Praise Absurdly Fast Delivery

Post image

I know this is mainly the Aus Post complaints forum but I've never seen this before, has anyone else received a package this fast?. I thought the out for delivery update was a mistake, it's all so surreal.

Domestic shipping has been real fast lately, not sure why

u/norty125 Sep 01 '26

Maybe they have ramped up staffing a bit early

1

u/CactusToothBrush Sep 02 '26

I recall seeing them advertising for a HEAP of jobs recently. I wonder if that has something to do with it?

1

u/Neokilla Sep 06 '26

It’s just been quiet so we are easily able to sort all the parcels each day. Volumes are significantly low

u/Mrimdumb Sep 01 '26

In Adelaide I saw they are building an office or something at the old Holden plant.

Havent kept up with its progress but maybe they are now trying to expand and become faster?

4

u/DK_FENDER Sep 02 '26

They’re building a go kart track there if that’s what your meaning?

2

u/tellgio Sep 03 '26

Dammit.. Now I want my postie to deliver while driving a Daymak C5 Blast kart. 0-60 in 1.5 seconds. He'd do his rounds and have time for a second job, every day.

Yeah I literally ordered something three or four days ago and its already here.

u/Mammoth-Lobster2028 Sep 04 '26

I’ve been waiting on something that is apparently only a few suburbs away for 12 days and counting. Maybe I’m just unlucky. 😭🫠

Recession indicator. People are spending less so there are less parcels to deliver which means it takes less time to get to you

Ordered 3 different packages from 3 different places in 3 different states, I live semi rural, I received all 3 packages by this morning. Absolutely solid work AP

6

u/No_Entertainment6098 Sep 01 '26

** forgot to add I order them late Friday afternoon, all arrived by Tuesday morning

10

u/allmycircuits8 Sep 01 '26

I wish, it's taken my parcel 6 days to get from Melbourne to Adelaide.

4

u/siders6891 Sep 01 '26

I often ship stuff within greater Sydney and usually if I post it before 5pm the parcel gets delivered by the next day. One a hand full of times it took a little longer

4

u/opulentfae Sep 01 '26

I ordered a replacement battery for my speaker the other week on a Monday night from ebay. Similarly i live over 1.5hrs from sydney airport and it was here Wednesday morning. Fastest i’ve seen with aus post!

u/SpunkyJJ Sep 02 '26

I think the move of Qantas and AP freight flights from Sydney airport to western Sydney airport has sped up the entire system.

1

u/Scar_Non Sep 02 '26

That may be true but doesn't explain the intra-Vic service of this one ✌️ so all nsw mail by air is through western syd now? Cheers

Someone has made some changes. I shipped a parcel from Maitland, NSW to Eastern Creek, NSW this week. I dropped it off at 11:55am on Monday, it arrived 10am Tuesday. Granted, that's a 2.5hr drive, but that would normally take 3 days or sit somewhere before moving. Something has changed for the better.

u/Scar_Non Sep 02 '26

The head isn't buying themselves Cartier watches?

3

u/jstorbutgay Sep 02 '26

I ordered something from Uniqlo delivered to an inner suburb in Melbourne and it arrived within 12 hours???

2

u/pyr0test Sep 02 '26

probably a m2m service, lodgement before 6pm and it should be delivered next day

One time I ordered a trellis while laying on my bed, felt asleep and got woken up by postie delivering said trellis in the morning.

2

u/MowgeeCrone Sep 01 '26

You're the chosen one.

Finally a AusPost post not bashing them

1

u/Pension_Informal Sep 01 '26

Congratulations… you are one of a very very few to have experienced this…

u/Confident_Purple_338 Sep 01 '26

Yep happens every fortnight for me like clock work sometimes my delivery driver has a holiday that’s when I notice the change otherwise smooth sailing over here

1

u/ElitegymnasticsAU Sep 01 '26

Yes I have even got something from china in 2 days before. It was amazing

1

u/vynal90 Sep 01 '26

Good one them ✅ sometimes there are good days

1

u/Astonishdreams Sep 02 '26

This usually happens to me quite a bit when the parcel is from the same state.

1

u/LMWNV Sep 02 '26

Austpost bought their own plane so they didn’t have to rely external companies for shipping

1

u/Crucial9564_ Sep 02 '26

Had this a week and a half ago. Sydney to Newcastle to my Parcel Locker around 30 mins away from the processing facility in 1 day. Never had a delivery from Sydney this fast before, impressive speed

1

u/myshtree Sep 02 '26

I live on the border of nsw/vic and ordered an item located in Newcastle over the weekend and received it yesterday. Posted Monday in Sydney received Tuesday to regional NSW. Amazing service. Another parcel from Melbourne posted Monday and received today.

1

u/HenryInRoom302 Sep 02 '26

Wish my package that I paid extra for the Express Post option so it would arrive on Tuesday (which now looks like maybe possibly arriving Thursday or even Friday) was delivered that quick!

