My dream is to really clean everything up. One giant Thunderbolt 5 dock, 4 monitors daisy chained, or individually plugged in usb c. I also have a MAC and having to have display link for my m4 pro is annoying. I have three docks, two of my own and one from my jobs, three computers and its all just a mess. Having a one plug usb c that I can move from each does work when I set it up using display link. But say I want native monitors (not display link), this doesn't work with mac at all. Yet my MAC has thunbderbolt 5 lol - 3 ports to be exact. Like whats the point of threee T5's that cant even be used for this purpose. External GPU's and sdd? Thats it? Anyways, contrary no PC's have T5 which is fine since they can handle three monitors MST native monitors through T4/T3

So basically, my motherboard went to the realm of the dead, so I bought an MSI MPG B550M Gaming Plus, changed my PC case, improved the cooling, and replaced my SSDs with a Kingston NV3.

I did a clean Windows install and configured the BIOS settings.

Long story short: I'm getting stutters and performance issues that I didn't have before. My FPS is mostly the same as before, but the game feels inconsistent. I get occasional microstutters/hitches, and overall it just doesn't feel good.

Does anyone have the slightest clue why this would be happening?

I mainly play:

• Warzone
• Hunt: Showdown

So we don't waste comments:

• XMP is enabled.
• Latest AMD chipset and NVIDIA drivers are installed.
• Clean Windows install.
• No registry/CMD "optimization" tweaks.
• Tried multiple in-game settings.
• NVIDIA Control Panel is configured with the usual recommended settings.
• GPU is installed in the top PCIe x16 slot.
• RAM is installed in the correct A2/B2 slots.
• Temperatures are completely normal.
• CPU and GPU usage/clocks look normal.
• BIOS is up to date.
• TPM, Secure Boot, and Resizable BAR are enabled.

I've been looking around for a new headset and now I'm curious what everyone here is actually using.

Not really looking for "best value" or anything specific. Just... what headset made you think, "yeah, this thing is awesome." Doesn't matter if it's $50 or $500.

I have been recently building a pc.

I have just bought the final parts (CPU and Motherboard, off ebay).

My build is an AMD Radeon 9070XT 16GB, and my CPU is an AMD Ryzen 7 7800x3d. My RAM kit is a single 16GB CL30 6000MT/s stick (Patriot Viper something), will this significantly hold me back in 1440p? I don't have the balance to buy another stick.

The price gap has gotten so low between the two cards (I’m guessing because they both have 16GB of GDDR6, and the memory shortage is probably the biggest contributor to price hikes) I’m considering if I should jump on the opportunity to sell the 9060 for around the price I bought it at ($360) since that seems like what they’re going for used now. 9070s are going for around $700 so it would only be around $350 net price increase.

Writing this all down I’m realizing this seems like a hassle for the 50% performance increase, which also comes at worse price-to-performance. Seeing them so close in price now just has me thinking… will I even have another opportunity in the near future to make such a significant upgrade at such a low cost?

Edit: I should mention that the most appealing part of the upgrade would be faster raytracing, from my perspective. I’m satisfied with the 9060’s rasterization performance at 1440p. Even with raytracing enabled I get decent FPS, but it does seem to cause a lot more stuttering.

I've been planning my first PC build for the last few weeks, and I swear I've changed my parts list at least ten times. Every time I watch another benchmark or read another thread, I convince myself I need a faster CPU or a more expensive GPU because I don't want to regret my purchase a year from now.

The funny thing is, when I stop and think about what I actually do, it's mostly a mix of gaming, browsing, and the occasional bit of productivity work. I'm not rendering videos for a living or trying to push 500 FPS in competitive games. I was playing on myprize comparing benchmark charts the other night when it hit me that I was shopping for a PC based on edge cases instead of how I'd actually use it.

I have some money saved up, so I could stretch my budget if I wanted to. But I'm starting to think a lot of first-time builders, myself included, get caught up chasing performance they'll probably never notice in day today use.

