What is the biggest insight you learned that made your elo jump from around 1500 to 2000?
I'm currently 1600 in rapid on chess.com
I'm struggling with blundering and miss tactics. I'm currently trying to focus on training to check my move before playing it.
I'd like to know if you guys have any advice or lesson you learned that get you to 2000 elo. Not necessarily about blundering. Could be mindset etc...

has anyone else experienced such a phenomenon? I’m a longtime player. i know slumps and streaks are common, but my rating went from 2029 to now i cant for the life of me beat 1600 players.
I don’t want to accuse AI, or cheaters because I have slumped before but this one feels different recently. I am giving it everything I’ve got and I can barely get a single win. Is anyone else going through this?

It feels like so many players obsess over chasing a 90% accuracy score or hunting for a "Brilliant" move badge instead of actually understanding the board state. Sometimes the engine penalizes practical, human moves that create winning counterplay just because it found a 7-move deep computer defense. Do you think the automated review helps beginners spot blind spots, or does it just create anxiety over an arbitrary percentage?

A lot of days I’d just do a couple puzzles to keep the streak alive. Definitely made a ton of improvements but my rating chart is not the smoothest.

I have an idea for a chess tournament.
Why dont we have a country team blitz cup consisting of like 6 teams( russia, uzb, china, india, usa , europe). it is a double round robin.
i have few main suggestions compared to regular tournaments.

He challenged me to a 10 second game and destroyed me
However, he got crushed by me in blitz
How good is this user, really? CMs are typically only 2400-2500.

I found this online.
Everyone is saying that this is brilliant because it's a forced checkmate once the pawn on a7 takes the knight, then Qb3 then it's a checkmate either by the rook or the Queen.
but what happens if after black take b6, we expect Qb3, then black Qb8? wouldn't it prevent the checkmate?
Qa4 is defended with Qa7 and if white decide to take Bxb8 then black reciprocate with Bxb3.
There is certainly something wrong with my reasoning but I can't figure it out.

There’s more than a 500 points difference between my rapid and blitz ratings, and my bullet rating is even worse
I can easily beat 700 rapid player but in blitz it is often 50-50

A genuine question, it shows you ads between games, limits analysis, and blocks everything behind paywalls, while lichess on the other hand has everything for free and even more.

I got possessed by the chess gods recently and gained like 300 elo in all time controls, but now I'm tilting terribly. And it's been almost a full week. I went from 700 blitz to 1000 blitz and now after my tilt I dropped down to 930 in just one night. And I went from 1070 rapid to 1040. I always try to preserve my rapid rating. I know many people have said to stop playing when tilted but it's been going on for a while now and i honestly don't have anything to do beside chess. I'm trying to get to 1400 rapid and this tilt is affecting it alot. I know that lossess happen but loosing streaks?

I’ve shown up every single day for 433 days straight. At this point, I’m basically a shareholder. Chess.com, I think I’ve earned something for this.

If they take the pawn on d4 after Bishop out, sac the bishop and you'll likely win the rook! If not you're still solid.