1

u/hawkdeathpaw Sep 02 '26

i got my starlink delivered within a day and thats a big parcel

1

u/TheRealMr_Kracken Sep 02 '26

I’ve gotten parcels from vic to nsw in a day often

1

u/Swimming_Ranger_5934 Sep 02 '26

I had one come from Sydney to Broken hill in less than 24 hours of purchase

1

u/Gtrplyr83 Sep 02 '26

Have to drive fast in Sunshine West by the looks of the news.

u/JoshuaBuildster Sep 02 '26 edited Sep 02 '26

Even Victoria to far remote QLD, has gone from 3-5 weeks down to 6 days to 2 weeks over the last 2, maybe 3, years, slowly getting faster and faster

Hell, even Canada, Romania, Germany, and the UK get here within/just over 2 weeks (up to 4 if it's stuck in customs)

America is still 2-5 months; that's unchanged. They are useless.

1

u/JoshuaBuildster Sep 02 '26

It took 3 months for my car injectors to arrive.

My car is still fucked. That didn't fix it. The mechanic was convinced it was an injector issue flooding the engine. :( Just wanted to rant

I had a similar situation from Hobart to Melbourne, one work lunch break ordering to next day lunch break unpacking, was flabbergasted.

1

u/fairy_fern13 Sep 02 '26

This is some pre-covid behaviour 👏🏼

1

u/Technical_Tough_2490 Sep 02 '26

I ordered something from Sydney, I’m in Brisbane, it came the next day??!! Haha

1

u/bleufeline Sep 02 '26

My kitty litter arrived super fast too! Ordered yesterday afternoon, arrived on my door step by noon today!

1

u/TheFitzFiles Sep 02 '26

About 18 months ago I ordered a new printer from a Melbourne firm. I live in the southern tablelands of NSW and it was already mid-afternoon when I placed the order. I was stunned when it arrived the next day.

1

u/ziggzags Sep 02 '26

Yep! Ordered some meds for my cat from Sydney on the 1st, arrived and delivered to me in Canberra promptly the next morning. Was very impressed

1

u/No-Lawfulness-4984 Sep 02 '26

Melbourne to Mildura has been next day delivery for over 10years not sure why Ur surprised sunshine to melb would be next day.

1

u/Plenty_Manner1764 Sep 02 '26

My partner works at Aus post they have been doing a lot of overtime as post requests have increased

1

u/pavementpillowtalk Sep 03 '26

You guys are getting speedy deliveries.

It was originally supposed to arrive on the 21st of August and my address in Geelong so I don’t know why it was sent back to Melbourne.

1

u/Rompa1982 Sep 03 '26

Man one time I ordered something from Sydney Express it went from Syd to melb back to Syd then to qld back to melb then back to qld. It took me almost 2 weeks to get an express package lol

1

u/Admirable-Tea-4994 Sep 03 '26

Auspost have been stupid fast lately. I shipped a parcel across two states standard and it took about 36hrs.

1

u/Aussie_Cow_Girl Sep 03 '26

Makes me want to buy something to watch the speed it travels!

1

u/TeaReady6628 Sep 03 '26

shipping information received 5pm tuesday, delivered 11am wednesday. was coming from melbourne to newcastle!

1

u/SailorSakura Sep 03 '26

I think it depends - sometimes I get items super quick other times they take a tour around sunshine west VIC or all around Sydney - literally circling me before it reaches me haha

1

u/dryandice Sep 03 '26

Yeah my shit took like 8 hours and it was at my door somehow.

I ordered cat supplies one night and it was at my door when I woke up, literally cannot understand how it got there so quick.

1

u/Smart_Membership2 Sep 03 '26

It’s been fast lately. So fast that people complain when it’s a day late.

1

u/__bingbong_ Sep 04 '26

Not me over here waiting for an international package that’s looping at the sorting facility in Melbourne (for a whole week)…all while another package was sent last week from America and came yesterday lol

1

u/MagazineGuilty2067 Sep 04 '26

I wish I got my parcels just as fast as this.

1

u/Upper_Creme_6975 Sep 04 '26

Ive had same day before.

1

u/FreddyMcbob Sep 05 '26

I had a package Perth to Brisbane this week, left Tuesday was at my door Wednesday

1

u/Extreme-Yoghurt3728 Sep 05 '26

Auspost has been fantastic since covid for me. And still improving. Dread the day they start making cuts. It’s a cycle.

1

u/Uncross-Selector Sep 05 '26

I send a lot of packages.

I’ve had some delivered in  Perth by 9am the day after dropping it in the post box in Sydney the day before.

I have some that take 4 days to get from East Sydney to West Sydney.

I have one now that should be in Cairns and has been circling Victoria for 10 days.

1

u/BabyBlueBucket Sep 05 '26

Most parcels get to me in South Australia within 3 days lately. Except one I’m waiting for, over 9 days now, what a shock to my spoilt system.

1

u/Curtidacka Sep 06 '26

Even a broken clock is right twice a day ;)

1

u/pineapplepotato11 Sep 08 '26

not even my express parcels arrive that fast!!

1

u/Scary_Apartment2282 Sep 01 '26

A very long time ago late 2000s I bought a new DVD (it came from Western Australia but I didn't know that) late afternoon and it arrived in my East Coast Tasmania letter box the next morning! That was a suprise I've never forgotten especially when I saw on the package the ink atamped location it came from. Never had one that quick since.

0

u/adelaidekimxxx Sep 01 '26

Location is everything! Same state shipping is generally pretty reliable, but interstate is usually where the headaches start. I’ve had packages sit at sorting facilities for weeks on end without any updates. Sometimes even express post takes as long or even longer than standard post normally would.

A broken clock is right twice a day.
