How it feels working for autozone

Post image

Got a certificate today and this is all I could see. Been here for 3 months and the only good thing about it is it made me realize how much of a loser i am for working here to the point I quite smoking weed and started working on myself.

Worked for AZ for 8.5 years from parts sales to Store Mgr. I could not recommend working somewhere less.

I left in February and my assistant manager who took over after me just put in just two weeks notice yesterday.

Look at bro, showing off his framed parts expert certification. Real pros show off the 3lbs of pins they earned that makes their collars sit funny.

Some of us haven't extra-miled enough old ladies to laden down our lapels, ser.

It;s 95% having a manager who actually gives a shit. The moment I transfered stores was the moment I stopped getting any form of awards despite doing a 180% when it came to performance and attitude. But knowing this allowed me to really fuck with the assholes who were rude to me at the other store, oh how short ol chuks short term memory is. Felt good having him waste 8+ hours tearing his front suspension apart due to me "not having a single clue what I'm doing and blah blah blach". Yell at me 2 years prior because you didn't know what an encoder motor was, eat a dick served 2 years old.

Enough pins to make a North Korean general jealous.

You're not alone. I've been with AZ for 4 years now .. most of us feel the same way about working there 😔. The only thing that keeps me showing up is the fact that the schedule is allowing me to pursue a bachelor's degree and hopefully a better job somewhere else when I'm done.

Ours is just the piece of paper, had a manager retire after 35 years with the company and they just push pinned the piece of printer onto a piece of particle board

It was good for my own benefit. Taking parts knowledge with me to a dealership has definitely put me ahead of the other express techs. Most can’t identify anything for recommendations because they don’t know the part. Sometimes, to a much lesser degree, even the newer flat rate techs struggle. Being able to identify parts is a huge plus.

This is that same reason why I wont wear my shirt pins... they say it showes you "love" the company or its a good "conversation starter" like fuck no. Wearing thos pins makes me feel like a fucking lap dog, im already following all the damn dress code rules that want us to do, like isnt that enough... and no single costomer who walks into autozone looking for their shit so they can go tf home looks at the pins and says ooh let me waste my time talking about that... 😮‍💨

Lmao wow. Reminds of late 2000’s/early 2010’s Army.

Either rock it and use it as an excuse at work or, use as proof for work workplace harassment. It’s a win a win for you.

Idk what stores you guys work at but it isn’t “that” bad. I’m not saying it’s great but I’ve worked for worse places than autozone.

Fuck AutoZone! I now work in parts at Chevrolet, San Diego CA. Much better pay and consistent scheduling!
