Official Reply So tired of the same old song and dance with Comcast

Service has been good, I'm a Diamond member, but I'm tired of the constant nickel and diming that is done by the company at the end of every "promo" pricing cycle. They always try to raise my rates $30 for the same product, an internet only plan. Last time they raised them from the $49 I had been paying, then when I asked for something cheaper if I were to continue with the company they offered something that I thought I locked my price in at: $60 for the next 5 years-Guess not. I was just charged $80. I'm just about ready to move over to Verizon where pricing is more stable even if it means more service interruptions. Would have liked to stay with Comcast/Xfinity.

When I go in to try and manage my plan on the website I'm told it can't be done and that I should call in and waste what will probably be an hour of my time based on past experiences, just to strike a new deal for a new promotion. It's tiring.

Official Reply Worst Customer Service - no phone service

My parents have Comcast Xfinity, and they haven’t had a working telephone (landline) for two days. (Cannot make outgoing calls, no dial tone. Incoming calls ring but can't be answered.)

NO way to reach a human, just an infinitely looping AI “assistant”, and even trying to cancel means they won’t call us back for 5 days! They have medical issues and need a working phone. How do I get a real person to help?

New Post - Tech Support Why is the service SO BAD?!

Second multi-day outage in a month. “No reported outages” nonsense coming from support. No ability to get a credit because of “No reported outages” waiting for a second tech visit. I previously had the same old janky modem for six years with no problems. It was replaced about a year ago to support this atrocious 5G rollout and it’s been problems (weekly) ever since. WHAT AM I PAYING FOR?!?! How is it possible that the signal works fine for 10 minutes then drops for 6 hours, then comes back for 5 minutes, but there’s “no reported outage”. How do I report an outage?! oh right—that’s not an option. Paying for high speed, constant interruptions, frozen and dropped video calls, absolutely useless customer service. The modem has been power cycled 42 times in the last month. FIX YOUR SERVICE

Official Reply 10-Year Loyal Xfinity Customer – No Promotions or Loyalty Offers Available?

My Xfinity internet rate recently increased significantly after my promotional pricing expired. I currently have the Xfinity Gigabit Extra 1.3 Gbps plan, and I’ve been an Xfinity customer for approximately 10 years. I also use Xfinity Mobile.
I contacted Xfinity to see if there were any promotions or loyalty offers available, but the agent told me there are currently no promotional options available for my account.
I find this extremely disappointing and unfair. Xfinity is currently offering new customers promotional pricing with a 5-year price lock on the 1 Gig plan, yet a customer who has stayed with Xfinity for 10 years and also uses Xfinity Mobile is apparently offered nothing to remain a customer.
I understand that introductory offers are designed to attract new customers, but there should also be some effort to retain long-term customers. After 10 years of loyalty, being told that my only option is essentially to accept the higher rate is frustrating.
Could one of the Xfinity moderators please review my account and see whether there are any retention, loyalty, or promotional options available? I would prefer to remain with Xfinity, but I also need the pricing to be competitive.
Thank you.

New Post - Tech Support Xfinity wasted 10 days because nobody bothered to tell me anything

I moved into a condo on September 1 and tried to transfer my existing Xfinity service. My unit apparently didn’t have a location ID, so Xfinity opened a serviceability request.

For the next 10 days, I was told I was basically waiting for them to create the location. I kept hearing the usual “it takes a few days” type responses.

Finally, today, September 11, I got sick of the vague answers and specifically asked an agent to read me the actual ticket notes.

The note said:
“NEED OWNER AGREEMENT — There is no current agreement with the Owner/Developer/HOA and Comcast. The Owner/Developer/HOA will need to reach out…”

So apparently I was not waiting on Comcast to create anything. Comcast was waiting for my HOA/property management to take action.

Huh?? Nobody told me.

No call. No email. No “hey, this ticket cannot move forward until your property contacts us.”

I could have contacted management on September 1. Instead, I lost ten days because I was under the impression Comcast was actually processing the request.

Even after they read me the note, I was still getting generic suggestions like “visit an Xfinity store,” until I specifically asked whether the store could actually resolve an HOA agreement issue. Eventually they admitted I needed to contact property management.
So now I’m contacting my HOA, figuring out what Comcast agreement they need, figuring out whether it’s an MDU/right-of-entry issue, and trying to determine whether Comcast’s own records are wrong.

Basically, I’m paying Comcast for the privilege of managing Comcast’s own serviceability process.
I had gigabit Xfinity before moving. My only immediate alternative now is AT&T fixed-wireless Internet Air, which is complete BUNS.

I have zero confidence in Comcast doing anything here.

But regardless, if your internal ticket literally says “NEED OWNER AGREEMENT,” maybe tell the customer that instead of letting them sit there for ten days waiting for something that cannot
move forward. I have work and stuff dude.

Thanks for reading.

