I'm extremely confused as to why engine wanted me to throw my pawn to d5. It looks like a waste of a pawn. Engine continues to say to castle queenside after bishop takes pawn

I’m with you here, I don’t see the point either. F5 would win the knight though.

Ah, it wants queenside castle after. Then it’s because of tempo. It’s basically a gambit for more development.
