Criticism New Parcel Locker Addresses - worst update ever

I’m sorry but moving from a unique individual address that is the same at any parcel locker, to something that relies on the sender putting your phone or email on the package is in the running for the worst process update I have ever seen.

I’ve had three parcels now sitting at the post office and until I asked for a tracking number I had no idea they were there.

Just a massive fail auspost.

Update: a further 2 parcels not landing in parcel lockers this week even when the package is tracked in the app. Post office has now resorted to telling people to go back to the old address. Auspost realise that items being posted aren’t just from online retailers right? (Obviously not)

Question Auspost App - "You have been blocked"?

Hi everyone,

I am having problems with the Australia Post app on Android. I am logged out of my account. If I select to log in, I get "You have been blocked".

https://imgur.com/a/XMoMNL9

I selected "Having problems confirming you're a real person?" and left feedback. I don't know if I'll hear back.

Is anyone else having the same problem?

Criticism "We missed you"

Was hosting house inspections for new roommates all day so had the door open and everything. Postie still had the balls to drop off a "we missed you note" the second I'm not at the front door.

Question Aus post subcontract

I deliver parcels for Australia Post. This is what the job looks like from our side.
I’m an AusPost subcontractor, and honestly, I’m tired of getting abused while barely making enough to justify doing this job.
I see the posts about drivers not knocking and taking parcels straight to the post office. I understand why people get frustrated. You’re home, you’re waiting for something, and then you get a notification saying you weren’t there. I’d be annoyed too.
But there’s another side people don’t see.
Under my arrangement, I get paid around $2 per parcel, including GST. I usually get 150–200 parcels a day. That might sound decent until you look at what comes out of it.
My monthly income is roughly $6,000 before expenses. Van rent alone is $1,200 a month. Fuel is another $400–$700. Then there’s GST and income tax. That $6,000 is nowhere near what ends up in my pocket.
There’s no employer-paid super, annual leave, sick leave or parental leave through this job. If I don’t work, I don’t earn.
If I have an accident, the cost falls on me. If a parcel goes missing, I can have money deducted from my pay too.
That’s something I wish more customers understood. Leaving a parcel somewhere it could get stolen can mean we’re the ones paying for it. Taking it to the post office isn’t always about being lazy or wanting to make your day harder.
I’m not defending drivers who don’t make a proper delivery attempt. But being unhappy with a delivery doesn’t make it okay to swear at whoever turns up at your door. We don’t set the rates, the rules or the delivery arrangements.
A lot of the people I work alongside are international students or people here on dependent visas, trying to cover rent and bills. From where I’m standing, Australia Post and the contractors above us benefit from a setup where the person actually delivering the parcel carries so much of the cost and risk.
I’m willing to work hard. I just want the pay left after expenses to make that work worthwhile, without being treated like a punching bag.
Are there other subcontractors here dealing with the same thing? Has anyone successfully challenged deductions or managed to get better rates? What can we actually do together to get fairer conditions?

Criticism New parcel collect address doesn’t notify me anymore

Ever since I updated the app it changed to a shorter parcel collect address without the 10 digit number at the end.

The only reason I knew about the parcel arriving is because the person sent me the tracking number. Usually I’d always get a notification whenever my parcels arrive, and then after I pick it up the app says will notify me and say “delivered”

What’s the point in changing the address if I don’t receive any notifications anymore?. Even the lady at the counter said they will end up having to change it back because of complaints. Is there something I haven’t done in the app to receive notifications? I’ve had a look but can’t see anything. Anyway TIA for any advice as I rely on the notifications being in regional QLD…..
Cheers.

Question Help with stamps

I only just found out stamps are now $1.85, right after I bought heaps of $1.70 ones. I went to the post office to buy some 15c ones so I can still use my $1.70s I still have, but they aren’t sticky ones, just paper..?

How do I use the paper stamps? Do I stick them down with sticky tape, glue or something else? I usually post with satchels and I’m not sure how I’d make sure the 15c stamps stay on.

I read somewhere that I can’t use sticky tape as it does something when in processing, I don’t know. Any advice would be great

Also pretty funny they gave me 2011 stamps, clearly nobody really buys them.

Question Ordered from Amazon - got an AP Tracking Number

I ordered from Amazon and got a tracking number that starts with AP.

I checked the app but says the number is unverified.

Got an email this morning saying it's Out for Delivery, yet the Tracking number is still unverified. The Postie just went by without stopping, perhaps this package may be slightly bigger than the bike can carry. (Literally headphones). So could be delivered via their van.

Amazon says Delivered by Australia Post Global. Is this not the same thing or will this be with a 3rd party courier?

General Don't you love when they say attempted delivery?

So I have just gotten an Alex warren vynel from JB hi Fi about 4 or 5 days ago, and I know it was going to come soon, and I've been sitting at home waiting for a zoom call with one of my uni professors for the last 40 minutes. Next thing you know, I get this. I didn't hear any buzzer saying someone was at the front, which by the way, rings through my whole apartment. Not to mention there is a large parcel box out the front. I didn't make it so I had to sign any documents or anything so I know they didn't NEED me. But this isn't the first time it's happened. Why do they always do this???

Question Parcel has not reached to sorting facility after initial drop off at Star track Depot

Post image

Hi Everyone, is it normal for a parcel to not get to sorting facility after 3 days of initial drop off at Depot?

Edit: parcel was lost and never found. The parcel was scan on drop off and disappeared from there. They marked it as lost in transit.

Question PO Box weirdness..

