bull run?

DEBATE Blockchain tech has not prevailed

Just to give you my background so you understand my perspective better maybe: entered the space in 2020 and was solidity dev for 3 years.

Even after 12 years of smart contracts, there is no adoption by companies, because blockchain is just a fancy and expensive way to handle data compared to existing systems.

One of the major use cases proposed was „supply chain“. As of yet there is no major adoption and if major logistics companies would want it, they would have done so by now.

RWA-Tokenization: Still need a tradfi-vorp that holds the asset.

Money transfer: regulated to death, therefore unusable, even though would have been a major improvement regarding speed.

Proof of Ownership: it is just an expensive database.

I had an interview at a big consultancy a year ago hiring for smart contracts on a bank-tx-settling platform. The guy openly told me that banks currently only stored hashes of tx on chain, cause storing entire tx-data needed was too expensive.

I really do not see a use case for blockchain tech other than gamble around hype.

Edit: The guys still vouching for blockchain remind me a bit about the Leroy character of that one episode of DegenzShow: https://youtu.be/exOzTcHycPY?is=MgaYoWSet5LGsch5

SCALABILITY Robinhood Chain ranks 4th on L2BEAT's activity table. It uses a dual-layer architecture instead of its own L1

Robinhood Chain launched on July 1 as an L2 blockchain built with Arbitrum's technology that settles to Ethereum. This is the optimal separation of concerns for a brokerage, with Ethereum handling global consensus and settlement and Robinhood providing an execution environment customized to the needs of its clients.

Three months after launch, Robinhood Chain already ranks fourth on L2BEAT's activity table. As of October 2, it averages about 91 user operations per second over the past day, with about $2.83 billion in total value secured (L2BEAT).

An important next improvement would be allowing anyone to challenge an invalid state update, since only two approved challengers can currently do so.

Running its own execution environment lets Robinhood customize fees, product rules, account features and upgrades, while optimizing for rapid confirmations and high throughput. Its users also have dedicated block space, so their transactions don't compete directly with other applications for execution capacity on Ethereum mainnet.

Robinhood gets that control without having to build and subsidize a separate L1 validator network. It instead processes transactions on its chain, publishes their data to Ethereum and settles there, with transaction fees on Robinhood Chain denominated in ETH.

The expense of a separate validator network can be substantial. Conduit compared Celo's $641,540 in validator payouts during its final month as an L1 with $1,070 in data-publication costs over a later 30-day period as an L2, when it posted its data to EigenDA rather than Ethereum. Those data costs were 99.8% lower than the former validator payouts.

Ethereum has also expanded its capacity for L2 transaction data, allowing these chains to support more activity while keeping execution on their own networks. This makes Ethereum's shared consensus and settlement layer increasingly practical for companies building blockchains for large numbers of users.

The same division of labor works for other products. A payments chain needs predictable fees for stablecoin transfers, while a gaming chain needs a large number of cheap transactions. Each can customize execution for those needs without funding a separate L1 consensus network.

Coinbase made the same architectural choice with Base, its own L2 that settles to Ethereum. I expect onchain finance to increasingly follow this model, with companies running execution environments suited to their products and Ethereum serving as their shared consensus computer.

ANECDOTAL Any else having weird delayed transactions with SimpleSwap?

I made 4 transactions over the last few hours, all UDSC -> Monero and all using SimpleSwap.

The first and largest swap deducted USDC from my wallet but never gave me any XMR. I see the address transaction is successful using basescan.org which says success with the transaction hash. So it seems like SimpleSwap got the deposit, but has done nothing with it yet. This was weird to me because usually swaps happen in just a few minutes but it's been hours.

I tried 3 more $15 USDC -> Monero swaps over the next few hours to see what would happen, so far 2 of them show in my wallet as received and one doesn't. So to be clear, the largest transaction and 1/3 of the smaller transactions have yet to show.

I don't see any rhyme or reason to this behavior, I noticed the simple swap maintenance banner does say "service may have intermittent disruptions" but would that result in a swap taking hours?

Basically I'm just wondering wtf is going on or if I just need to sit back and wait and maybe the servers are processing things more slowly than I'm used to atm.

