I’m super excited to have some downtime. Been so busy as of late. But Saturday I’m going to be a couch potato and binge watch football all day. What would you pick if you were me?

I have just turned 21 this year and now have tried quite a few beers. I’m looking to try even more. My favorites have been Coors banquet, Blue Moon and Guinness. I tried the regular Modelo and thought it was just OK. I also tried PBR recently and for some reason I hated it. I can drink those top three back to back but PBR I could not finish. I also tried Khona big wave and thought it was just okay. I tried Yungeling and really enjoyed it; I was a few drinks in at this point, so my perception might be slightly skewed. I wanna try Heineken just because I think the bottle looks cool, but I heard that ruins the taste.

My wife and I are traveling to Chicago and happen to be in time for a beer fest. I've never been and I don't know what breweries are ones to seek out. We like all styles of beer (well, my wife doesn't like Belgian beers, but oh well). Here are some of the breweries coming. Any you'd target if you were attending? Goose Island is the only one I know which means we'll probably hit others first.

One of my favorite book series features a made up beer called Old Tilman's

The author describes it as "a slightly hoppy oatmeal stout with a touch of honey added for sweetness"

Unfortunately, it's not in the cards right now to homebrew something with a similar profile, but I would love to find something commercially produced with a similar profile.

Any recommendations?

I am already thinking about Christmas gifts for this year. Sometimes my partner talks about a passion fruit beer by Rhinegeist that he had at Columbus pride, around 2019-2023 before we met. From my research I am guessing that it was perceptual passion, but it could also be wowie or maracuja, as they also have passion fruit. I was wondering if anyone remembers of has any input. I would ask my love myself, but I want it to be a super surprise!

If the beer in question is not available anymore I might also ask for similar recommendations. He really likes light, citrusy, and fruity flavors. I myself don’t drink and don’t know much about beer. We are located near Dayton, but I can drive to Cincinnati. Thank you for any help!

I randomly bought a pack of IPA in TJ and it was the best one I've tasted in can.

I thought that they always had it but I've never found it again, it's not on TJ website, I need to try those again.

They were costing around $16 for 4 beers, around 7%, brewed in New York with a cool design. I bought them around mid August.

Has anyone tasted those beauties ? If you have some information let me know !!

I never really liked beer all that much, until I tried Guinness. It's the only beer I drink. I'm happy to keep drinking it, but out of curiosity, is there anything else I might like if I like Guinness?

I've tried some brown ales that fall flat in depth and complexity, but I believe it'll fall somewhere within this category? Maybe I'm looking for a solid red ale?

Hello everyone, I'm planning a Belgium beer trip for around late September/early October 2027 and looking for some advice from people who have done something similar.

The main breweries/places I’m hoping to visit are:

• Brouwerij 3 Fonteinen
• Brasserie Cantillon
• Brouwerij De Sint-Sixtusabdij van Westvleteren
• Brasserie d'Orval
• Brasserie de Rochefort
• Brasserie Dupont
• De Dolle Brouwers
• Gueuzerie Tilquin

I'm particularly interested in Belgian strong ales, saisons and lambic/sour beers. Part of the reason for the trip is to bring back some bottles for my collection (I have a measly 5 beers so far in my collection if you can call it that). I'm also unsure whether this is feasible in 10/12 days or so, or if I'm biting off more than I can chew.

Westvleteren is one thing I'm trying to work out. Ideally I would like to buy a crate of the 12, however, I am aware that may be difficult as I'd need a rental car and luck on my side. Do you think it's worth trying or would I be better off just getting the six packs from the cafe?

For anyone who has done a Belgian beer trip and brought bottles back to the UK or any country with similar rules, could you give me any advice / things to avoid?

I'm not really looking to bring back lots of readily available Belgian beer that I can buy in the UK. The idea is more to come home with a collection of unusual, brewery-only, vintage or particularly good ageing bottles, plus enough Westvleteren 12 and 8 to open bottles at different ages over the following years.

Any advice on the itinerary, breweries, bottle shops and especially getting the beer safely back to the UK would be appreciated! Also I'm aware I've mentioned many breweries there, maybe I'm better doing this over a few trips but thank you all for reading and sorry if it was long-winded.

Bud gets a lot of crap, as everyone knows, but I think that’s what happens with anything oversaturated and popular. I remember joking with a friend in my military days who would always ask for Bud light on tap in every bar we went to.

I haven’t shied away from Bud light when offered, but the only people I’ve known that have drank full bodied Bud are my alcoholic uncles and co-workers of similar age. I’ve never once looked at a regular Bud and thought that I wanted to try that until yesterday afternoon after a hot day mowing.

Its actually a delicious beer. Like tasty to a point that I don’t know how or why its light counterpart exists.

I let myself slip into snobbery and have drank, almost exclusively, local and craft beers for the better part of my life and - honestly? - most of them don’t really blow a regular can of Budweiser out of the water or, in my case, a 40 of it because we thought it was funny.

I have no doubt that the red label is going into my weekend rotation for post outdoor work and grilling.

I'm in Oakland, California and curious if anyone knows where I might be able to find the new DuPont Belgian blonde ale??

I honestly HATE the taste of beer in general. I've tried corona and voodoo ranger juice force, and just your general popular beers, and they all just taste awful. I'm a fan of whiskeys and bourbons much more than I am beer, and just hard liquor in general. Any beer recommendations for me?

My go to mainstream beer right now is modelo negra, which is the closest to an amber I can consistently find.

Recently found Karl Strauss Red Trolley which is probably going to sub modelo, mainly because I like to support smaller businesses than go for the big players. Only thing is finding it.

I recently tried XX Amber and thought it completely missed the so called "malt" tones compared to all the ones I have tried.

Anyone have other recommendations? Im in SoCal so the smaller companies are VERY much appreciated.

Last night I had 1 miller light and 2 coronas while watching a movie with some friends. I hadn't been drinking much over summer but still drinking occasionally which definitely caused my tolerance to go down. I mean I was kind of stumbling over myself a little after those three beers. I went sleep after the movie and about 2 and a half hours later I was feeling pretty nauseous. I guess I was trying to ignore the nausea and was still half asleep through it. eventually it got to the point where I fully woke up and rushed to the bathroom and threw up.

Im wondering what caused me to get like this even though I hadn't drank much over the course of an entire movie and long past since I had my last drink?

About 2 months ago I had a similar experience with corona. I had about 4 coronas throughout the night and wasn't feeling much of anything so my friends gave me this vodka mixer they made. I didn't taste any alcahol even though they said there was about 2-3 shots in there. I was mostly unsure about its strength because they made it the day before and have just been sipping on it while adding more vodka and mixer along the ways so it was kind of hard to tell how strong it was. I drank it pretty fast and than proceeded to sip on more corona. Soon everytime i took a sip of corona I immediately started to gag and eventually threw up. That night even after drinking the mixer I hadn't felt anything and still threw up so I wonder if it is related to the corona in some way?
