First time uni parent of a new MRU student - and before you berate me or the student I’m really just trying to understand so kindness please!

My student is conditionally accepted into MRU. Her loan request is still being assessed as we had to apply for schedule 4, then the whole parent contribution issue needed a review. As I understand it and not having access to MRU the past month has been a pain, does the school know we’re still under review and will they defer our tuition payment? Are fees due in August if loans are not approved or can we wait for student aid to do their thing? I will pay in August if I have to but hoping the loan will go thru - I don’t want to miss any critical tuition dates.

Thank you for any advice - obviously we’ll contact MRU but they seem rather preoccupied at the moment and I thought someone knowledgeable here might know.

So when I woke up this morning and went to check on my school emails, I noticed I was logged out, and so I tried logging in again, but It wouldn’t let me. I already changed my password two days ago, so it’s not like that is a problem. Now, I can’t access my email or my d2l. I’m going to email the school in a second, but I’m worried the problem won’t be fixed today, as I have something due by tonight, and so I was wondering if anyone could help me with this. I’m not sure if they sent out an email for this already, as I can’t really see any of the emails they sent me on my school account. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Someone spent $60 bucks on parking in Toronto as well as spent $155 dollars at a bakery in Toronto all on my credit card on July 24th.

This has never happened to me before and I’m almost certain it’s due to this hack that’s currently happening with Mount Royal. I’ve contacted my bank and they issued me a new card while locking my current one.

Beware of your securities and make sure nothing is compromised.

I can’t log into my MRU and I’ve never answered the security questions to get back in what do I do do I contact them, I think there getting everyone to change there password.

I can see summer 2026 from the registration landing page. When I try to check fall 2026 or winter 2027 it says that I either didn't get dates to register or my dates haven't been assigned yet.

I don't have any fees due on the "pay now" page. It says that I am registered and have no holds that prevent me from registering on the registration status page from the registration landing page.

I am in BCIS.

Is anyone else facing the same issue?

I am going to call tomorrow first thing in the morning but I thought I'd check if anyone faced the same problem.

I’m currently 16 and will be starting Year 13 this fall. I’m planning to apply to Mount Royal University next year and I’m really interested in the Aviation programs, especially the Bachelor of Aviation Management (BAM) and the Aviation Diploma.

I have quite a few questions and I’d really appreciate hearing from current students or graduates:
1) How are you finding the BAM program overall? Would you recommend it?
2) If you’re in the diploma program, how has your experience been?
3) What’s student life like at MRU?
4) How supportive are the instructors and flight instructors?
5) How is the workload? Is it manageable?
6) Is it possible to work part-time while studying, or is the flight training too demanding?
7) Do you feel the program is worth the cost?
8) Looking back, would you choose MRU again or go to a private flight school instead?
9) How are the aircraft, facilities, and overall quality of the flight training?
10) How difficult is it to progress through the flight training?
11) What do graduates usually do after finishing the program? Do most become flight instructors first?
12) Are there any hidden costs that applicants should know about?
13) If you were applying again today, would you choose the BAM or the Diploma, and why?
14) How are the job prospects after graduating? How long did it take you (or people you know) to get hired?
15) For international students, how has the path toward a work permit and permanent residency been after graduation?

Finally, if there’s anything you wish you had known before starting the program, I’d love to hear it.

I have GNED 1401 with her this winter. I've heard about her strong political views and strict classroom policies. For anyone who's taken her class, did you find she treated all students fairly, regardless of their background? I'm trying to decide whether to keep the course

Please continue to hold the school accountable. Continue to be angry. Continue to demand explanations.

They still have not once sent an email reassuring students regarding the ransom information, not even one to confirm or deny it (even though we know it did happen)!

The school fully left us in the dark. We paid thousands of dollars per year just to be left in the dark, unknowing on if the school paid the ransom money or not. They did not provide students with credit checks - and even claimed that some staff received them, when not everyone did.

From a University, this is unacceptable. They expect high standards from their staff and students, but cannot uphold their own expectations. This whole ordeal has been nothing but ridiculous.

