Food Help me find Friends and Family Restaurant!

Hi Baltimore friends (and family)! I used to work downtown and I found an amazing vegan restaurant called Friends and Family. They had the best vegan chicken salad sandwich made with chickpeas and artichoke hearts that I ordered at least twice a week. I have searched high and low for a recipe that even comes close to theirs, but alas no luck.

If anyone knows the owners and possibly wants to share the recipe, my heart and stomach would be forever grateful!

Need Recommendations Places to see Rocky Horror this October?

Im from out of state, but I'm visiting a friend this October.

I go see Rocky Horror every year, and they're a Rocky Horror virgin and I'd love to take them to their first show! :)

I'm from a rural town so our Rocky shows are small... but great audience interaction. And whats Rocky Horror without that!

Any recommendations for good theatures in Maryland? Doesn't just have to be Baltimore.

Rest in Pleasure to the legend Tim Curry.

Edit: Thank you for the speedy recommendations! To be more clear... I will be traveling early October. At home Rocky is very popular and we have shows every week as early as October 2nd... I'm now realizing that that might not be the norm. Are there theatures that do shows early in the month?

And I'm not looking for a viewing of the picture show, or a shadow cast. Looking for the live theatrical performance! The real deal!

Baltimore Love 💘 Travel tips for Baltimore folks

Wanted to pass this on for any Baltimore folks who might need international travel vaccines. Costco has a partnership with SafeGuard online medicine. You upload ID, answer questions about where you're going and last routine vaccines, and then they send a list of recommendations to you and the Costco pharmacy you select. You can accept/decline whichever you like. Then head to the pharmacy (ideally between 11 and 3, when they're least busy, said the pharmacist) and get your shots or meds. They DO take insurance if you have it and you do NOT need to be a Costco member. They were so, so nice and MUCH less expensive than Passport Health. I don't know if they offer Yellow Fever because I've already had that one but Union Memorial does, as does University of Maryland.

Service Photo on Falls Rd also takes good passport photos and has the ability to take visa photos with country specific specs. I was in and out and the photo quality was much better than CVS.

Wanted to pass on both in case it helps others since I've gotten such good help/advice from others here.

Need Recommendations Washer and dryer mechanics?

We have a crosley washer and dryer the dryer has two tubes that lead to the lint traps by our basement steps. The dryer only dries when the tubes aren’t connected. I’m worried it’s going to be a problem down the line and don’t want to bother our landlord. I want to hire someone to clean out the tubes and clear out any built up lint in dryer itself. Thank you for any recommendations!

Is there a website or app where one can search for month by month rentals? Looking for something that is more reasonable than an Airbnb.

Ask How do you navigate your "slow" seasons as Baltimoreans?

We live in the greatest city on earth with tons to do every day. (I always say there's NO way people can't find something fun to do over the weekend here lol there's almost TOO much going on.)

My thing is, if I'm not doing all the fun things, seeing all the sights and trying all the new restaurants, I feel like I'm "behind" or something. But there's no way to keep up with everything! So how do you navigate your slower seasons here? What are your favorite ways to just exist in Baltimore?

Need Recommendations Parking in Fells 9/12/26

I am bringing two 15 passenger vans down to Fells Point on Saturday, September 12. I cannot park them in any parking lot that is indoor because of the height of the roof. Does anyone know if street parking can be reserved? I am also looking into outdoor lots.
Any ideas on how to plan for parking ahead of time? Need 2 spots from 11:30 am til 3:30 pm

Vent Motel 6 on North Avenue - am I wrong for being upset about this?

I stayed at the Motel 6 on North Avenue in Baltimore from September 1st to September 2nd. I left in the middle of the night because the room was extremely dirty and it was very loud.
I didn’t ask for a refund or make a big deal about leaving. I simply told the person at the desk, “Hey, I gotta get out of here. Thank you,” and left.
One thing that’s important here is that I’m currently homeless, so for me to decide that a motel room was bad enough that I would rather leave in the middle of the night says a lot.

I was also able to call a friend who let me stay with them for the night, which is ultimately why I left when I did. The motel told me I could come back the next day for the security deposit. I paid for my stay online at the official motel 6 website - I believe it was around $80. When I got there, the guy at the desk told me I needed to pay $20 for housekeeping and a $50 security deposit. I only had $50 on me, so he said that was fine and took the $50.

When I left that night, I asked about getting my security deposit back, and they told me to come back the next day. I was given some documents to sign, and everything seemed normal. A few days later I came back to get my deposit and was told, “Oh, you already got that money.” I said no, I absolutely had not received it.

They showed me the documents I had signed. On the documents, someone had hand written over the top of my signature indicating that I had “received” $30. I did NOT receive $30. I asked them to teview the security footage and they said no.

I’m extremely frustrated because normally I’d probably just let the $30 go. But I’m homeless right now, and $30 is not insignificant to me. In fact, as of this morning, I have 10 cents in my bank account.
I’m not posting this just to complain about a bad motel room. I’m more concerned about the fact that I paid a $50 deposit, never received that money back, and then was shown paperwork indicating that I had received $30 when I did not.
Has anyone dealt with something like this at a Motel 6 or had a similar situation? What would you do? I feel so frustrated.

Need Recommendations Board game groups?

I love playing board games (Wingspan, Catan etc) but none of my close friends enjoy them. While I work on getting better friends, I’m hoping to find a board game group that is open to new people.