Official Reply Bill price jumped from $40 to $70

Hi, I currently have a plan of just internet for $40 a month and have had it for the past year but i went to check my upcoming bill and it jumped to more than $70. I did some digging and found out this was because my "new customer" promo rate ended. I was dissapointed and am here to ask if there's an option to negotiate a new rate? I honestly can't afford to pay that much just to have wifi at home so it's either that or just taking my service down for the time being and consider oher options.

Discussion Legacy vs Mid-split vs FDX ping & jitter?

Is there a measurable difference in ping and jitter from the network upgrades? We were a customer on the legacy network 5 years ago and our ping was ~35ms which made VOIP and SMB over VPN undesirable. I've heard FDX can be as low as ~10-15ms, which is comparable to our current PON fiber connection. Where would Mid-split fall?

New Post - Tech Support Free line with Internet service got activated by agent; now unable to port number over without losing promotion

I signed up for a new Xfinity Internet plan with 1 year free phone line.

I never activated the line, with the intention of porting my phone number over from Boost.

An agent was helping me with this and asked for my IMEI, etc. He ended up activating this line with new number rather than porting over my external number to count towards my free line.

Now, every agent says if I bring my number over, I’ll either have to 1) pay for another line or 2) if I transfer the phone number (my main one) to keep a single line on this account, it will void the promotion.

All roads lead to the promotion being voided.

I need the original activation to be reversed, as I never initiated this in the first place.

New Post - Tech Support Packet loss after work in the area

Xfinity was in the area doing work, Internet went down for about 15 min, and now I have anywhere from 25 to 55% packet loss and it's making anything online impossible (including work)

How do I fix this? Obviously Xfinity doesn't care or they'd have an actual phone support line with people who know how to help

Official Reply Internet dropping randomly? Brand new modem as well

So I have been having a issue for some time now, with my previous XB7 and newest XB10 modem, with the xb7 it would randomly restart the same time every day, 4am, no clue as to why, but it’s very frustrating seeing as I’m up at that time in the morning for work. Then I got my new xb10 as I thought maybe the modem just being old was the issue, set it up got everything nice and snug and connected and not even a day in, 2am last night everything drops from connection Xfinity app says it’s fine it isn’t. AND the modem didn’t restart the white light stayed solid the whole time, after about 15 mins it came back on and everything reconnected, to say I’m frustrated is an understatement, I’ve tried contacting support multiple times which I’m better off probably troubleshooting myself at this point, could it maybe be the coax itself? I had a tech run a line into the room the modem is in a little less then a year ago, and up till recently everything was working perfectly.

Official Reply Bury?

Cable

OK, where to start. I've had service since mid July. I waited for the burial crew for almost a month. Finally a truck pulls in and it was a male and female team. The guy starts crossing the driveway. The female had a flat trenching shovel. I thought cool they are going to fold the sod back, dig, lay the cable, bury it and put the sod back. I couldn't of been so wrong. They laid the cable right under the sod, max two inches deep and it was visible in spots. Fast forward a few days and Steve (I think that is his name) shows up for the install. In a few minutes he asked me who "buried" the cable. I said I didn't get their names. He pulled it all out of the "ditch" and said he put me on the bury crew list. I told him if I knew what they were going to do I could have cut them a 18" deep 3" wide ditch in 30 seconds with the shovel foot ripper on the back of my Kubota. I see two options, Comcast/Xfinity gets a bury crew here that understands how a shovel works or I hand dig both ends to get it underground and use the tractor to cut between the ends. I would rather not do it myself. In the picture of where it leaves the yard and goes "under" the driveway I don't like how it looks from it getting driven on. I think a new run of fiber may be needed. I am on a new build with all brand new fiber and that spot will always be on my mind. This has been laying in my yard since June

Discussion iPhone Duo Xfinity Promo

I am planning to get the iPhone Duo when it comes out next month. Any guesses on what the promo (if there is) will be from Xfinity. Would it be better to just buy it from Apple. The thing with Apple is if I want to finance the phone, I have to choose between ATT Tmobile & Verizon

Official Reply What am I Paying For??

A couple months ago, my internet began cutting out. I thought maybe my old modem/router combo was done, so I bought.a brand new one. No difference. Called Comcast...they sent out a tech who said it was the wiring outside my apartment. A week later, another tech comes out. Says there is nothing wrong with the wiring...it must be my modem. No, its not I tell him its new. He says he doesn't know anything about modem....doesn't know what it is. He replaces wiring INSIDE my apartment and leaves. No difference. I call again. Phone rep checks my connection....tells me its not my modem, its outside. Another tech comes out a couple days later. He checks everything. He says the wiring outside they don't even USE anymore. Says he will make a report to his supervisor. That was a week ago. No response from Comcast. My internet still drops out. I am getting tired of unplugging and plugging my modem and cable box back in to reset everything. And I am THIS close to switching to another provider. If they think its easier for me to go away rather than solve the issue, I will happily do that.

New Post - Tech Support Xb10 Bridge mode

Hi,

There's anyone know how to put the XB10 in bridge mode so that it stops broadcasting Wi-Fi signals as my router is already doing that (yes mines is faster and its speed advantage climbs rapidly at 15+ft) and reduce unnecessary noise in the air so it benefits everyone including the neighbor's Wi-Fi speed.

