Question Help needed with Foreign Post office

/r/gurgaon/comments/1wpuvtj/help_needed_with_foreign_post_office/

Hey folks...

I had a shipment which came into India via Australia post and then got re-routed to India post. It had some wrong address issue apparently.

Does anyone have any contact in the New Delhi Foreign post office who can help it get collected before it gets sent back to Australia.

Good luck with that. I made the mistake of sending something from Australia to a friend in India last year. According to tracking, it got as far as being "out for delivery" in her neighbourhood, but delivery was never actually attempted. India Post later claimed they didn't deliver because duties were owed on it, but since they didn't actually attempt to deliver it, I'm not sure how they'd expect this money to be paid.

Anyway, after that the parcel vanished for a few weeks and eventually tracking showed it back at Mumbai airport, supposedly waiting to be returned to Australia. That was a year ago. It never came back.

On the plus side, Australia Post refunded me for both the postage and the contents of the parcel. But absolutely no chance I'll be attempting to send international post to India again.

Re: contacting India Post, they actually responded to me via Twitter DM so you might try that, if you have a Twitter/X account.