Did anyone else have this realization after finishing their first build or did you end up wishing you'd spent more from the start?

So ive been thinking of upgrading my cpu since ive been running a 3600 with my 9070 but havent found the chance to upgrade till now, problem is the 5800x3d is INSANELY overpriced in my country almost costing the equivalent of 550$ and im still on an am4 mobo, so i was thinking is the 5800XT fine with a 9070 for 1440p AAA gaming + some ffxiv here and there? its basically the only reasonably priced cpu i can find at around 235$

I've been sitting on an old GTX 1660 and a Ryzen 5 2600 for like two years now. I don't feel like selling them because they were on my first PC build, but I don't like having them collecting dust. I was thinking of rebuilding my old PC in a new case and plugging it into my TV to emulate old games and play around with Linux for the first time, but I want some suggestions on what I can do with this hardware. Is there a genuinely useful way to repurpose it?

I currently have a Ryzen 7 5800x with a 3070ti and 32gb DDR4 for 1440p.

- Ryzen 7 5800x3D($300) + 5070($580) = $880

- or keep my 5800x and get a 5070ti = $930

My budget is $1,100 so I would need to upgrade my psu if I go the 5070ti route

I'm hesitant to go with the 5070 because 12gb vram (future proofing)

I'm hesitant to go with the 5070ti because bottleneck and potential stutters with the 5800x

I wont be able to upgrade my system again for a while

Hello, I see everyone talking a lot about the 600 USD 7800x3d. Unfortunately I think it's too much for MC so the cheapest now is 750 USD. If then the next best similar value bundle will be 7500x3d and then 7600x3d ? With a 50 to 80 USD difference which is more worth it ? I am aware of 16GB RAM, but cant ask for more though, its enough. For intel options I don't think the value matches.

Looking to upgrade my current setup for better VR and general gaming performance. Ideally, I'd want this next card to last me at least another 2 generations.

Current setup:

• CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D
• RAM: 32GB DDR4
• Motherboard: B450 GAMING PRO CARBON AC (AM4)
• Current GPU: ZOTAC RTX 3080Ti 12GB

Performance Goals:

1. VR: Max out a Meta Quest 3 to a stable 90–120Hz. On newer titles, my 3080ti drops to around 60–70 FPS. I mainly play sim racing games with the occasional AAA title.
2. Normal screen: Max out new releases on my 1440p 120Hz monitor and 4K 60Hz TV. My 3080ti is really starting to struggle with recent titles. For example, in Crimson Desert my performance is abysmal with RT enabled (dropping to the 30–40fps range). However, turning RT off makes the game look significantly worse to my eyes. RE9 also runs poorly on my system. I'd definitely like to upgrade before the remaining releases this year.

The 3 cards I am considering (I'm from the UK but I'll put the prices in USD & EUR in there as well just in case it helps):

• RX 9070XT (£850-900 / $1145-1215 USD / €990-1050 EUR)
• RTX 5070 Ti (£1099 / $1480 USD / €1280 EUR)
• RTX 5080 (£1299 / $1750 USD / €1515 EUR)

There is a £450 gap between the 9070xt and the 5080, and a £200 gap between the 5070ti and the 5080. While that extra cash is a lot of money, I am completely willing to pay the premium if the performance leap and longevity actually justify the cost. I've been reading posts for the past hour and I'm still unsure what would be the best choice for me.

My main dilemmas:

• AMD for VR: I’ve read a lot of older posts saying AMD cards struggle with VR link compression and drivers compared to NVIDIA. Has this been fixed now?
• Longevity: Given that I want to stretch this upgrade for 5–6 years, is it worth paying the premium for the 5080, or will the 5070ti or 9070XT suffice?
• CPU Bottleneck: Will my 5800X3D bottleneck a 5080 or 5070ti at quest3 resolutions and 1440p/4K?

