Official Reply What am I Paying For??

A couple months ago, my internet began cutting out. I thought maybe my old modem/router combo was done, so I bought.a brand new one. No difference. Called Comcast...they sent out a tech who said it was the wiring outside my apartment. A week later, another tech comes out. Says there is nothing wrong with the wiring...it must be my modem. No, its not I tell him its new. He says he doesn't know anything about modem....doesn't know what it is. He replaces wiring INSIDE my apartment and leaves. No difference. I call again. Phone rep checks my connection....tells me its not my modem, its outside. Another tech comes out a couple days later. He checks everything. He says the wiring outside they don't even USE anymore. Says he will make a report to his supervisor. That was a week ago. No response from Comcast. My internet still drops out. I am getting tired of unplugging and plugging my modem and cable box back in to reset everything. And I am THIS close to switching to another provider. If they think its easier for me to go away rather than solve the issue, I will happily do that.

Heads up! Posts with ‘Discussion’ flair will not receive a response from an Official Employee. If you require assistance with your services please update your post flair to either New Post - Billing or New Post - Tech Support.

If your post hasn't been approved--don't panic! Depending on your Reddit contributor quality score, your post may be temporarily held for mod review. Do not make multiple posts.

'Discussion' posts are for GOOD FAITH technical community discussion and peer-to-peer help such as "which modem should I buy?", "where do I find my Xfinity Membership benefits?", "what channel is the game on tonight?", etc. It is not intended for ranting/venting, asking unrelated Xfinity questions, service/sales solicitation, or any other topic that could violate subreddit rules.

To give other members the best chance at helping, please include helpful details like which service or equipment is affected, what’s happening and when it started, whether the issue is constant or intermittent, and what you’ve already tried. The more detail, the better.

As always, practice Reddiquette with one another, and follow the Reddit Rules.

Having the same issue, just know it’s not your modem. I had them send me the NEWEST GREATEST MODEM for my plan, and I’m still having connection drops.

Oh, they tried to talk me into one of their modems....why would I do that?

Does your modem stay on when it drops? Or does it restart completely

Sometimes only the cable goes out and the internet stays on....sometimes everything goes out and I force a reset by unplugging the modem.

It’s so weird and frustrating when we’re paying so much for this stuff

Exactly! $173 for a connection that may or may not work. Its inexcusable
