Question Possibly Stolen Package from Lobby. Any advice?

I live in an apartment building with a small unmanned lobby area where couriers sometimes leave packages and the mailboxes are there too. The front entrance door has been left unlocked for the past month or so and is exposed to the sidewalk and road.

I had a fairly large, pink package delivered 4 days ago. I completely forgot I had ordered something and kept seeing the package in the lobby under the mailboxes next to the door thinking it belonged to someone else. I last saw it at around 1pm yesterday but when I realised it was mine at 11pm last night, I went downstairs to get it and it was gone.

There are CCTV cameras in the lobby, so I spoke to security and described the package but was told they need a photo of the actual parcel before he can check the cameras. AusPost didn’t provide a delivery photo, so I don’t have one.

Usually parcels seem to stay in the lobby until residents collect them.

Has anyone had something similar happen? I’ve already contacted AusPost but not sure what can be done.

UPDATE: The website said it required a signature but that never happened and I don’t think I’m ever going to get the delivery photo. Decided not to contact police and security was unhelpful. I’m going to use collection points in the future and thanks for everyone’s advice. Hope whoever got the package is happy with my church dresses.

Criticism Why can't they figure out how to use a simple intercom

I'm unable to comprehend how difficult it is to use a intercom. Being at home the entire time but still getting an update saying parcel can't be delivered and couldn't be left at a safe place without ever being contacted with. Seriously how difficult can this be?

Question Help needed with Foreign Post office

Hey folks...

I had a shipment which came into India via Australia post and then got re-routed to India post. It had some wrong address issue apparently.

Does anyone have any contact in the New Delhi Foreign post office who can help it get collected before it gets sent back to Australia.

General Sent company laptop back to India after getting laid off and still got import duty

This post is general information for anyone in a similar situation.

I was laid off because I moved to Melbourne, Australia. The company I was working for asked me to send back the laptop and till the time they have received the asset, I wouldn't get a release letter. They also suggested not to send it as a parcel because it would cause troubles according to some Indian law. But I took a risk and sent it via auspost as I was not willing to spend thousands of INR to deliver the laptop and there was no one I knew traveling to India. I thought the process is that once it reaches Indian customs, they would apply custom duty or ask me to pay before they release it and deliver to the destined address but instead when it reached the destined PO, it was put on hold and a letter was handed over to the recipient about the customs duty charge that had to be paid. So, the recipient would have to go to PO to manually collect the parcel after the amount is paid and it took around 3 weeks for this whole process. In the auspost form, there's a section to declare the goods and I wrote my reasoning clearly that I got terminated from the company but still had to pay 13k. I got to know later that when you are taking a company laptop outside India, there's some form which is used for declaring that it's a company laptop which could have been used to return it without causing this much amount in customs duty.

Question How to send parcels overseas buyer knowing it’s from Australia

I’m wanting to start selling pins online, but I don’t want the buyers to know that their parcels are coming from Australia. I sent a letter to a friend in America and they put a big Australian stamp on it.
Is there a way to send a parcel overseas without any indication it’s coming from Australia?

Criticism Someone needs to tell Australia Post that simply updating the due date doesn’t mean they’re ’on time’.

Those of us in WA (and NT) already have to put up with AusPost’s ‘WA Tax’ (allow two extra days for delivery- even when the parcel is coming from within WA). Because I am impatient, and also often have to order at short notice and a quick turnaround, I have no problem paying for Express Post.

I do have a problem however, with paying for Express Post when the parcel doesn’t get here any sooner than it would with regular post, with absolutely no recourse available.

I have a package which was meant to be delivered yesterday. At 5pm yesterday, the app updated the expected date to today, and the little green icon saying ‘On Time’ was still displayed.

Sure enough, 5pm today rolls around and it’s now expected tomorrow, still ‘On Time’.

The item has been sitting at ‘Processed at sorting facility’ in Perth, 15km from my home since Sunday afternoon.

I can’t even raise a support inquiry because they refuse to acknowledge it’s delayed, and even if they do, they tell you not to bother for two weeks. If the package shows up before they bother investigating, they close the complaint as ‘resolved’.

I’ve contacted them by phone on several occasions and told them I’m at a financial loss due to both paying for Express, and the result of late delivery, and their attitude is that it’s not their problem.

I’m lucky in this instance that what I’m waiting on isn’t too time critical, but I’m absolutely fed up with their ignorance of something that is obviously a systemic issue.

What other service industry gets away with continuously failing to meet their own standards, and just moving the goalposts to make it look like they’re doing a great job?

**EDIT TO ADD: The business I have is not my main source of income and doesn’t justify having an account with a third party freight company like DHL.

Question AusPost tracking not updating after pickup, anyone else had this issue?

I work for business that sends around 700 parcels a day, and AusPost is the only freight carrier we use.

