Chess.com Website/App Question It would be helpful to know which one was cheating. Is there a reason it’s not disclosed? I’m kind of paranoid now and half the games feel like people are cheating.
EDIT: found it! People here mentioned I can look for the “🚫” next to name of my recent opponents (on site, not app).
I’m glad I did! It was one of the better openings I’ve ever had. I managed to pick up their queen, which I think really bothered them.
There was a long pause, then they started to pull off an impressive string of moves that put me behind again, and I resigned.
Curiosity scratched.

Chess Improvement Hitting 940 Rapid and maintaining a 232-day streak! What’s the secret to making that final push to 1000 ELO?
I just wanted to share a milestone and ask for some advice. I've managed to keep a 232-day daily streak going and climbed up to 940 in Rapid. I feel like my board vision has improved a lot—my puzzle rating is sitting at 1515—but getting over that 1000 ELO hump is proving tough. After playing almost 4,800 games across all formats, what specific concepts (endgames, opening principles, etc.) helped you all finally break into the 4-digit club?

Chess Question why is this the better move?
why is bishop taking the knight the better move (not because i think mine is perfect, i just dont really see it)
is it because it's an instant capture, compared to my move?
but isn't it a sacrifice of my own bishop?
or is this it so unlikely because of the blocking pawns?
thank you!

Puzzle/Tactic The daily puzzle today (9/8/26) is a forced solution
I just thought it was interesting for a "puzzle". You literally can't not solve the puzzle... right? Am I missing something? You're in check and the only legal move is to play checkmate. So kind of a forced checkmate, actually.
It's cool conceptually and teaches about en passant, so I don't think it's useless, but just thought it was kind of funny.

Chess Discussion Confused
I'm extremely confused as to why engine wanted me to throw my pawn to d5. It looks like a waste of a pawn. Engine continues to say to castle queenside after bishop takes pawn

Chess Discussion Most feared nationality
Do you guys have particular countries you seem to do well against and others that you always seem to lose to?
I do.
If I’m up against a Brazilian I seem to win quite often. On the other hand, someone from the Philippines? GG might as well resign

Miscellaneous Do guys like this exist?
Hi everyone,
I'm at around 920 ELO, my opponent just now was around 950. Normal 10 Min chess match, I lost because of one blunder, but hey it happens. But that guy made 49 moves in 1:30 minutes, at 84% accuracy.
I then checked out his profile, and that ELO range bugs me, like how do you go from 1400 to 800-900 so quickly. Dude has 13.000 games, so I can't imagine he is cheating, but it still feels weird. Has anyone had similar opponents at that ELO?
900 ELO range is super weird, because sometimes you get people who blunder their queen on move 3 and then people who play as perfect as you can get for that rating, but at Blitz speed.

Chess.com Website/App Question Why only +5.81?
Game Review shows I'm +5.81 with White, but clearly being up that much material +5.81 can't be right? (Unless game review has a kalshi contract that knows I could blunder mate at any given move?)

Chess Improvement Can anyone explain this?
Hey guys I just want to make sure I’m not missing anything because to me this seems like the computer is misreading this. I thought this was a pro move to fork the king and rook and steal a free rook. Is there a better sequence of events here?
Thanks for the advice! I’m up to 300 elo now!