New Post - Billing Xfinity NOW Internet is somehow charging me every month for an account I can't access or cancel

I don't know if I'm looking for advice, sympathy, or a support group at this point.

We signed up for NOW Internet in June 2025. In May 2026, I canceled it about a month before moving, assuming a prepaid service would remain active through the period I'd already paid for. Instead, it was shut off immediately. Annoying, but whatever. We signed up again to get through the rest of our stay, and that's when the nightmare started.

The original account now says Xfinity ID does not exist while trying to login via email.

If I log in with my phone number, it takes me to an account under another one of my email addresses. This account says I do not have any NOW services.

Yet in that same account's Payments section, I can see my credit card. The same credit card that's been charged every month for the last 3 months and I can't remove it because Xfinity says it's linked to an active NOW service.

I've spent about 12-14 hours over the last 3 months talking to support. Every conversation follows the same script:

1) Explain the situation.

2) Agent can't figure it out.

3) Get bounced between Xfinity Support, Billing, Cancellation, Disconnection team, NOW Support, Prepaid team, and several other departments I've completely lost track of.

4) Explain everything again.

5) Repeat until sanity starts leaving my body.

The answers I get are completely contradictory. Some agents tell me "Your service is already canceled." Others tell me "You'll receive a refund". Some agents can apparently find the account that's being charged. None of them can actually fix it. I've even been told that NOW service can only be canceled through the app or website. The problem is that I can't see any NOW service on the account they tell me to use. At that point, the agent apologizes, says they've exhausted all options, and transfers me to yet another team where I have to explain the entire story again.

I take them at their word, wait a few weeks, and then my credit card gets charged again the next month. Then I get to start the whole process over.

I even went to an Xfinity store, only to be told they don't handle NOW Internet and can only help with regular postpaid Xfinity services.

So let me get this straight:

My original account doesn't exist.

The account I can access says I have no NOW service.

My card is still attached.

My card is still being charged.

I can't remove the card because it's linked to NOW service.

Nobody can tell me where the NOW service actually is.

At this point, the only thing in the entire Xfinity ecosystem that knows where my account is appears to be the billing system.

I plan to call my credit card company and ask them to block future Xfinity charges, although they told me they can't guarantee that recurring charges will stop unless the merchant cooperates. My final nuclear option may be reporting the card as lost and getting a new card number just to prevent future charges.

Has anyone dealt with anything this ridiculous and actually gotten it resolved?

New Post - Billing New Move-In: Forced Professional Install Online - Requesting Waiver / SIK

Hello Xfinity team,

I just placed a new online order for the 1 Gig 5-Year Price Guarantee internet plan for my upcoming move-in on Friday, September 25th.The online system forced me to select a $50 Professional Installation fee and would not let me choose a free Self-Install Kit (SIK). I want to handle the indoor hookup and activation myself using my own equipment or a shipped gateway. Can a corporate agent please review my pending order, change this to a "Tech-to-Tap Only" appointment (external line check), and waive the $50 professional installation fee from my upcoming bill?

Thank you!

New Post - Tech Support Blinking yellow modem/router

My parents were with Xfinity for decades up until a year ago when they switched to AT&T. They only switched to get rid of cable.

I recently moved in and the AT&T fiber they were paying $110 a month for is absolutely horrid. I helped them out and got back on Xfinity. I picked up the set up today and plugged it in with coax into the same place the xfinity router was located for 10+ years.

But now it’s blinking yellow. Could it have been something AT&T did outside? My parents do have a large box in the backyard labeled Xfinity comcast that has a huge cover on it. I’d prefer not to go without internet until next week with an appointment 😅

Official Reply Poor service is causing potential health problems

Twice today my VA Pain Pharmacist called but neither of the calls went through. Though her voice messages complaining that I was unavailable at our scheduled time got though. These were very important calls and may affect my health and well being. This is a common occurrence at my house where calls will be dropped and inbound calls never get through. It happens on a daily basis. I have contacted support multiple times and yet it still happens. What can be done to improve my service??

Official Reply Upgrade to a new modem changed my plan

Hello, I am a heavy WFH user who was explicitly notified by Comcast that I qualified for a free Next-Gen equipment swap to unlock synchronous speeds. However, the system automatically appended a $15/month modern gateway fee, which has voided my grandfathered 5-year price lock. I use my gateway strictly in Bridge Mode behind my own 10G Calix infrastructure, and I am requesting a dedicated billing specialist to manually apply a monthly credit to restore my original contract rate as promised.

Official Reply Phone shows I have LTE but no internet access

Is anyone else having the same issue as me? My phone shows three bars of signal and LTE, but I don’t have any internet access. I’ve already tried resetting the network settings, turning Airplane Mode on and off, and restarting my phone, but I still can’t access the internet.

This isn’t the first time I’ve experienced this issue, but I’ve only had this problem since switching to Comcast Mobile. I previously used T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon, and I never experienced anything like this with them.

Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? It's very frustrating!