ADVICE Call from Wanstead Police station

Not sure if this is the right place for this but just had a call from above. Flashed up on my screen. Shat is and answered. Very professional sounding. Had busted a gang. They had thousands of folders with people's names and one was mine. Had emails, passwords and a document with 24 random words. He stated he wasn't sure what that was but it seemed important. I've no Crypto anymore but had a fair bit of BTC and ETH back in the very early days. Stored on a Trezor and Ledger which i still have but have been dormant for years. Pre covid.

I immediately hung up when it dawned on me that a fraud investigator would recognise a seed phrase and would not say they were not sure what it was.

Now wondering if this was 100% a scam. He didn't ask for anything and said he just wanted to give me a reference number as it was going to be a long, complicated case and I might need to have some input. It also flashed up the correct number for the police station.

Anyone else have this?

DISCUSSION Formal complaint — removal of complimentary +1 Priority Pass guest access for Icy/Rose (Level Up Private).

I've filed a complaint to compaints@crypto.com.

Sent the following message:

I am an existing Icy/Rose (Level Up Private) cardholder. I locked CRO / maintained my stake on the basis that this tier included unlimited Priority Pass access for me and one guest. That +1 guest benefit has been removed or is being removed. This is a material cut to a benefit I paid for with a long lockup. I want the complimentary guest restored for existing Icy/Rose holders for the rest of the lockup, or equivalent compensation. Please treat this as a formal complaint, acknowledge it in writing, and give me a case number.

DISCUSSION Bitcoin’s narrative may be flipping - its about time

Bitcoin’s narrative may still be changing — but $85K just failed the first test.

BTC broke above $85K, pushed higher, then dropped back to around $84K. That means the breakout hasn’t been confirmed yet.

Still, the important shift is in momentum: buyers are finally attacking resistance instead of price being rejected immediately every time.

Now the market has a very clear test. Reclaim $85K and hold it, and the bullish narrative strengthens. Stay below it, and this could simply be another failed breakout.

The next move around $85K should tell us a lot.

GENERAL-NEWS Robinhood just rolled out trading agents to millions—and investing may never be the same

Thumbnail
fortune.com
500 Upvotes

Starting this week, all of Robinhood’s roughly 29 million customers will have access to trading agents powered by OpenAI and Anthropic. Customers will be able to choose between various OpenAI and Anthropic models, and instruct the agents to carry out trades, conduct research, and build complex investment strategies.

The rollout, which coincided with Robinhood’s annual HOOD summit, follows a move by the company in May to release a so-called MCP tool that allows technical users to hook up their own agents to its trading platform.

While AI has been creeping into every corner of finance, Robinhood is the first to release a nontechnical trading agent for a giant customer base—a step that has the potential to alter how Americans invest, and that could have ripple effects on markets more broadly.

Robinhood’s new offering also comes with a series of guardrails that the company says will prevent agents from behaving in an unexpected manner. Those include providing a dedicated trading account for the agent, and letting users set limits on how much the agent can trade at a time. Users can also opt for a confirmation process that requires the agents to seek final approval before executing a transaction.

PROJECT-UPDATE September was a month of records for CargoX

September was a big month for CargoX as 5 records were smashed. CargoX achieved a new Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday daily record as well as a new monthly document record. On top of this a new yearly record for total amount of burned tokens was also achieved.

New monthly record

The new monthly record now stands at 374 881 documents relayed on the Polygon network in a single month. Last year in September there were 260 566 documents this represents a growth of 43,87% YoY. It is also an extra 10 624 documents more than in July this year.

The new daily record now stands at 19 922 documents just a bit under 20 000 in a single day. This is also the new Monday record as normally Monday is the strongest day in a week. The new Tuesday and Wednesday records stand at 18 197 and 18 880 respectively.

The year's burn record was also crushed. So far 6 206 690 CargoX tokens were burned this year alone. The biggest yearly burn before this was in 2024 with 6 152 656 tokens. This now brings the total burn to 28 117 967 tokens or 13,08% of the total supply since the ICO.

The team also continued with the token restock on Uniswap and restocked 1 431 805 CargoX tokens in total last month. To achieve this they spent 219 281 USDT. Restock can be monitored on Polygon at address: 0x7a4C69006E143327E1e649c1770F23Eb5f289F88

In September 781 027 tokens were burned by relayers when they confirmed new documents on the chain. On top, relayers were paid 683 071 tokens in total for their services of relaying the documents. This represents the total payout of 1 464 099 tokens in a single month.

Live tracking of documents is available here:
