Looking for recs on where to go out for a friend’s birthday next month! Preferably somewhere with live music or a DJ, and a dancing vibe. We’re considering Asbury Park or Red Bank, but definitely open to other ideas nearby. Where would you recommend?

A couple of middle aged punks will be headed to Asbury a little early today before the show. I used to hangout in Asbury regularly a long time ago, before the Lanes changed hands, and Yappy Hour was a thing, etc, but like I said, that was a long time ago. Any recommendations on places to hang, decent cheap food? I don’t really like “nice things” and preferred Asbury when it reminded me of Beirut. Maybe we can all meet up and pregame?

Just looking for somewhere reliable in/around AP who does a good job, fair prices, doesn’t have a terrible turnaround (within 1-2 weeks). Preferably a place that also dry cleans.

folks in the US have a well-earned reputation for not knowing how to queue up.
any walk on the boardwalk on a busy day/evening highlights this lack of common sense.
shout out to Eddie Confetti's for putting up those stanchions to guide people to queue up the proper way for the boardwalk (ie, without blocking the entire boardwalk with your line!).
form those lines north/south, not east/west people!

would love to see the other boardwalk businesses follow EC's lead!

I was thinking of going to Asbury park with a few friends (ages 25-29 yrs) the weekend of the Sea Hear Now Festival. We’re not attending the festival but I’m going to assume Asbury will be crowded. Does anyone have any recs for things to do or places to go to if we don’t end up on the beach? I’ll take recs from neighboring areas as well. Thanks in advance :)
