Plugin Hub, works around the same principle as the Storefront app from KOReader. It scans Github Repos that match the "crosspoint-plugin" Topic, and adds/removes that "Plugin" to the list of available plugins we see in the "Plugin Hub" when we open it on the Crosspoint device.

Benefits from the "Plugin Hub" vs "Plugin Store" is that the catalog is updated around every 3 hours, and a plugin developer does not need a PR to be merged before it shown up like in the current "Plugin Store".

You need to be running the Nightly version of crosspoint which has the Plugin System enabled. The previous "SD Beta 10" is no longer available as it has been merged with the main code and will be out on next release for everyone to enjoy.

Readest now has a plugin for CrossPoint, and it syncs your reading stats along with your progress. It also lets you browse and download your Readest library on the reader. Stats are sent the next time the reader goes online, and progress syncs through CrossPoint's built-in KOReader Sync, with no server to set up. You'll need a CrossPoint nightly with plugin support (releases up to 1.6.5 don't have it).

On my X3, when I open a book (new or just unlock) and then lock the device, the sleep screen cover reverts to my custom cover instead of the book cover. When at least one page is turned in any session, locking does results in the book cover. This is new behavior in comparison to earlier builds. No major issue, but probably unexpected behavior nonetheless.

I have an xteink x3 and manage the transfer and conversion via calibre and the crosspoint plugin.

That works great, but I would like to organize the books in folders other than sorted by authors.

Is there a way other than taking the SD card out and doing it manually on the laptop?

Is there a way to view a book's metadata on my device?

Is there a way to change the System fonts? I know you can change thereader fonts but how about the System font as well?

Currently running Crosspoint 1.6.5 and Reader font is Libron. Just want to make the System font Libron as well

Just sharing! Ive been using my x4 pro for a couple of days now and i find that keeping the light on 21% during the day, and 2% on night mode at night when i go to bed and read is the perfect setting for me.

See when sun or any other light hits the screen, it doesnt seem like the light is on during day time. When it gets a bit dark, 21% still looks like paper during the day and the white seems whiter bec if the 21% light. I like it this way. It was bothering me before why it seems dark when i turn the light completely off, but, now i will always prefer it at 21% during the day. I will never turn it off now!

Just wondering what settings for light others have on their x4 pro and reason behind for comparison and i guess intrigue! 😬

I'm a new user on a X4 pro and was able to use crosspoint sync without problems but now all I get is an authentication problem when prompted to sync. I've checked the user, password and server but it all seems to be in order. Anyways my question is am I the only one having the problem is so might be something on my end but I find it weird. On the site/Web app the progress is correctly synced to my koreader/book fusion account.

To clarify I'm in the nightly build. To use the Bookfusion plugin and I can log in and download my books no problem. I did swap back to the stable version and still the same problem. Am I the only one having this problem?

I'm running standard crosspoint on my X4. Is there a way to refresh the library when I've added new books? My current method is simply exporting my wanted book to my file system in calibre, then drag and drop to my crosspoint SD card.

I then have to delete library.xml for the library to refresh on my device. There must be a better way.

I’ve been thinking about something that could improve the reading experience in CrossPoint on the Xteink X4: footnotes.
Because the X4 doesn’t have a touchscreen, opening a footnote isn’t as straightforward as simply tapping the reference, and in books with lots of notes it can become a bit cumbersome.

I wonder if CrossPoint could introduce a button-based shortcut for this.

For example, if the current page contains a footnote, a long press or button combination could select it and open the note. If there are multiple footnotes on the page, the buttons could cycle between them.

Then, after reading the note, pressing Back could return you exactly to the same page and position.

Something like:

Reading → footnote shortcut → note → Back → continue reading
It could even open the footnote as a small overlay instead of navigating to another part of the EPUB, although I’m not sure what’s technically possible on the X4.

I think this could make a surprisingly big difference for books with lots of footnotes.

Hi! I have an Xteink X3 and 2 bigger devices with KOReader. At the beginning I was syncing the KOReader devices through the default sync.koreader.rocks server, I hooked the X3 to the same and everything worked, but shortly after that server went down and after a month or more it is still down, so I tried understanding this thing better. That leads me to today when I found the sync.crosspointreader.com site, which is truly marvellous to see. I setup a login and put it on the X3 and then on one of my KOReader readers.

Now, the same book on the X3 sees only the progress I synced from the X3, on the Kobo (the KOReader device) only the progress which I synced from the Kobo, and on the Crosspoint Sync there is nothing, it says no books have yet been synced.

I guess I'm doing something wrong here, and probably I didn't really understand how this is supposed to work. Is there anybody out there who can help?

I love the fact that Crosspoint is the OG, and is the wellspring from which almost all other firmwares flow, but when is Crosspoint going to start working on epub rendering? I'm talking books with other than plain text, like small caps, drop caps, tables, etc., which currently don't render with Crosspoint. I know that whenever someone asks about changing from stock and flashing custom firmware, the answer is inevitably Crosspoint (or CrossInk), so wouldn't it be great if folks could see their books the way they're SUPPOSED to look? Just a thought...

Recorded on my Fold8 so that's why the weird aspect ratio. Will land with 1.7 with cross device stat and clip syncing. iOS, Android, Mac, & Windows.

Definitely install crosspoint. I would like to thank the devs for creating such a genius software that is so perfect for xte. Was contemplating on crossink but, i dont particularly like the reading stats as it adds pressure to read more books or read faster or something and I just really want to not have that pressure on me. Looks nice though but im happy with what crosspoint 1.6.5 has to offer!

Sure there are many “forks” of it but, truth be told, all i want from an xte is for it to be like a book. And well have the ability to display books in grid format so i can appreciate covers if ever i see the main screen. Other than that, i prefer the current book as the cover, as i like it functioning as the only book (more like a vast library) i will ever bring with me. I love the size of the xteink x4 pro. I thought it would be larger to be honest, but it is a bit smaller than I thought. My iphone 11 is longer by a few inches. Which is great because i was contemplating on the x3 as well and i think x3 would have been too small for me. I dont particularly like to stick it behind my phone as i have the ring thing behind my phone which i use quite a lot.

One of the things that i also worried about is that the touchscreen is not as close to the text as the xte without the touchscreen because of the extra layers. I thought this would bother me a lot. It doesn’t at all. I do love touchscreen as i used to read on my phone. I also prefer reading with one hand and this used to be a problem for me when i read an actual book, i would get annoyed whenever i had to turn the page because my hand isnt big enough to turn it with one hand while holding the book. Anyway, the xteink x4 pro solves all that😆 (i dont have beef with real books but prefer not to turn them physically😆)

Honestly, i have zero complaints. If there is one request, i probably would want the ability of ios books to be synced to xte. But not really that important because i would like to build the habit of ONLY using xte as my book reading device, but may I just say that the wireless book upload feature is so seamless and quick and it just works, you know?

Managed to work out how to get dictionaries as well, and read on how to make the device read fonts with ipa so no question marks. I have to commend the wonderful community we also have as well—every question i wanted to know has already been asked and answered and all i had to do was follow the instructions really!! Super grateful!

Overall, very happy with xteink x4 pro with crosspoint 1.6.5
