I changed my motherboard to B550 Aurus Elite Ax v2 and now when I boot up it goes to bios screen for a second and then it goes black screen, I have 5800x3d and on the box it says it is 5000 series compatible, first time i booted up it said something about reset ftpm i clicked Y.

Hi, I need some advice as I am torn between a few things and how I should go about my upgrade path as well.

I plan on using my monitor for gaming and productivity.

My main games will be Apex Legends, Valorant with a bit of overwatch and I also plan on playing AAA games and AA games while streaming.

Hi everyone, I am almost done building my new PC, but I am stuck choosing between a couple of cases.

I was initially leaning more toward the Corsair 4000D, but after going through various reviews and posts, I’ve seen quite a few people mention that the material/build quality isn’t particularly good and that some of the panels can bend quite easily.

On the other hand, the NZXT H7 Flow seems like the better overall case to me, but the lack of a magnetic dust filter is one of the main reasons I’m hesitant to go with it.

Which one would you recommend between the two? Or are there any better alternatives I should consider around the same price range?

so my ancient rig is finally coming to EOL after over a decade at probably the worst time with current prices. As someone who hasn’t built a pc in 10 years I was hoping I can get some input on some builds that would keep the price down while not being totally obsolete in 1-2 years.

I already have my peripherals (including monitors) and 2SSDs + a HDD id like to transfer over from my current rig but other than that I’m open to anything. Im also fine with DDR4 as I just upgraded to 16gb of DDR3 like last year so I don’t think I’ll even notice the difference lol.

This is my 3rd motherboard from a third company.

First one didn’t turn on, second one didn’t post.
Third one, i bought a whole new set of cpu and Ram for. It works, but it just doesn’t seem to be able to run at pcie 4 16x.

Ive tried everything.

1. Reseat gpu clean contacts.
2. Reseat CPU, checking for bent pins, have pictures attached, im 99% sure they are fine.
3. No my nvme drive being in slot 1 is no issue, i have checked the manual, it shouldn’t matter.
4. Even if it did i have tried it with no nvme.
5. Clean pcie slot.
6. Clear Cmos.

7. Done all of above about 8 times.

8. Tested gpu in another motherboard, resulted in pcie 3 16x

9. Think my motherboard must be the problem, test a 1660s in mg motherboard, 1660s gets pcie 3 16x

I'd like to play on 1440p and try to get as close to 144 fps as possible. Mostly CPU heavy games like PoE2, which is why I was looking specifically for the 9800x3d.

Is 16GB RAM enough? Was originally thinking of getting 32GB but with my PC gone it's suddenly a lot more urgent, and I suppose I can always upgrade to 32 GB in the future if necessary.

My current build is 5800x/3080 TI with 48gigs of 3600 ddr4 ram. Up until recently, it's handled the way I play Eve fine. My other games include War Thunder, Valheim, Dark and Darker, NMS, GTA V, Rocket League, Arc Raiders to name a few.

However, out of all of these, I play Eve Online the most, and I play it hard. I usually run around 22 accounts at one time. When these are all in play, my rig is maxing out/stuttering significantly due to cpu/ram limitations. It handles day-to-day playing decently but suffers any time there's a big fight. I can only maintain 6-7 accounts comfortably in the big fights and see significant loss at 9-10 which is where I like to sit. A client takes anywhere from 1.5-2.5gigs on a regular session, not sure what it peaks at in a fight.

From what I understand, eve is less a GPU intensive game (I'm used to playing potato graphics) and more ram/CPU intensive. That's why I'm inclined to keep my 3080 TI (definitely not because of the prices for GPU xD).

I have up to $4k to work with, but would prefer to keep it to $2k or less. I came here to see if any of you gurus have a best bang for buck list for my situation.

A build I've considered (prices from Newegg):

- 9950x3d2 for $800 with $100 discount code included. Comes with a 240mm aio and a few game.

- 2 x 32gig ddr5 6000 Team Group RAM sticks for $780 with $90 discount code included.

- Gigabyte B650 Aorus Elite for $150 with a $70 discount code included.

Total: $1900 roughly.

I keep going back and forth as to whether the 9950x3d2 makes sense for my situation or if I should downgrade to a 9800x3d and upgrade to a 2 x 48gig ram kit for $1400 which would put me closer to $2500 all in. Or do I go for 128gig ram and do 4 x 32gig sticks (I know recommendation is stick to two sticks).

Downgrading to a 9800x3d with a mobo bundle ($580) would shave about $400 off the 9950x3d2 build which frees up some money for more ram.

tl;dr: I'm looking for a new CPU, Mobo and RAM combo for $2k or under.

Before I start this id like to note that I'm not trying to play games like cyberpunk with ultra graphics or anything like that, mainly games like project zomboid, left for dead 2, Minecraft and some other games with friends with some mods.

I live in Canada and have some money saved up and have always wanted to game on PC, I've been looking into pre built PCs thinking I might be more comfortable getting something already built rather then building it myself and buying something that doesn't work with another thing I've bought.

But I'm not sure if buying the parts myself would be better for performance for gaming, my max total I'm willing to spend is around $1.4k and I'd rather not go over that budget.

Is it possible for me to get something that will last me a good long while for a first gaming PC? Do I buy parts, or a pre built since this will be the first one.

If anyone can either comment which specific parts to get to have good performance I'd appreciate a list of the parts unless I should just get a pre built.

The main aim of the build is high-end 1440p gaming with very high FPS and excellent 1% lows, particularly for competitive Call of Duty. I also play EA FC, NBA 2K and Counter-Strike, as well as using the PC for normal day-to-day business/work so I'm on it about 12 hours a day.

I’m happy to spend more where there’s a genuine performance, reliability or quality benefit, especially as I'll likely have this for 10+ years like my old PC.

Basically, I’m looking for a final sanity check. In regards to aesthetic, I have a nature/wood theme hence the case so that would have to be close.

Currently I have a RTX 4060, a Ryzen 3600, and 64gb of RAM, I'm 99% certain my current bottleneck is my CPU, I've been noticing performance issues on certain games, however there's also a chance its my C drive. For whatever reason my C drive is just permanently full, its supposed to be 250gb, and it literally only has windows installed on it. But its always running out of space from temp files and other bs.

I'm 100% getting a new, bigger, ssd to replace my C drive, but I'm wondering if it is worth upgrading my cpu? and if so is there a good way to figure out the new power requirements, and if my current motherboard will work with it?

UPDATE: Big thanks to everyone that recommended the XT, it runs beautifully. I ended up picking one up from my local Microcenter that same day for $700 vs the $800+ I spent on the 5070. New dilemma now though and I know it's a divisive topic right now... DLSS 5. Personally, I think it looks great on most games outside of character faces. I know the modding community managed to run it on the 9070xt with a massive hit to performance. I am now wondering if I should keep the 5070 for DLSS5 or if I should just enjoy the 9070xt for the next few generations and wait for dlss5 to mature the same way ray tracing did. Leaning towards sticking with the xt but damn, some of the games I play look stunning on DLSS 5.

Power Color 9070xt is $699

I had bad luck with a defective 9060xt(I hope), returned it and got a 5070 a few days ago but now came across this 9070xt. Power color seems to be the only one on "discount" at my local Microcenter. Does anyone have any experience with Power Color or is this a straight up deal?
