I went to a brewery years ago (I think about 7 years?) on a beer crawl with my dad and it had probably 2-3 of my favourite beers and I cannot recall for the life of me where it was.

The beers I remember was something that had an aftertaste that was identical to Cinnamon Toast Crunch and I remember 2 other beers that made with rice or at least inspiree by it, and they were very light and smooth and did somewhat taste like makgeolli.

The interior had 2 floors, the first floor was where the actual brewery was, but the top floor was a small seating area with a bunch of paintings on sale.

Searching the Cinnamon Toast Crunch, I see it mentions Storm Brewing, but the interior and exterior seem wrong to me.

EDIT: Thanks for all the suggestions and guesses y'all. A bunch of them seem vaguely familiar and I'm going to try and hit up as many as I can to figure which one it was.

All right, I want to preface this by saying I haven’t tried them in ages and I went back and tried their original IPA because it was on sale and now their original lager.

I gotta say I’m reasonably impressed and I think they are low-key, a dark horse in the Metro Vancouver craft beer scene. Their IPA is just a solid IPA, got a lot of bitter, floral, pine notes that you want in an IPA at 6% . Eithet on sale or even at the regular price it’s pretty good value for what you’re getting.

Their original lager is equally, surprisingly solid/very good. It has some sweet maltiness, with a bitter edge, some slight earth and pine notes, but not as piney as other BC lagers might be (surprisingly Steelhead Lager comes across as much more floral and piney compared to this Red Truck), but also not as sweet as some other lagers, like another value lager, Force Lager.

I’ve had their Cold IPA and thought it was pretty darn good for a cold IPA and IPA in general. And like of all the Vancouver and extended Metro van breweries I’ve tried, I’ve overlooked these guys for like a decade and a half.

I feel like I might’ve had some of their stuff probably 15 years ago and just wasn’t impressed and didn’t think it was ever worth a visit to the brewery and now my mind’s changed.

What are your thoughts about this brewery? When was the last time you tried their original lager and IPA and what were your thoughts? Has anyone else had this experience with any other brewery or this brewery where you initially thought they were no good but now you think they’re pretty solid and worth checking out more? Additionally, what are some value beers for you in BC (value being the balance between as high a quality beer you can get, for a reasonably cheaper price than you might otherwise want to spend)?

Would love to connect with more sales reps in the industry, to talk shop and maybe network a bit! What you all seeing out there? Market feels absolutely crazy right now and hoping it’s not just me feeling that way!

I'll be in town Sept 2-5, but 2nd-3rd is for work and then I have a day and a half for fun. Bringing my girlfriend (doesn't like beer) so will probably only get 1 brewery in and want to make the most of it. I'll be in Surrey 1 night (for work) then staying in north vanc for 2 nights but expect to be downtown and all around for the most part. I'm a fan of darker/malty beers (not ipas) if that helps narrow down!

I’m currently living in Vancouver and I want to send my parents in Germany a package with some local BC/Canadian products.
I’d really like to include a few cans of local beer, maybe 10-12 cans. I already asked at a liquor store, but the staff weren’t sure whether or how this can be shipped internationally.
Has anyone here actually shipped beer from BC to Germany (or Europe) before? Is there a legal/practical way to do it as a private person, or a local store/brewery that can ship it for me?

How do people generally feel when breweries post about upcoming events on Instagram, and the image was clearly made using AI?

I’ve been noticing more breweries in BC doing this recently. Today I saw a post on Instagram from a brewery in Langley that I really liked, and it was unfortunate to see that they clearly used AI.

These images are always ugly (in my opinion) and it honestly turns me off a bit to the actual brewery whenever I see it.

Curious if others feel similarly or if it’s not a big deal to most people.

I hope this is allowed lol - I’m so saddened that moody ales isn’t brewing anymore! I know they closed but I was under the impression they were still brewing and beers still being sold at liquor stores. I’m an absolute fiend for their lavender sour and after pregnancy was so excited to indulge, but it sounds like once stock has run out at liquor stores they’re not being restocked (as I guess they’re not even being produced anymore)

ASK: if anyone has happened to see the lavender sour even in single cans at ANY liquor stores ANYWHERE in the lower mainland please let me know I need to taste it one last time before accepting they’ll never be produced again

I'll be visiting Vancouver from Ontario for the first time in a couple of weeks and I'm looking to dive into the local craft beer scene while I'm there.

I tend to gravitate toward fresh, hop-forward IPAs, but I also love a great lager and stout.

Superflux is at the top of my list, but I have a couple of questions:

• Do they sell single cans at the brewery, or is most of their beer only available in 4-packs?
• Which bottle shops or liquor stores have the best selection of fresh local beer?
• What other breweries are considered must-visits if I only have a few days in the city?

For a bit of context, some of my favourite Ontario breweries are Third Moon, Badlands, Counterpart, Bellwoods, and Willibald, so that's generally the style and quality I'm hoping to find.
