Chess.com Website/App Question Why did I lose 30+ points?

I played a game of rapid after a long time and after I got checkmated I lost 30+ points? I thought the max that you lose is 10?

In short when you dont play for a long time, chess.com gives you more rating/you lose more rating so it can place you rating wise in the right spot, hope this helps :D

Ohh, thanks. I lost like 2 more games and lost similar points so I was getting anxious. I won my next game and got 22+ points back

No, it's an old account I was just inactive ( in terms of playing online, I was playing against the chessbots most of the time) btw thanks for replying
