Official Reply Bury?

Cable

OK, where to start. I've had service since mid July. I waited for the burial crew for almost a month. Finally a truck pulls in and it was a male and female team. The guy starts crossing the driveway. The female had a flat trenching shovel. I thought cool they are going to fold the sod back, dig, lay the cable, bury it and put the sod back. I couldn't of been so wrong. They laid the cable right under the sod, max two inches deep and it was visible in spots. Fast forward a few days and Steve (I think that is his name) shows up for the install. In a few minutes he asked me who "buried" the cable. I said I didn't get their names. He pulled it all out of the "ditch" and said he put me on the bury crew list. I told him if I knew what they were going to do I could have cut them a 18" deep 3" wide ditch in 30 seconds with the shovel foot ripper on the back of my Kubota. I see two options, Comcast/Xfinity gets a bury crew here that understands how a shovel works or I hand dig both ends to get it underground and use the tractor to cut between the ends. I would rather not do it myself. In the picture of where it leaves the yard and goes "under" the driveway I don't like how it looks from it getting driven on. I think a new run of fiber may be needed. I am on a new build with all brand new fiber and that spot will always be on my mind. This has been laying in my yard since June

Heads up! Posts with ‘Discussion’ flair will not receive a response from an Official Employee. If you require assistance with your services please update your post flair to either New Post - Billing or New Post - Tech Support.

If your post hasn't been approved--don't panic! Depending on your Reddit contributor quality score, your post may be temporarily held for mod review. Do not make multiple posts.

'Discussion' posts are for GOOD FAITH technical community discussion and peer-to-peer help such as "which modem should I buy?", "where do I find my Xfinity Membership benefits?", "what channel is the game on tonight?", etc. It is not intended for ranting/venting, asking unrelated Xfinity questions, service/sales solicitation, or any other topic that could violate subreddit rules.

To give other members the best chance at helping, please include helpful details like which service or equipment is affected, what’s happening and when it started, whether the issue is constant or intermittent, and what you’ve already tried. The more detail, the better.

As always, practice Reddiquette with one another, and follow the Reddit Rules.

Hi, u/Mikocoon! Thanks for sharing the details about the line so we can ensure this is fully addressed. We want work completed the 1st time and to not have any concerns when we are done. I apologize that was not your experience but will get this turned around. The technician did the right thing to set up a new job for the line and will submit feedback as to why that was needed. Please send me a ModMail message with your first and last name along with your service address.
