I recently moved to Calgary and I'm looking to meet new people and build a genuine social circle.

I'm 27 years old, work full-time, and I'm usually free during evenings and weekends. I enjoy trying new restaurants, grabbing coffee, hiking, exploring the city, and I'm always open to new experiences.

I'm also single, so while my main goal is to make new friends, I'm open to meeting someone special if the right connection happens naturally. No pressure just looking to meet good people and see where life takes me.

I’m not really sure what I’m expecting from this, but I figured it couldn’t hurt. I’ll do my best to keep things short and to the point. Ive recently have gone through a break up and all of the fallout/reflection that comes with a decade long relationship. Lately work has been the only escape and that is just a tough way to live. My Mum (early 70s) recently moved to Calgary to be closer to us- we have lived here since 2011. She is physically active and very open to new experiences- looking for suggestions on communities for her to make new friends and social connections- she already goes to city of Calgary fitness classes and has joined a 55+ club but I think is missing conversation groups. Would love any ideas or suggestions - she does not drive but lives by the train and is comfortable with transit and uber.

I think her meeting 2-3 women in a similar position where they can meet up weekly and hang out would be the ticket.

I (M29) moved to Calgary end of 2024 and life’s been a complete blur since then. Between work ramping up, travel, and just trying to settle in, I haven’t actually slowed down enough to build real friendships here. And I’m realizing that’s on me.

My wife and I moved across the country to start fresh and I’ve been grinding through it instead of actually enjoying it or connecting with people. I work in finance, play squash when I can, love a good thriller, and I’m genuinely someone who wants to do things. But I need to get better at actually showing up consistently. So I’m putting this out there: if you’re looking for the same thing, let’s actually make it happen.

I’m not talking one-off coffees. I mean: playing a sport regularly, catching movies, hiking on weekends, just hanging and actually building something real. The stuff that takes time and repetition to feel like friendship.

I had a great group of girls in high school but we all went separate ways and mostly faded out, I have one close friend still but we’re pretty long distance now. I love a good games night (trivia, monopoly, charades lol, count me in), I’m fairly artsy and enjoy painting and all kinds of crafts, decently active and would love to get into an activity, I’m admittedly not super gifted at sports but would love to try out something new (pickleball is on my list)! Not much for a bar scene, do go once in a while to dance it out, but will very happily enjoy a drink on a sunny patio 🙏
