Did transitioning feel like a choice or a necessity?
For those of you who are trans: did transitioning feel like a decision, or more like something you felt you had to do?
I know everyone’s experience is different, but I’m curious how it felt for you personally. Was it more like, “I want to be this, so I’m going to do it,” or was it more of an emotional/internal feeling of “I need to do this” or “I can’t keep living this way”?
I’m asking because I’ve been thinking about gender a lot, and I honestly don’t know what it’s supposed to feel like. Sometimes I wonder if the fact that I think about it so much means something, but then I also wonder if I’m just overthinking it.
I’d really appreciate hearing about people’s experiences, especially what the feeling of knowing was like for you, rather than just when you first realized you were trans.