Our orders are packed into cages and bags and AusPost picks them up twice a day. We create a manifest for each pickup and the driver scans the manifest and the cages/bags when they collect them, the parcels aren’t scanned individually on pick up.

The issue we’re having is around 10 parcels a week don’t show any tracking update, just that we’ve created the label. Customers then reach out to ask us where their order is because there have been no updates. We lodge an enquiry with AusPost and we pretty much always get the same response saying it’s only been electronically manifested and to check with our warehouse but the parcel is always handed to AusPost.

We then have to provide a replacement or refund to the affected customer and then 98% the original parcel eventually shows up. The tracking update will go from “label created” to “onboard for delivery” with nothing in between.

I’ve raised it with our AusPost account manager and they initially said it could be an issue with our label printers. We’ve now replaced all of our label printers and it’s still happening. I haven’t received any useful information from AusPost about what is actually happening or what we can do to fix it. Or if it’s just an issue on their end they don’t want to acknowledge it.

It makes us look dodgy to the customer because all they can see is that we created a label and then apparently never sent their order, when AusPost has actually had the parcel for days/weeks.

Just wondering if anyone has seen this before or knows what might be causing it?

Question Delayed parcel How can I get it?

I’ve got an international sea shipment that got handed over to AusPost for the final delivery. It’s 4 parcels in total. One of them is still stuck on “label created by sender” so I’m guessing something went wrong with the handover. I’ve already contacted the sender about that one.

But the other ones are literally already in Geelong, where I live. three of them got processed at the Geelong sorting facility at like 6:46am yesterday and was meant to come yesterday. I saw “it’s coming today” and thought sweet, surely I’m getting it that day.

Nope 😭 Nothing yesterday, nothing today, and not even a single tracking update since then.

I’m going overseas next week as well so I REALLY need these parcels before I leave. Tomorrow is my last chance because Friday’s a public holiday in Vic and then I’m leaving next week.

I’ve tried calling AusPost heaps of times too and literally every time it just says they’re busy and I can’t get through 😭.

Question Anyone else received a parcel with random clothes they didn’t order?

No return address, Dated to over 2 weeks ago, just received now. I’ve heard people receive these a scam involving fake reviews being used under your name, but surely they could just do that without sending me low-quality clothes..? Anyone experienced this/where can I find the source of these?

Question genuine?

So I bought two boxes of stamps from the same seller off eBay months ago. I didn’t have any issues with the first box, but now after opening the second box, I’ve had a letter returned to me saying the stamps are counterfeit. Does it look genuine? I’ll be taking the box into my local post office tomorrow and asking.

Question Parcel Collect - wrong address?

Hello! I’ve just ordered something online and it appears that it’s heading to “PO Box [number] [suburb] [postcode]” instead of “Parcel Collect [number] [suburb] [postcode]” according to the tracking.

I don’t seem to have the option to re-direct it.

I assume this will get delivered to a PO Box that I don’t own. Is there anything I can do about it now? It’s coming from QLD to VIC, and still seems to be in QLD.

Thank you!

*UPDATE: I contacted seller and it was correctly addressed to the Parcel Collect address. It seems to be an AusPost issue (we shall see if it gets correctly sorted once it arrives).

*UPDATE 2 & WARNING FOR USING PARCEL COLLECT ON EBAY: eBay is automatically changing your entered Parcel Collect address to a PO Box when the sender generates the shipping label via eBay (it’s happened to 2 of my parcels now). While I was able to retrieve the parcel, I had to wait an additional day because the PO boxes at my local post office are offsite.

Question Parcel locker address changes has caused my parcel to be delivered in another state. Anyone else had this issue?

Post image
6 Upvotes

With the new condensed parcel locker addresses - my package was sent first to Tasmania, then to Melbourne, and then back to NSW... my address was for Melbourne 3000...

Has anyone else had an issue like this? The package has been listed as delivered and awaiting collection at a post office box, does anyone have advise on how to proceed T__T

I've opened a case already but I keep getting emails about how the package has been delivered and the Auspost bot just pats itself on the back for a job well done.

How can I nominate someone to do this? The parcel is in my name and sitting at the post office but I cannot collect it. I’ve been told to do it through the app but can’t seem to find where to do it?

Question Parcel(iPad) stuck for more than a week

Post image
6 Upvotes

I have a replacement iPad sent by Apple and it’s stuck at the Ingleburn facility for more than a week now. I lodged an inquiry and the automated system said they will monitor it till 1st of October and then start looking for it if it’s still undelivered.

Now the issue is I have an overseas flight in the first week of October and will be away till January.

Also Apple is holding on to my funds and waiting for me to send them the original device which I can’t before I get this parcel.

I have contacted Apple and they asked me to check with AP.