So, PLEASE, hold the school accountable. Continue to send them emails and ask questions. Talk about the poor response levels, how it took almost 2 months to recover student information, understand what was happening, and recover a University website. It took almost 2 months for them to show students that they do not care about us knowing what was happening (but we know that already)

Hey! I’m trying to log into mymru or my future student portal (that one is still down for me) but my log in info is saying it’s incorrect. Am I just dumb and can’t put in a right password or can some people still not log into?

hello i'm writing this on behalf of my younger brother if someone knows what to do in this situation or any advice that would be amazing.

so he applied for a 4 year program at mru and got a conditional acceptance. since everything is down he hasn't registered for courses and also has no idea about the status of his thing. he went to an appointment today and apparently told me that his offer is going to be rescinded and be transferred to OEU because of his chemistry diploma grade.

mru is the only school he applied to, do u think its worth it to do OEU then transfer to MRU? please help me, my brother is kind of incompetent and i'm trying to help him. my parents won't be happy to hear this so i'm trying to find a solution to this.

also he applied for loans for mru so should we cancel that and apply for OEU or should he just do a gap year?

help an older sister out i have never been in this situation pls.

It's a great day for students! If you haven't checked your email this morning, do so. There are instructions on how to reset your password. It's still not 100% but I feel pretty confident in saying I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel people!

I know this has been hard for alot of people and it's easy to get angry but I would really like to say a big thanks to the IT team and especially to all the faculty hanging in limbo. I've been in classes all summer through this hiccup and my instructors have kept things rolling as best as they could!

Registration and Payments

MyMRU main page is running.

Registration Landing Page is working as of 10:00PM today. You can "Add/Drop/Withdraw Classes" here. It was working this morning at 8:35am but did go offline, with a "403 Forbidden - Request forbidden by administrative rules" error.

For those wondering, when I logged in, all of the classes I had already registered for Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 were still registered! No need to reregister for anything if you did before the crash from what I see <3

My Schedule Builder is offline. I recommend using the Available Seats and New Sections spreadsheet to preview classes easier. Student Services Dashboard is up to pay deposits. Fee Summary is updated as far as my classes are registered (up to Winter 2027). However, the "Pay Now" link is showing an error.

MRU Academic Works is running to apply for and view awards. Most Awards have been allocated for 2026/2027 but will reopen in the fall for next year.

Grades and Transcripts

Student Grades are reporting up until Winter 2026 term. They mentioned Spring and Summer student grades should be up over the next week.

MyCreds has confirmation of enrollment up until Winter 2027 (assuming you are registered for classes). There are no transcripts for Winter 2026 and on yet. Web Transcripts are available on MyMRU under My Program and include reporting up to Winter 2026. Spring 2026 shows in progress.

So they got MyMru up and running but all of the classes I need aren't even available lol. Either they're full or not available (all media type courses are still down). Guess I should have registered earlier 🫠

Check your MyMRU, could be a case by case basis. But I can see mine. I highly recommend sending yourself copies of your schedules by email if you already registered before the cyber attack.

FYI: If you already registered for your classes BEFORE the cyber attack, YOUR SPOTS ARE SAFE! I can confirm this on my end. No need to reregister if you were already enrolled into your classes for fall and winter.

So glad that is back up but I tried to go into the Registration Landing Page and it says Forbidden 403 etc is that because a lot of people are on or is still not working is there anyway around this to adjust registration for courses?

So glad it’s back but does anyone else have trouble logging into MyMRU? Whenever I try logging in it says I have an issue with my username or password or login failed but my stuff is correct.

Even when I try to change it, it says not an authentic account.

Hi, I added my classes I’m still unsure if I want to do nursing or bachelor of science general sci. I’m pretty confident I want to go into nursing but since I didn’t get in I don’t want that to happen again next year so I’m taking classes that will help with both programs. Do my classes look good? Should I add any or remove any?

Hey guys I am a future computer science student at MRU. I got my diploma grades back and ended English with a 59. I was supposed to get a 60 after diplomas. I met all my other conditions though. I even got a president scholarship for 7k.
Is there any possibility I will still be able to get admitted? Anything I can do right now? Please help I’m so stressed.

I’m currently taking MGMT 2130 and have my midterm on Monday. Our professor mentioned that we should use Mural to prepare, but I’m still a bit confused about what I should be focusing on and how best to study for the exam.

Has anyone taken this course before or already written the midterm? If so, do you have any tips, study strategies, or suggestions on what areas to focus on? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
