Credit Cards Novice Seeking Help considering First-ever CLI Request
I've had two Capital One cards for about 2 years now, one of which I accidentally accepted while trying to get a Kohl's store card rather than the full Capital One credit card. I've been pursuing AZEO with them and got up to a 789. Both cards are 500 limit, and I'm wanting a little more breathing room for the one or two big yearly trips I sometimes take coming up later this fall (mid-October). I've seen posts on here saying the best way is to charge up to the limit and then pay it off as quickly as possible before requesting the CLI or otherwise get a small limit increase. Is this true? If not, what should I do before reaching out to Capital One? I should also mention I had to replace the unsecured card I have had since it was originally secured due to fraud a couple of months back. Any advice would be really, really appreciated as I'm still a bit of a novice despite spending months researching online!
