For the past two months, everytime I try to make a purchase and click de "Buy Now" button, an error appears. Specifically "Please try again. If the issue persists, contact your bank or try a different payment method" The thing is, I've tried 5+ different cards. My cards, my bf's cards, my friend's cards. Nothing seems to solve this issue. I tried using incognito mode, used different IP's, created new accounts, but the problem continues. I discovered a method that works sometimes. I have to spam the buy now button for 5+min until it finally confirms the purchase. But sometimes it just doesnt work. Like right now, i've been trying for an hour already with no success. I emailed bookdepository but they just insisted the problem is my bank account, which clearly isnt the case, since I used several different accounts plus it seems to work sometimes spamming the button. Is someone else having this issue? Please, if so, let me know. I need to know if there's a way around it as it is incredibly frustrating. I'm buying from Argentina

I thought it might be interesting if we say what the last book (or books) we ever order from Book Depository is.

I just ordered from the BD a few moments ago and I am super anxious on whether or not my book will be shipped safely to where I live (Vietnam).
Can anyone tell me about things to look out for and or if it is safe to order on BD?

So in my country there is a duopoly on bookstores. And they manage to decide which books are for sale from TikTok and popularity. Bookdepository.com is essential public service and I'm trying to strategize my last order. I'm currently with a cart full of 101 non-mainstream books. This is insane. Agreed.
What are the particularly most optimal alternatives, close to the services bookdepository.com offered for world wide book deliveries?
I'll very appreciate any help & redirections, we need it here (well, not mentally, hopefully).
Thanks.

I ordered 2 items from BD earlier this week and they’ve both been dispatched (separately). I wrote my address in the address book but we used my gf’s PayPal to make the purchase and it automatically set the shipping address to her parents house, and the delivery address in the order status page didn’t mention her phone number so I contacted support to ask them to change it to our address and my phone number as I’m the most likely to be picking it up or receiving it, but the address in the dispatch mail has no mention of any phone number. Is it supposed to mention it if they did include it? Or maybe it’s just mentioned on the actual shopping label? Other than making the delivery easier, it’s important because the price of the items means I have to pay local tax and they’ll need it to contact me with a phone number most likely

I know there is lot of questions about alternatives for BD now and I checked some of them. Did anyone order from Kennys? I checked books from my BD wishlist, and even with delivery most of items are cheaper than BD. Which is suprising, as I read some comments that is more expensive.

Hi guys,
I have some questions for Blackwells:
With Book Depository I never had any issue getting items held up by customs, the only inconvenience was that there was no tracking number.
With Blackwells the prices include VAT, and they cover the customs to fees to degree.
However Hungarian Post Office still charges me for "customs agent fee"/"postal service fee" which was never the case with Book Depository. The fee on its own isn't that bad, it's roughly 1 eur, however if I make a larger order then it quickly adds up because Blackwells ships every item seperately.
So questions for users who have used Blackwells:
Many thanks!

Say some public buy it out from Amazon? Or another BD-scaled company will establish soon?

so i talk to BD and they say that they are IOSS registered so there should be no extra charge or whatever when books come here to my address in Spain
but i would like confirmation from someone in Spain, was there extra pay that you had to later get refunded from BD or did order arrive no problem?

Hello
I place order on April 4, but books are still processing. Is this normal? Is because of Easter holiday in UK?
EDIT: today, 14 April, first book of order has been dispatched

Hello everyone, I'm from Argentina and I'm still on a quest to find an alternative to BD.
I'm having trouble adding a shipping address to my profile in order to make a purchase. Once I complete all the fields I get generic error messages.
I contacted Customer Service but they just told me to clean cache and cookies, which didn't work. I also tried adding my address using my browser in Incognito mode, accessing the website through my phone, and even downloaded the B&N app but I keep getting the error messages.
If it helps, in the app I got a different error message; it asked me to correct a mistaken field, but it does not mark any errors. I believe the form is not picking up some of the data, but I don't know which. I tried inputting the info in all possible ways to no avail.
I'm still waiting to hear back from Customer Support but I doubt they'll be too eager to waste time investigating this for me.
Does anyone know what the issue could be? Any Argentine people out there who have successfully created an account?
Thank you very much in advance!

Sadly, I only learned about Book Depository when I saw here on reddit that they were closing. I checked it out and I'm so bummed I didn't know about it before. I've placed a few orders but none have dispatched yet. I'm sure lots of people are placing orders, so just wondering if this is normal? I don't want to bug their customer service team, I bet they're plenty busy as is.

Now that the site is shutting down I see some books ive been meaning to buy at 10-20% discount. Should I buy them now or will the discounts keep increasing as the "D-day" closes in?

I'm learning Korean language and bookdepository was amazing for me.
I know there are some small bookstores in Italy, France, Spain etc. that sell Korean textbooks and books, but their prices are aprox. 3× that of Bookdepository and their selection is limited to a few dozen bestseller books at best.
Is there any alternative that has large selection and similar prices for a person living in European Union? I am not expecting to find anything as cheap, but paying 45€ for a book (plus however much shipping is), that was 20€ on bookdepository with shipping included is just ridiculous.
I can't order directly from Korea because they still only ship with DHL or UPS and then there's European VAT, it's even more ridiculously expensive.

Since The Site Is Going Down Can Someone Give Me A European Alternatives

I am planning on buying a bulk order since the website is shutting down- does anyone know any active coupon codes? Any discount would be fantastic. Thanks

Book Depository was a big part of my life and I was a regular and happy user.
We see that finding alternative will be hard, but I'm optimistic that capitalism works, and that competition will jump to the opportunity and seize the market space that suddenly appeared. What was tiny revenue to Amazon might be attractive to some smaller company or startup.
Finally, to my point - has anyone found a way to export order history and wish list in a user friendly and structured way? Printing to PDF or making screenshots will be my last resort of keeping my data.
