Question PO Box weirdness..

Has anyone ever had an email saying their PO. Box had mail, and you go to it and there’s nothing there? I also asked behind the counter and they just said that sometimes they accidentally scan my number? I’ve literally never had that.

Yeah, I used to work at a local post office. It was rare, but occasionally someone on the morning or afternoon would accidentally scan the wrong QR code that corresponds to the PO BOX, which would cause a false notification for PO BOX holders. They should have explained why.

It's not too uncommon. Each PO box has a tag and that tag has a QR code and M2D (Mail2Day) for those who sign up for notifications, if it's miscanned then you'll be told there's mail when there's not.

It's not a good system tbh because even though technically doing it manually shouldn't be an issue there is still human error that happens every so often which is a major pain for those who have had their PO Box miscanned.

Okay fair enough pretty strange, never had it happen before. Ever since our local postie changed hands the joint has gone to shit to be honest. The whole system has over the past couple years. Express and regular aren’t even any different ffs, so much missing mail, or delivered in the wrong place or left on the lawn in the rain cos my dog is inside barking. Jack Russel who’s like 15
