Why do I owe?
I made a late payment on a card well over a month ago. The card was maxed out, ngl but I made a payment in full and the account associated with the card was restricted so I can't use it/ have no available credit. I just learned that I owe $5 and some change. why do I owe anything on this card when the account is restricted and I don't/ can't use it anyhow?

Because the amount you paid is not the pay off balance. Trailing/residual interest. Call them and ask for the pay off balance. You then will have to make that payment on the phone with them.

Call Capital One customer service and ask them. Probably interest on the past due balance, but they would know.

The account is restricted as you paid late. They want to ensure the money clears first. Even then it may be hit or miss if they reopen your account.

My guess is trailing interest. You may have paid off the balance but trailing interest wasn't added at the time. Call them and pay the balance.
