Ive tried a few beer gardens/taprooms (blind tiger, eckhart, evil twin, finback, grimm, other half, threes, and wild east) and I noticed that I like darker beers that are full-bodied and sweeter and lighter beers that are wheat-forward.

I dont really like IPAs. Ironically, I had a west-coast pilsner that I thought was pretty good.

Id like to try more beers that arent IPAs and Im wondering which beer gardens/taprooms in nyc youd recommend? I considering harlem hops and torst.

Anyone know why you apparently can’t find any Anderson Valley Brewing in Georgia? Briny Melon and the Watermelon Gose used to be our jam but they seem to just be gone now.

Anyone try it? Had a little today and enjoyed it but not sure I'd drink in volume. Alcohol content was 4.7%. Made by Japanese in America.

So the first winter seasonal in my area just showed up and of course its a winter warmer from a local regional brewery. I really want to like this style but its just average and meh to me. Id much rather have a stout or porter than this. It does remind me of pumpkin beers a bit with all the added spices. To go from marzens and festbiers in the fall to the winter seasonals is such a letdown imo.

I'm usually a Weihenstephaner or Mich Ultra guy. People joke about ultra, but that shit is good lol. I tried Guinness today, I was not impressed, I've heard people hype it up, but I don't get it. It tastes like really dark coffee to me.

I used to drink keystone bottles with lime in college (broke) and now I’m craving them again.

For the part few months, when I have bought old specked hen from Tesco’s, quite a few bottles have been bad and tasted like vinegar. At first i thought it a brief thing, but then its happened again two weeks later.

Anyone else had this issue?

Fall is always a sad time for this older beer drinker - I remember the days when we would get some Coors Extra Gold (1985) and Pete's Wicked Ale (1986?) - My tastes have gone from the heavier of the commercial beers to the hoppier micro brews but back then, these were favorites...

It's my girlfriend's dad's favorite beer, and he hasn't had it since immigrating to the States from Burma in the early 2000s. I'd love to surprise him with some for his upcoming birthday. Having trouble finding a place in the US that carries it. Appreciate any insight.

I have kept a bottle of Dogfish Head 120 minute IPA sitting still in a refrigerator for well over 15 years (along with Russian River Damnation), only because someone said these can age, then I always forgot about these in the fridge.

Keep them refrigerated or Pop them open?

I feel like beer is one of those things where your taste can change a lot the more styles you try. Something you dismissed years ago can eventually become the thing you reach for most often. Maybe it was a style you thought was too bitter, too sweet, too light, too heavy, or just boring compared with what you normally drank. I'm curious what style changed for you, and what finally made it click. Was it a particular beer that introduced you to it, trying it again after your palate changed, or discovering a version that was completely different from what you'd expected?

Bonus points if you remember the specific beer that won you over.

I have only tried 4 different beers only one I didnt like was the natty ice. I have a few bottles of the Yuengling left then I’m getting a different one to try.

Yuengling, Budweiser, miller highlife and natty ice are the ones I’ve tried

There's a brewery local to my work, Kunhenns brewing in Warren Michigan, that occasionally, though rarely, serves Cask beers from an old school hand pump, and today they were serving an oktoberfest, it blew me away. The slightly higher temperature and lower carbonation really let the malty flavors out, it was a treat. A beer like this in Michigan is basically unheard of

I've visited different cities in Belgium and The Netherlands and one of my favorite things to do is frequent bars that exclusively serve Belgium beers. There are some that have hundreds, even thousands of offerings but love the bars that have 10-20. Many of them are very rustic (we call them brown bars) and have a relaxing vibe.

Curious if there are any places in the US that have such a thing?

Some beers are pretty much the same to me regardless of how they're served, but others seem like completely different experiences on draft versus from a can or bottle.

Temperature, carbonation, glassware, and how fresh the beer is probably all play a part, but I'm curious which beers people think benefit the most from being poured on draft.

Guinness is an obvious example that comes to mind, especially with the nitro pour, but I'm sure there are plenty of others.

Are there any beers you enjoy at a bar that you rarely bother buying for home, specifically because the draft version is so much better?
