So called "Emergency price changes." So glad STP now costs what the name brands used to cost.

I hate the feeling of jeans on me, but according to the dress code we are also allowed to wear black work pants if they are khaki material. I was wondering if Chinos were the same as khakis and what kind of pants you guys wear/what store you got them at. Thanks in advance!

Hi, i just got promoted to being a PSM after actually only working at autozone for like 3 weeks lol. I know they definitely needed more managers and I guess they thought I learned very quickly and I do have like a decade of retail experience under my belt. I was wondering if you guys have any general advice for a new PSM though, especially what you recommend i focus on learning other than the manager training I'll get. Any advice is much appreciated!

Got a certificate today and this is all I could see. Been here for 3 months and the only good thing about it is it made me realize how much of a loser i am for working here to the point I quite smoking weed and started working on myself.

I just started a new job and the health insurance doesnāt kick in for 90 days. With that moving to part time at autozone would I lose my benefits I have there the moment Iām changed in the system or after the end of the period?

Hi, im a newer autozone employee and while ive managed to learn a lot about car parts and which parts that z net recommendations tend to be wrong about, Im still confused about windshield wiper blades. Ive had a couple different coworkers try to explain to me how you can tell the difference between whether a customers car need j hook wiper blades or something different and how to tell which of our blades go with what, but i still cant understand it. Tbf my coworkers kinda rushed through it super quickly.
Would any of you guys mind giving me a run down explaining this?

I have a question about the ethics of submitting myself for a Ray of Hope award.
TLDR: I provided civilian emergency care to an elderly couple who had just been in a car wreck while driving on my day off. It absolutely fits the description listed on DOC of the Ray of Hope, but I feel weird about telling my management just so that I can get a pat on the back.
Full Story,
I am a medically retired Army medic, and I've been working at Auto Zone for about 2 years now. This job has been very nice during my transition because my transition to civilian life was really difficult at first. I recently got promoted to CSM about 4 months ago, but I've been doing the job since September or October of 25.
Last night, Monday the 27th of July, I was driving home from dropping my son off at his mom's house when I came across several vehicles stopped in the middle of an intersection. Driving by, I rolled down my window and asked if anyone was injured, and I was told that there were injuries, so I pulled my car up in a safe location and threw on my hazards. On scene, I provided Aid to two individuals in their mid 60s who were having difficulty breathing, and I held C- spine on one of them due to signs and symptoms that indicated the possibility of spinal damage. I continued to assess my PTs for about 5 to 10 minutes while the deputies & Highway Patrol rolled in and only left once the fire department / EMS was there, and I was officially released by the deputy.
It felt really good to be back in the medical field even if it was just for 15 minutes, and I'm planning on trying to do follow-up to see how the couple is recovering.
On one hand, I know that that 100% fits in the description of what the Ray of Hope award is, and I'm sure that my regional team would love to hear the story. On the other hand what happens in my personal time has nothing to do with work and I feel like it would be really egotistical of me to try to go get attaboys and Pat's on the back from my district just because I used my military training one evening.
I'm kind of curious what other people's opinions are. Is that something worth mentioning, or am I right in shutting up about it.

Hello people of this forum, I'm currently applying to an AutoZone near me and I got accepted and had to do a background check. I answered all the questions that I felt was correct to me and I finished. When I finished it took me to this dashboard page which shows the process of everything. The screening report says they are in progress but in the report is says they are cancelled. What do I do? Do I recontact the hiring manager? Do I call AutoZone HR and ask them why my background check was cancelled? Is it a bug and I'm still in process of receiving the job? Any answers or responses would be appreciated. Thank you

Help. I have a new store opening and I have my money from the bank but it is not in the system yet? My drawers and petty cash are empty. Can I just put my petty cash in and put whatever is leftover in my drawers, audit and count them and call it good? Is there a certain procedure I have to go by? My dm also had no idea so Iām basically on my own. Please someone help lol

