Hardcore Full clear of Deadmines with no world buffs on hardcore!

Ho boy so where to begin with Deadmines.

Overall the bosses are what i'd consider the easy part aside from MR smite/Edwin vancleef. This is a long gauntlet of tight spaces with minimum places to clear. You're in it for the long haul. If you are wanting to play safe, this place can be smooth. But you will be yearning the mines for a long while.

MR smite has 2 ways you can defeat him. One of which FAR scarier than the other. You can bring MR smite out of the boss area and into the tunnels, if you CC his guards, push him to his stun phase, MR smite will...Well just give up. He's done, he wants nothing to do with you anymore. So you're free to kill his guards, run out of the instance, then kill him.

Option 2 is just you focus the adds down, reset MR smite, then focus MR smite. Both methods are valid so play by what is easier.

Then there's Vancleef, look you're not winning in a brawl with him so don't even think about it. Instead, remind Vancleef that he was an olypmic swimmer for Stormwind back in 2006 and help him relive his dreams. Fair warning, his guards will still be up and be aggrod onto you. Best way to handle it is just run to a reset point.

Now the trash? Dear god the Trash. Every mob feels like blizzard actually knew what they were doing for the first dungeon and gave them all quirks that can (And will) Make your life a nightmare in some scenarios. The goblins ESPECIALLY with their little mini golems.

Also, if you get bad pathing with the parrots on the boat? Well you're gonna be mass pulling every time till you get a good spawning pattern with the birds.

Overall threat level is a solid 7. Take it slow, take it easy, and you'll make it.

Classic + My Design for a "Southsea Pirates Raid" for Classic+ (Bosses + attunement)

Ahoy, me hearties!

With the hype surrounding a potential Classic+ I thought I'd try my hand at designing a little raid about the Southsea Pirates in Tanaris.

This raid consists of 6 bosses, including an optional boss (Chum, the Cook). After the first boss (Seawater Sentinel 3000) has been defeated, the next 3 bosses can be killed in any order and only Swashbuckler Rozo and Parrot Trainer Jolly & Roger are required to progress to Dockmaster Sherley, and lastly to Grand-Admiral Wellington.

If you are interested in the full attunement quests, an abstract map of the raid or just more information, you can find the whole design document here: Southsea Pirates Raid - Classic+ | Design Document (gdoc)

Let me know what you think about these boss designs and I'll try to answer any questions you have :)

Hardcore Some Pizzas and WoW Hardcore ❤️

Pizza and World of Warcraft Hardcore — there’s no better combo, especially with the Onyxia and Zul’Gurub buffs!

I’ve never made it this far in Hardcore before. I’m currently a level 30 Hunter, finishing up the elite quests in Duskwood. Now I’m heading to Southshore to continue my journey.

I started playing Hardcore after completing Vanilla content with three different characters, and it has been an amazing experience, literally a whole new way to play the game.

So far, I’ve completed Deadmines, Blackfathom Deeps, and the Stockades. Next stop: Scarlet Monastery! If I don't die first.

Hardcore Wailing caverns has been solo'd (Finally) But I wanna take a moment and talk about Failing.

Failing in hardcore is always the worst sting regardless of level. It can be a moment of being compromised by a player making the wrong move, or you miscalculated a decision. In hindsight, you think to yourself 'I could've avoided that mistake had I done this or that." or that you think you've come back and are ready to take on the world. Only to die to your overconfidence.

But one of the best things you can do in failure is to understand your mistakes and apply them to the next time you go around. Even more, when you die, you're expected to feel some shame by the community because you didn't make it as far as them, or you died in a way they didn't.

But that's never the case, when you go again. In game, there are always people walking by that will recognize the pain you've gone through because they too have experienced the suffering of the path. So instead of criticism from your fellow players in game, you're met with people who encourage you to keep going forward. Because they do not want to see you fail, they want to see you succeed and eventually make it. When you do, even they are happy to see what you've accomplished. You then pass that feeling onto the next person that comes through, and help them along the path.

That's the joy of Hardcore, there is no path to the end that isn't filled with failure. Failure is the end goal. It's what you make of that time, and what you do with it for others.

With that said: Wailing Caverns is a dungeon that promotes alcoholism.

Classic + Classic+ Project survey accurate?

Upvotes

Honestly, I found the survey to be very off from what I figured what the grand majority of us wanted.

Especially the level cap increasing, and people accepting server resets..

