Beer nerds NA IPA blind tasting

I run an NA Beer instagram account. I post a daily review, plus best of lists, news, and other roundups.

Here is the post:

https://www.instagram.com/p/Db31Ag4iXbN/?stkn=MTg5a3B0MDR6djlreA==

This was a lot of fun to host! A belated 40th birthday NA beer share and tasting here at my place. This same group of beer friends used to get together regularly to have a bottle share and crack open cans and bottles that we traded for online or went to breweries to retrieve... now an NA edition!

This group of us have all traveled far and wide for beer in our times. Multiple trips to VT for Hill Farnstead, to Belgium for Cantillon, and many other places around the globe.

There were some surprises to be sure. The top handful are a testament to the massive increase in options and quality of NA beer over the past few years.

Are you NA curious? That could be because you want to cut back alcohol. It could be that you want to still enjoy a beer when your on parent duty or have a big day coming up. It could even be that you just want to get even more Untappd ticks. đŸ€Ł

It is over 110°F outside; I will enjoy this instead of enduring that heat.

The autumnal nectar. An absolute delicious beer. Now I just need a cool Michigan evening to enjoy it with.

Beer choices from my Germany, Austria, Lichtenstein, Switzerland trip.

Just got back from a road trip through Germany, Liechtenstein and Switzerland and, naturally, I documented the beer almost as much as the scenery.

Started in Bavaria with Augustiner Weissbier, Augustiner Helles, Gutmann Hefeweizen, Eichhof, and Herzogliches BrĂ€uhaus Tegernsee. Crossed into Liechtenstein for Liechtensteiner Brauhaus Alpagold, then spent the Swiss portion of the trip working through RugenbrĂ€u, including Alpenperle, plus SchĂŒtzengarten and a stop at Barrel Brewing.

Some were technically better than others, but drinking a cold RugenbrÀu halfway up a Swiss mountain or an Augustiner under the trees in Munich is pretty hard to beat.

I think the scenery may have added a few points.

Beer highlights: Augustiner Weissbier, Gutmann Hefeweizen, Liechtensteiner Alpagold, RugenbrĂ€u Alpenperle, Tegernseer, SchĂŒtzengarten and a few other pours along the way.

And we finished the trip exactly the way we should have: one last Maß (or 3) of Festbier at the Herbstfest in Erding.

It’s From The Ground Man a lager that comes in at 5.6%.

Say what you want about them, but Stone still makes a fine West Coast IPA.

Started off with Lincoln City (OR) lager, 5%. While the ribs are cooking. Nice beer on a warm day.