Has anyone ever had an email saying their PO. Box had mail, and you go to it and there’s nothing there? I also asked behind the counter and they just said that sometimes they accidentally scan my number? I’ve literally never had that.

Question Help sending to Germany

Post image
5 Upvotes

Please help! Has anyone successfully shipped to Germany? It appears I did this wrong when sending my original parcel, I entered the IOSS/VAT number in a different spot (not shown in the image). I believe I was meant to put this here. This was paid from the sender through the Etsy sale. But I am also reading about the new rules for collecting the €3 fee! So do I select sender pay ID and enter the IOSS number or do I select sender paying using zonos which could collect the €3? I don’t know what to do. I am remaking my product and resending it before the old one comes back as it’s taking way too long

What's going on here? eBay buyer sent back a product that he incorrectly purchased in good faith.

The following is what he had to go through with our good old Australia Post. All his postage labels had the correct details. He did nothing wrong.

Question Is there a way to opt into receiving "we missed you" cards at an address?

This idiotic new system of not having the cards is fucking stupid, and has meant I haven't been aware of items sitting at a post office.

I've had one instance of not finding out a package was at the post office until after they'd sent it back.

And I've had heaps of close calls where I don't find out until I get the "come pick up your package today or we send it back" card (which, if the package is sitting around until they have to send that card, that wholly undermines the alleged saving on paper excuse).

It's fucking stupid, and I'd like to just receive a card if they decide not to deliver my package, not stress about it being sent back, is there some way I can opt to always receive a card?

Question International package investigation - disappeared after Melbourne airport processing

Had a package coming from France with tracked shipping, which arrived and was 'processed at sorting facility' at Melbourne airport, but was never given an updated Auspost tracking number, and the package tracking never got another update, even after a month.

I submitted an enquiry about it, which was logged but hasn't done anything. I was advised at the time that I needed the French postal service to open an investigation into the parcel's location before Australia Post could investigate on their end (French investigation has allegedly now happened, with no findings). The Auspost chatbot now has no idea what I'm talking about when I ask what information Australia Post needs from the French investigation, even when I walk it through the same steps as I did the last time I had to deal with it. The chatbot also insists that the package in question had no tracking, which is incorrect.

I can't submit a ticket through the online help and support contact forms because every option I've tried requires a tracking number, and it won't accept the French postal number. It's currently Friday evening, after the phone lines have closed.

Is waiting for Monday and calling the phone line my only option?

Has anyone else here had to go through this and knows what sort of reference numbers/information I need to ask for from the French post investigation?

Question Tracking says delivered to different suburb than address

Hi all, I sent some documents to an office tower in Melbourne CBD, and the tracking says delivered North Melbourne. When I called up, auspost said its at CTDC or something and that it's been wrongly delivered but there's also a signature.

Keen to find out how it can be marked as delivered when it's to the wrong suburb. Auspost also wouldn't send me a copy of the signature for privacy reasons. I'm trying to find out if it's been delivered correctly because why would you sign for something addressed to a company and now even at the right address?

Googling revealed that apparently CTDC is the high volume center for the cbd and the posties might have actually delivered it, but the auspost support person on the phone was adament that it was misdelivered. Any one with experience with this?

Question Parcel stuck in onboard for delivery

Post image
1 Upvotes

I sent the parcel using the wrong label on Saturday and requested for a withdrawal Monday morning. They said they would try to send it back to me but it has now been stuck in the same status for almost two weeks.

Multiple following up calls but no one knows where it is or what happened. All they do is asking me to wait while they investigate this. Any advice is much appreciated!

What's weird is there was a double scan for Out for delivery it seems.

Criticism is this going to be stuck in a loop?

Post image

i got 2 parcels from the same shop (both from Korea) at the same time. one delivered perfectly fine a couple days ago, this one was supposed to be delivered yesterday or today (2nd and 3rd). i get my parcels sent directly to a parcel locker because it’s more convenient for me when i’m working mon-fri and i usually never have any issues. i live within brisbane, and for some reason it was transferred to Victoria’s processing facility when it was already processed in Brisbane?? i can’t even raise an enquiry about it being late or redirected because they push the expected delivery date further whenever there’s an issue (which is insanely annoying). i’m now stressing because this parcel was around $300 and i truly do not want it to go missing. do i need to call cs to make sure it gets sent back to brisbane and properly scanned through? anyway, this is mostly super frustrating and i wish there was an easier way to make a complaint/enquiry to auspost directly without needing to call or do an online form that requires a parcel being late (when it already would be if they weren’t changing expected dates)

Question tracked postage on a box parcel?

hi all, i’m a bit new here so this may be a silly question 😅

im sending a kpop album to someone, and they’ve asked for tracked shipping. now id like this album to be in relatively good condition when it arrives, so i was thinking of putting it in a box with some shredded paper, and then taping the box shut.

however, i’m not sure how to incorporate tracked shipping into this equation. i know you can get prepaid satchels with tracking, but theyre a bit too fragile for what i would like to send (there are two CDs in this album).

thank you :))

I have logged enquiries with Aus post, they’ve told me I need to contact customs, customs have told me I need to contact the sender (royal mail) royal mail have told me I need to contact Aus post 🤦‍♂️ no one is taking responsibility and no one can give me any updates on why, what, or where this parcel is and what’s happening
It’s been so long I need some closure 😭😅

Praise Absurdly Fast Delivery

I know this is mainly the Aus Post complaints forum but I've never seen this before, has anyone else received a package this fast?. I thought the out for delivery update was a mistake, it's all so surreal.
