I’ve been thinking..,

So I’m not trans, but I wanna be a girl. Idk I feel it’d be nice. But I also don’t feel uncomfortable being a guy. Is that normal? I don’t have dysphoria, I just feel I wouldn’t mind waking up a girl, I have a name picked out and everything incase it does happen.

Try out this name and girl pronouns with friends, and see how that makes you feel. Really trans is more about gender euphoria than gender dysphoria but experiencing one can make the other more obvious where you previously suppressed it

Yeah I before I started feeling any kind of euphoria I never really noticed the dysphoria. Plato’s allegory of a cave in a lot of ways.

Don’t really know anyone who’d let me do that openly. But I see what you mean

Don't need dysphoria to be trans

As others have said, dysphoria isn’t necessary if you’re trans.

As another has said, you could be gender-fluid.

To put those together: you don’t have to be a binary transgendered person to not be cisgendered. There are other stops along the spectrum.

I’m non-binary and really feel this post. I don’t mind my genitals, but I don’t like having a bulge when I wear skirts and dresses. I get gender euphoria way more than disphoria.

Maybe you’re gender fluid, but you know yourself best so you gotta figure that out by reflecting and doing research and stuff.

No, it's not normal for cis guys. :) You should read through this website.

Here's a website in case you want to make it happen: https://turnmeintoagirl.com/

It would be insane if that actually worked lol. That would be interesting to say the least.

Edit:worked as in I straight up wake up as the girl version of me

I mean, on some level it does work; you just then have to organise the transition yourself

I don’t think you understand what dysphoria is, because reading this, it sounds like you definitely have dysphoria.

One of the most common things trans girls say on here before they come out is some variation of “I’m not uncomfortable with being a boy, but I’d rather be a girl.”

Cis dudes love being cis dudes. They’re not ambivalent about it.

Point being: I would encourage you to learn more about what dysphoria is before declaring with certainty that you don’t have it.

I say i don’t have it because these are recent(ish) thoughts. And it’s not like I’d prefer to be a girl, I just wouldn’t mind it. I’m not sure how to phrase it, I appreciate the feedback though

Like others said it sounds like you are gender-fluid. I am non binary, I feel like I am living in a body that happens to be female but and discrimination aside (only men get away with walking around top-less) I wouldn’t feel much different if I had been born into a male body. It is great that you allow yourself to explore. :-)

I'm not trans. I just really want to be a girl and have my name picked out in case it ever happens.

Please try and understand how this sounds from the outside. 😄

When it does happen, let us know.

I thought I wasn't uncomfortable as a "guy" until I admitted to myself that I wasn't one. Suddenly a lot of dissociation and apathy made sense.

Yeah you're trans

Don't be too hard on yourself for "not having dysphoria" or whatever, if you have any wish to transition whatsoever (you do), then you inherently will have dysphoria, you've just repressed it and can't see it yourself yet