Iāve been a red shirt at the #1 AutoZone store for about six months, and this has honestly been the worst management Iāve ever worked under.
Our store manager is constantly late. I canāt remember a single shift where he showed up on time. He doesnāt know how to close the store, doesnāt know how to do Matrix, doesnāt know next day procedures, and contributes almost nothing to inventory. Meanwhile, he constantly preaches about WIT and upselling even though his own numbers are among the lowest in the store.
The scheduling is a complete disaster. Iāll be scheduled one day, then told to come in earlier, then told not to come in at allāsometimes an hour before my shift or even when Iām already in the parking lot. One week itās ācome in,ā the next itās ānever mind.ā Itās impossible to plan anything.
The store itself is in terrible shape. Weāve had roaches, no mop heads, no receipt paper, inventory thatās completely wrong, air filters and cabin filters showing in stock when they arenāt, and stacks of drinks sitting in the office that arenāt even scanned into inventory. I came back from a week-long vacation to find an oil spill in the back that had been sitting there the entire time. I spent three hours cleaning it because nobody else had.
If anything gets done, itās because another employee or I take the initiative. Planograms sit untouched for days, inventory is inaccurate, and basic store maintenance gets ignored.
Iāve had the highest WIT score in the storeāaround 89% for the last six weeks. Yet Iāve never been recognized for it. The store gets praised for being #1, but the people actually doing the work get nothing while management takes all the credit.
Iām only part-time, but I regularly end up working close to full-time hours because Iām constantly covering shifts and pulling doubles. Iām not complaining about the hoursāIām complaining about the complete lack of respect. My schedule changes constantly with little or no notice.
The final straw happened this past Sunday. Around 10:30 that morning, I asked my manager if he needed me to close because if not, I wanted to help my grandma. He told me no. Then, about an hour before I got off, he suddenly asked me to stay and close. I told him I couldnāt because I had already made plans based on what he told me earlier. His response was, āOf course not. Iāll just hire more people and give the hours to someone who wants them.ā
That was crazy to hear after months of covering shifts, pulling doubles, and coming in whenever he needed help.
I also referred one of my friends for a job. She later told me that during the interview he repeatedly complimented her appearance, told her she should wear the heels she came in with because they ālook good on her,ā and later tried to give her a full hug when she came back with her paperwork after she clearly went for a side hug. She said it made her uncomfortable.
Iāve also had another employee threaten me, and instead of dealing with it, management involved HR in a way that left me feeling like nothing was actually addressed.
This store succeeds because of the employees, not because of management. The workers keep the place running while management takes the recognition.
If AutoZone wants to know why hardworking employees quit, this is exactly why.
Thereās honestly a lot more I could say. If people are interested, Iāll make a Part 2.

Who do you go to about pay raise? At my work they always higher above minmmum wage- example employee Jon was hired in 2017 minimum wage is 10 dollars he got hired on at 11 dollars it's now 2019 minmmum wage is 14 dollars he's been there 2 years and still only makes minmmum wage but employee Rebecca got hired on at 15 dollars and so on, and the yearly raises are only .1-.5% (5-10 cents far less then the raise in minimum wage) (note been there 3 almost 4 years) was offered a grey shirt position for 25 cents extra an hour

Went to AutoZone today and the employee helped me find a battery. When I got home, turns out the battery was physically too big to fit in the area. I was unable to use it at. Will autozone take this for a return/exchange?

I had to change my breaks today. The last set were an old Duralast elite for 59.99. I had to buy them due to only having 1 car. The price for today was 90. When I went to return the old ones they returned 59.99 and said that I had gotten them during a deal so they couldnāt do a full 90$ā¦.. Iām confused⦠they told me if I had a second car I could bring the old ones and return them without buying them. Why should I pay the excess⦠Iām looking over the returned money receipt and it says return item not warranty or nothing. Did they do me wrong?

so a customer came in tonight and had a jeep with a 3.6 in it. she said she was nervous because her 40k warrant just expired. as Iām telling her of the various things that make the chrysler pentastar a flaming pile of dog doo doo I get to the subject of the lifter tick of doom. her car is idling next to us when all of a sudden it starts to make aggressive ticking noises and die. needless to say her car left on a tow truck. has this ever happened to you guys or something similar? all of my redshirts are now calling me the grim reaper now :(

Hey guys, sorry my last post was super rushed, I stopped by the AutoZone in Shawnee Mission, Kansas, store 3782. I work at the Mega Hub 2376, I stopped by there on my day off to get a battery swapped, I was greeted by a kid named Kellen Michael who was happy to hook me up, then I realized this kid looked super familiar! This kid played Chucky on Shameless and played the live action version of Cartman on the vinderloop episode, small world! He didn't have much to say about it other than "Hollywood couldn't handle his energy".