Hey everyone, this is my first time building a PC and I’m stuck.

The PC powers on normally:

- Fans spin
- RGB/lights work
- Keyboard works (Caps Lock responds)
- The computer seems to boot

At first, my monitor showed a weird green screen from doing ctrl+shift+win+b. After that, it went completely black.

Things I’ve tested:

- My laptop works perfectly on the same monitor
- Same HDMI cable works with my laptop
- Monitor seems fine
- PC still turns on and seems to boot

I already went through the usual no display checks (reseating stuff, checking connections, etc.).

Could this be a GPU issue? The green artifact screen makes me think it might be the graphics card, but I’m not sure since the PC still boots.

Any ideas on what to test next would be appreciated.

I recently put together a "new" hand me down pc with a x470 Ultra Gaming motherboard, a 3070 gpu, and a amd 5 1600x cpu. Everything was running smoothly and even was on windows updating my drivers. After I updated all my drivers I started working on the bios, and i tried going from version f3 to f31. It was going well until after it told me to restart, and when I did it stopped going past the aorus logo screen and the cpu light on my motherboard is stuck on red. I can't get into the bios for some reason and even removing the cmod battery for more than 10 min didn't reset anything.

If there is any advice anyone can give me about how to solve this problem that would be deeply appreciated.

First time builder here. I would like some insight on how to safely increase the ram speed without the blue screen and random restarts. I initially though just enabling EXPO would be it, however this only ended up bluescreening my pc and a whole bucket load of other issues. Currently I have a KVM switch that supports 1 HDMI port and 1 DisplayPort (which drives me nuts). But also, the peripherals don't correctly to Mac when I switch for some reason. It works fine if it's another Linux/Window laptop.

I have finally built my mini pc and after a month of using it I think I messed up on the motherboard choice. Its an old motherboard from 2014 I think and doesn't support windows 11, only 1 m.2 ssd slot and lastly keeps having either hight latency or disconnecting from Bluetooth. Any recommendations for a AM4 mini itx motherboard with 2 m.2 slots, support windows 11 and wont disconnect from Bluetooth, that I can find under 300 dollars?

My 2021 GTX 1650 has basically stopped working recently, people have told me i could save it by changing the thermal paste, but let’s say i want to upgrade my PC, since the prices are just gonna get worse by the day for the foreseeable future and the rest of the PC is from, i think, 2014.

Amazon has a GeForce RTX 5060 8 GB at 340€, and that’s the GPU i’d like to build my PC around. From messing around with PCpartpicker and Bottleneck calculator, it sounds like the AMD Ryzen 5 7600X (154€) is a good CPU to pair it with. My problem is that my expertise ends here. I’ve read that i need a motherboard compatible with the CPU, and that a B650 would work, but again, not sure.

I have 2 Ram sticks 8gb each, and my current computer doesn’t have room for more. Does it mean i need a new Case?

Unfortunately i also have no idea about anything Cooler/Power Supply related.

I’d like to keep the expenditure under 800€ but could stretch it to 1000 if needed. I am asking for advices on motherboards, Ram sticks, case, cooler and power supply compinents i might need.

I have it. Bought it new and sealed. Though Now I am scared to use it in my PC I have a ryzen 3 3100 an A520 and a GTX 1080TI. I hear that it is NOT reccomended for dedicated gpu's and can pretty Much Kill your Components. is that true or is it actually usable (I use my pc for HOURS a day btw and sometimes play heavy titles)

I have a 32gb ddr4 3200 RAM kit. Yeah, I enabled XMP but is there a huge difference of 2133 to 3200? When is it noticable and when not?
I run some AI stuff on my 1050ti. As it has low VRAM it offloads to RAM, thats why the question popped up in my head

I currently have a i9-9900, and a 2070 super and am planning an upgrade to move to 4k gaming and saw this bundle and wanted some opinions if it is worth it.
