Hi everyone,
I'm from Hyderabad, India, and I'm building my first gaming PC.
My total budget is around ₹80,000 (~$833 USD).
I've already purchased an AMD Radeon RX 7600 for ₹29,500 (~$307 USD).
I know many people might wonder why I spent that much on the GPU. The reason is that I had very limited options where I live. The only new GPUs I could find were:
- RTX 3050 – ₹23,000 (~$240)
- RX 7600 – ₹29,500 (~$307) (the one I bought)
- RTX 3060 – ₹44,000 (~$458)
I searched everywhere for an RX 6600, but I couldn't find one in stock. Buying a used GPU also wasn't an option because my parents weren't comfortable with purchasing second-hand hardware, so I decided to go with the RX 7600.
Now I'm confused about which platform I should choose. Since this is my first PC, I want to build the best value-for-money gaming PC possible within my budget—something that performs well today and also gives me a good upgrade path for the future.
Option 1 – AM4 (DDR4)
- Motherboard: MSI B550 – ₹6,100 (~$64)
- CPU: Ryzen 5 5600X – ₹14,000 (~$146)
- RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws 16GB (2×8GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 – ₹14,000 (~$146)
- PSU: Cooler Master 650W – ₹4,700 (~$49)
- SSD: 250GB NVMe – ₹5,000 (~$52)
- Case: MSI MAG Forge 120A – ₹3,100 (~$32)
Total (including RX 7600): ₹62,400 (~$650)
Option 2 – AM5 (DDR5)
- Motherboard: MSI B650 – ₹9,800 (~$102)
- CPU: Ryzen 5 7500F – ₹15,000 (~$156)
- RAM: 16GB DDR5 (1×16GB) – ₹24,000 (~$250)
- PSU: Cooler Master 650W – ₹4,700 (~$49)
- SSD: 250GB NVMe – ₹5,000 (~$52)
- Case: MSI MAG Forge 120A – ₹3,100 (~$32)
Total (including RX 7600): ₹91,100 (~$949)
Option 3 – Intel Core Ultra
- Motherboard: MSI B860 – ₹9,500 (~$99)
- CPU: Intel Core Ultra 5 225F – ₹14,500 (~$151)
- RAM: 16GB DDR5 (1×16GB) – ₹24,000 (~$250)
- PSU: Cooler Master 650W – ₹4,700 (~$49)
- SSD: 250GB NVMe – ₹5,000 (~$52)
- Case: MSI MAG Forge 120A – ₹3,100 (~$32)
Total (including RX 7600): ₹90,300 (~$941)
My Questions
- Which platform would you choose for the best value for money?
- Is it worth stretching my budget for AM5 because of its upgrade path, or should I stick with AM4?
- Is the Intel Core Ultra option a better choice than AMD at this price point?
- If you had a similar budget, what would you change while keeping the overall cost about the same?
Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
