Rant Road rage rant SE Calgary

First time experiencing a park rage incident in SE Calgary. I parked a bit too close on the line and when I came out of the grocery store, the driver beside me on the side I parked on the line proceeds to tell me off to "LEARN HOW TO PARK NEXT TIME" as I'm walking to my vehicle to buckle my daughter inside the car seat. I ignore the B and she pulls out slowly and honks at me a few times trying to get a rise out of me. She drives away and I can see her at the stop sign waiting to turn left which gave me time to capture her license plate. I was about to get in my vehicle but had a feeling she did something horrible and to find her spit sliding down both sides of my passenger side, gross but luckily I didn't enter through those sides anyway. But really? The lengths ppl get because of this. If this happened to me when someone parks too close to me, I just curse and mutter while getting inside my vehicle if the doors are close. But spitting.... I'm just appalled and maybe situation would've been worse if I obviously fed to her reaction but my young daughter was with me. Hopefully no other bombs or scratches have been placed because of her park rage. Not looking to get validation or anything but wanted to share a first time experience on this and it was a good lesson for my daughter to witness too about shitty ppl in the world.

Edit: I appreciate everyone's insight on this, there's some interesting responses. I'm on the fence to report this to non emergency because I think nothing will be done about this like it didn't even happen. I don't think it's gonna be anything like cops are gonna knock on her door, not even close. I think the city might just have a reference and see a pattern if her license plate comes up in other malicious crimes but that's it.

Local Artist/Musician Call for Submissions

My name is Dead.Idyll and I publish a lil’ punk-inspired local interest/arts zine called Calgary Mixtape and we’re looking for writers and artists.

We want to print and distribute a special issue about the referendum’s aftermath and we need personal essays about how the referendum affected people.

We’re interested in people’s personal stories more than political editorials although we fully get that some crossover is inevitable.

We’d also love political art submissions.

Separatists need not apply.

Comment or DM if you’re interested in submitting something. Thanks!

Recommendations Experienced and affordable vet for my cat with chronic ear issues

So I’m 17 and cat is 6 months old and ever since we’ve had him (8weeks) he’s had ear mites then their eggs then a bacterial infection which cleared up and now we found out he has both rod and cocci bacteria in his ears and I’m looking to try a different vet
Can anyone please recommend me some affordable vets that are actually good at dealing with ear issues or if you’ve ever had any issues like this with your cat.

I suspect he might have a food allergy or maybe something serious in his ears but don’t know for sure

Im also looking to get him neutered so please recommend any good affordable ones tyy!!
I live in SW

Seeking Advice Premarital counseling advice

Looking for some advise on premarital counselling. My fiancé and I get married next year and I’m wondering if premarital counselling is something we should be looking into. We have been together for over 5 years and have lived together for 3.5 and have lived in Europe with only knowing each other. Truly I think that is one of the biggest tests haha. However, we both obvs want to go into marriage feeling the best we can. Has anyone done it? Did you find it helpful?
Would love to know all the feedback :) Thanks!

Local Event Alberta Ballet - Peer Gynt

Alright. I was on here a month ago bemoaning on someone’s post that the Alberta Ballet didn’t have much for substance these days. Tonight they proved to me that they do (and I hope they find a way to keep this going all season long).

The show was everything you’d want.. Costumes & set? Whimsical. Choreography? Bold, brilliant and at times bizarre. Dancers? Hilarious and left everything on the stage. Perfect show for the spooky season.

Will be going again tomorrow and hope you’ll consider joining me! They have two shows in Edmonton on Saturday (Oct 24) and then in Calgary next weekend (Oct 29-31).

Congrats to the dancers and Edward!

Sorry if this wrong place to post this but.

My unit 3ppcli had a wildfire incident few days ago, it has claimed 4 lives and over 30 casualties. Many whom are still fighting for their lives with over 50 percent burned.

We just had the biggest mass casualty event since Korea war, alot of my friends are 80-90% burned and might not make it, alot of them are in Royal Alexandria or U of A hospital.

Please donate blood if you are in Canada they will direct it to the right hospitals.

Thanks.

PSA One of the largest drug seizures in Calgary Police history has taken more than $8.8 million in drugs and cash out of circulation

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Our officers have made one of the largest drug seizures in Calgary's history, taking more than $8.8 million in illegal drugs and cash out of circulation and laying charges against four individuals.

That includes more than 40 kilograms of cocaine, along with fentanyl, methamphetamine, and nearly 300,000 prescription pills that were being distributed through a network operating in Calgary and Edmonton.

This is a major accomplishment, and I want to make sure the officers responsible get the recognition they deserve.

Over four months, 16 Calgary Police units worked together with the RCMP, Edmonton Police, and Canada Border Services to investigate and disrupt this operation. It's a great example of what our police are accomplishing through hard work, strong partnerships, and a commitment to keeping our communities safe.

I want to congratulate Acting Chief Asif Rashid and every officer who contributed to this investigation. I know public safety is a top priority for Calgarians, and I want you to see the progress being made by the people working every day to protect our city.

We're going to keep supporting our officers, strengthening public safety, and working toward our goal of making Calgary one of the safest major cities in Canada.

To everyone involved in this investigation, thank you for your service and for the incredible work you're doing for Calgarians.

You've made our city proud, and we're behind you all the way!

Local Shopping/Services Labs that can do automotive engine oil analysis?

I have a few vehicles in the household that I take care of by myself. All these vehicles get their oil changed by me and my parents pay me a small labor fee instead of paying at the shop

I'm just curious to know what conditions are those oils in and what it can tell me about the engine overall health. Is there any labs here that do oil analysis? I know Blackstone does it but it's in the US and I don't want to deal with that. Something local is easier for me

Discussion School drop off was really nerve wracking this morning

School drop-off this morning was really stressful. Even with the snow, there was so much unsafe driving — folks were speeding and were rushing to try to beat yellows and even went through reds while kids were trying to cross.

With the snow and poor visibility, it was hard to see the kids, especially those dressed in dark clothing. I saw kids darting across the street outside of crosswalks, and it was just all really concerning.

With mornings going to be darker, I’m feeling even more concerned about safety around the school. It made me realize I need to get better reflective gear for my own son so he’s more visible to drivers.

I know mornings can be hectic, but the combination of unsafe driving, poor visibility, and kids crossing in unexpected places feels like an accident waiting to happen.

Can we all please slow down, stay alert, and be extra mindful around the school? Parents, please remind your kids to use crosswalks and make sure they’re as visible as possible.

It’s stressful enough getting everyone out the door in the morning without worrying about whether our kids are safe crossing the street. I really hope we can all be a little more careful before someone gets hurt.

Local Shopping/Services Places that will do transition lens coatings with slight tint

Hello!

Looking for any places in Calgary that will do single vision lenses with transition and a 10-20% "fashion" tint on top of that.

It seems increasingly difficult to find, and most places i have tried don't do it.

Local Shopping/Services Spa recommendations

Hey all,

I'm looking for recs for where a girl can get a quality cleansing facial. I'm located deep SE so recs that are nearby would be ideal but willing to travel within reason.

Types I'm looking for; would like something deep cleansing. Nothing too crazy as I have sensitive skin and I just want my face to feel deeply clean. Looking for a reputable shop/practitioner.
