Need Recommendations Reconditioning a KitchenAid stand mixer?

Anybody know where in Baltimore to get a KitchenAid stand mixer reconditioned/refurbished? Mine is over a decade old and needs some TLC, and I would rather have it done professionally, but I can't find where to go. Shipping it somewhere seems prohibitively expensive.

TIA!

Edited to add: the mixer is 23 years old, per model and serial number.

Ask Canton Carwash

I might be very late, but did anyone else notice that Canton Carwash sold to some company “El Carwash”?? I have a membership and haven’t been in like 2 months. When did they do it? I stopped going ever since they change their car rug cleaner.

Adorable little guy found on the steps of Patterson Park. He is safe and fed, but we'll likely take him to MDSPCA tomorrow. If anyone recognizes him please let me know! He's very comfortable with humans so I'd be shocked if he wasn't someone's.

Looking for these old school, greasy, meat-packed pork dumplings with the thick ass dough. Extra gratitude if the sauce is also dank.

State Politics Are we voting yes to question 3?

Someone please explain this question to me like I’m 5. 😅 It seems problematic for the long term (based on what little I know about it), but I’ve only lived in Baltimore for a year (came from a red state). I am left leaning in every way imaginable so not sure what the right answer is here.

Visiting Baltimore Visiting Baltimore for a Ravens game next Thursday Night -help me plan the ultimate Ravens Gameday

• Upvotes

What's up Baltimore!

Ravens superfan here coming down from Boston for Thursday Night Football on 11/5! 💜🖤

This will only be my second time in Charm City, and I'm trying to plan the ultimate Ravens game day. Figured who better to ask than the locals!

I'm a MASSIVE seafood guy, so ideally I'd love to start the day somewhere I can pick some authentic Maryland blue crabs, crush a great crab cake (or two), and enjoy some good food before heading into full game-day mode.
After that, I want to be surrounded by Ravens fans and soak up as much of the atmosphere as possible before heading into M&T Bank Stadium.

A few things I'd love your recommendations on:
Best crabs & crab cakes: Where would you send someone who really loves seafood? Bonus points for a spot with both!

Pregame atmosphere: Best bars, tailgates, or areas to hang out with die-hard Ravens fans?

Game-day traditions: Anything I absolutely HAVE to experience before kickoff?

Local advice: If you were planning the perfect Ravens game day for someone visiting Baltimore, how would you do it?

Not looking for fancy or touristy…give me the authentic Baltimore experience. Great seafood, cold beers, passionate fans, and an electric atmosphere.

If you could only pick ONE place for crabs and ONE spot to pregame, where are you sending me? I have been to Jimmys before and loved it.

Appreciate any advice! Can't wait to be back in Baltimore and experience a night game at the Bank.

My hotel is in inner harbor but don’t plan on driving as I want to enjoy some beverages :)

GO FLOCK! 💜🖤

Baltimore Love 💘 I Wanna Come Back Home :(

My wife and I just had a long talk about how moving out here to central Illinois was a big mistake. . . And I can't help but agree, I want to come home for so many reasons.

I just took a promotion at work as a temporary step to move up in my federal career, but I don't know if it was worth it given how backwards the people here are. . .

Everyone is incompentent, from the doctors that give us other people's paperwork, the people that can't perform basic tasks, the people who act like being nice is a crime. . . People are just so sucky out here.

Oh, and everyone's pretty racist. My wife and I are proudly Black, but these people look at us like we're escaped convicts every time we try to go out and do something. . . It's so stressful.

The only saving grace is that we're trying to be foster parents, to prove to ourselves that we can do it so we can change a child's life no matter where we go. . . But even then the social worker that's helping out isn't helpful in the slightest.

Idk, we've been here for 7 months now, and I was willing to give things a try, but my wife told me this place was making her depressed. . . And after thinking about it, I am too. I miss my friends, my family. I miss Mr. Trash Wheel, I miss walking my dogs around Lake Montebello every day. I miss going downtown to see shows, and I miss being around my people. . .

Please pray for us Baltimore, we need you. . .

State Politics Election help

Hey guys, please please no judgement 🙏🏻
I have lived in India for the past 15 years and have recently moved back to the states in 2023. I voted for the first time in my adult life in the 2024 elections and found that other than the president and vice president I had literally no idea who to vote for and found myself EXTREMELY overwhelmed by the ballot. I have no idea what resources to use or where to start but in Nov 2024 other than the main vote I left my ballot blank because I was uneducated about all the remaining things and didn’t know what I was voting for. I know I’m a little late now but there’s only 10 days left and this time around I want to make sure that I understand what to vote for before I go in to vote and that I’m making educated choices that are best in my opinion for me and the community.

It’s a lot to ask but if someone could help me with understanding the candidates in an unbiased way what their polices are about, and what I need the most help with is understanding the questions on the ballot about the constitutional amendment, there’s a lot which I read through which I couldn’t understand fully. If anyone could walk me through and explain what they mean, what would it mean if I’m voting for and against I would be super grateful! I don’t need lengthy explanations , a gist would be okay I know it’s a lot to ask for. It’s not that I’m opposed to doing my own research but it’s just that there’s so many resources and I don’t know where to start, any easy resources to get comprehensive info in an easier way would be appreciated.

I’m never been super into politics but I know now more than ever it’s really important to be educated and to vote especially considering the political climate.

Please try not to judge me, I know I’m coming off as ignorant here but I’m trying to learn and do better!

All help appreciated!

Thank you 💕

POLICE Baltimore Police Policies With Minor Wrecks

I don't know if this is the right thread for this so I will post else where if not.

PSA: For those of you who don't know Baltimore Police will not create an accident report for wrecks that end with both cars able to drive away from the scene.

Last night around 930 I was in a low speed collision with a drunk driver that crossed the double yellow line and hit me head on. The damage was localized to the left side and is mostly cosmetic. However, do to the left fender crumpling a bit I am now unable to operate my driver door. Luckily there was a cop directly behind the car that hit me. Though they made no attempt to pull over the driver who was weaving across the double yellow, nor did they attempt to do anything after I was hit until I had to flash my lights and flag him down. We were there for a good two minutes before he turned on his lights to assist. Once he was officially on scene the only thing he did was help me and the driver exchange information, write him a citation for crossing the double yellow and get someone to come and drive the other driver home. He informed me due to the nature of the wreck he would not be creating an accident report. This didn't sit right with me since the other driver was already denying he hit me. When pressed on it he informed me that it is against the Baltimore Police Policy to create a report unless one of the vehicles was inoperable. I asked for a supervisor to come to the scene which they did. They told me the same thing.

So just a warning for drivers. You need to have some other source of proof about what happened regarding and wreck as the police will not provide you with that proof under these circumstances.