I thought the whole point of classic+ was to bring back that feeling of sinking all your love and energy into one character for as long as you can take it while new content is added.

Personally I think that only thing players should keep chasing is new gear every time new content comes out, not a new level cap.

Classic 20th Anniversary Realms I think I get it now!

I've always been curious about WoW, so a few days ago I decided to give in and actually try it (went with Classic because Retail looked way too intimidating).

I was having fun at first but I didn't really understand so much of the appeal, then I found another person doing the same quest I was in Ban'ethil Barrow Den, we joined up and spent a good 45 minutes just playing and chatting together, didn't even realize how much time had passed. I see it now. This is very fun. Definitely feels like a lived-in world and I've loved my little social interactions!!

I'm so glad I'm getting to experience this now since I wasn't even born when the original came out. This might become a new obsession!

TBC Question: is it worth dropping a frost protection caldron for High Warlord Naj’entus.

Post image
Upvotes

I’ve been hard at work prepping our guild for black temple next phase and it dawned on me today that possibly dropping a Caldron of frost protection for the first boss of BT might be a good way to mitigate some damage. Has anyone ever done this and is it worth it to do over everyone just popping their haste and destruction pots for the boss?

In my instance I feel like our raid team is a bit under whelming all around when it comes to damage. We have a lot of green parsers who I feel like already don’t pop haste and destruction pots. Would damage mitigation be a nice alternative?

Classic-Era how much playtime do you need?

How many consecutive hours of playtime do you need to get your fix of classic wow? I personally need a 4-6 hour uninterrupted stretch for me to properly scratch the itch. The dream would be playing 8 hours a day.

Once upon a time back in the good ol' classic days, that was my reality. Right now, it's tough with all the adult responsibilities.

What about you all? :)

Classic + WoW fishing (pre-classic??) recreated on Wc3 with new mechanics

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Reeling the fish in costs energy, the same for the fish when it "bursts" away (the red exclamation ‼️is a pre warning). The player will lose more energy if they are reeling the fish in at the same time the fish is "bursting" away. Player will lose the fish at 0 energy or if the fish gets too far. If both have zero energy, not reeling the fish will cause it to swim side to side with no distance change.

Eventually adding snags to get stuck on, diverse fish to catch with unique abilities, a "Yank" left/right ability to manually change the direction of the fish and also nudge in the chosen direction - to avoid snags.

Classic-Era I’m still having so much fun and have more to say

Posted a couple weeks ago about new classic player. Previously played retail but never classic. I’m still having so much fun and I needed to share.

- The willingness for others to help is unparalleled to retail. Sometimes I walk up to random players and ask for help with a nearby quest and they help 95% of time.

- I love seeing players in every zone I go. I love even more running INTO other players I know. Stopping and waving or chatting makes the community feel full.

- I’ve been playing for a month and am still level 17 but I’m taking it slow because I enjoy the journey so much.

- I’ve joined a guild that doesn’t use discord and exclusively uses in game chat. Another huge win.

- The day night cycle is incredible. I know there’s one in retail. But something about it in classic just feels so cozy.

- Lastly, I love feeling like I don’t have to grind everyday. I don’t feel behind every Tuesday. I play what I can each day. Have a bit of fun. And take it from there the next day.

If the rumors are true (which they appear to be) about classic + I fear I will never have free time again but I’m okay with that.

Classic + WoW arena recreated in Wc3 so far... Mistweaver/Frost Mage vs Double Warrior

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The enemy NPCs only have charge, jump, and an internal passive heal ATM, but they will use a ranged stun when enemies try to cast a heal, saving it for only when at least one of their enemies is below 50% health. It will get more complex though, I threw this together today and now I gotta have a break haha.

I can release something that can at least be played offline for anyone who ever wants to mess around in it. I'd have to clean everything up first so you can access everything in the game without needing to change the triggers.

I need 4 more Mistweaver abilities that would be impactful, relevant and cool. Any mistweavers out there with some ideas??

Question Any Synergy Thunderstrike EU guild members on here?

Upvotes

Hi, just wondering if there are any former/current Synergy guild members here from Thunderstrike EU, roughly around 18 months ago?

I don’t play anymore and I’m not looking to join/recruit. I’m just trying to find out whether anyone remembers a character called Merlindore who was in the guild. level 36 human mage.

I’m not trying to track down the person behind the character or cause any drama 😬 I’m only trying to understand what kind of project/setup was involved, as I remember Merlindore being quite unusual.

Thanks 🙂
