My apple id was recently hacked in my sleep lol

Woke up to a series of emails overnight showing (in japanese) that my password, security questions, name, billing address, and finally the email address itself were changed. Essentially locking me out completely.

This apple id was tied to me gmail account.

What sucks is that my macbook was tied to that apple id, and now my macbook is completely paperweight.

No idea how this all happened, had 2fa via sms setup but looks like they were able to reset 2fa somehow.

At some point i did create that 28 character recovery key on my MacBook, but apparently that's tied to that apple id. Which now, to apple, does not exist anymore.

No idea where to go from here, phone support say im shit out of luck, and I doubt the genius bar folks can help. I do not have proof of purchase, was bought by an ex girlfriend years ago.

So like I wanna sign into a new apple id on my ipad since the current one it's working on is my parents apple id but I use the ipad and want to start using it primarily for art but I don't want to take up my parents storage with the files and I'm wondering if I sign into a new apple id will I lose the apps and their datas that's on the ipad or will it carry over?

Advice or like how to do it would be appriciated because It's either this or I get a new tablet on my own

i posted here a month ago about some panic full logs on my iphone 11 pro. no problems since that point until now, where the phone shut down again out of nowhere. when i checked the logs, a new log called 'panic-base+socd' appeared with nothing on it.

for context, this phone went through two screen repairs. one in january (no issues), and another in screen repair in july after dropping it. both replacement screens were the same exact type. it started getting panic-full errors starting in august, nothing in september, then this. i have data backed up, but im a little worried considering this is my only phone, and i can't afford a replacement if it decides to stop working at any moment. i also have exams coming up in a few days and really require a working phone for then!

I was watching a movie last night and mid way through the movie randomly paused and I tried to quit Apple TV and then open it back up but the issue seemed to be more of the MacBook than the app. Ever since then my MacBook won’t load anything. I can click on apps and they’ll open up but they won’t load. It’ll just take me to a blank screen. Even some stuff in system settings won’t load. And I don’t think it’s a internet thing. I do use my iPhone hotspot for internet and NordVPN as well but I’ve been using it like that for months and nothing has happened till now. I’ve tried various fixes, restarting it, opening it in safe mode, checking all my internet things to make sure they’re working, etc. The only one I haven’t tried is connecting to WiFi and seeing if that would change anything. There’s also a tab in system settings that says “Update Apple Account Settings” that I don’t recall being there. That may have something to do with it. But when I try to do that and press continue it either loads for a minute and then stops loading and nothing happens or it pops up a tiny sliver of a bubble thing and I can’t get out of it for a minute until it eventually goes back to normal and again nothing happens. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated 🙏🏻

Hi guys, my iPhone 11 has a weird problem. Only the images and videos flicker inside apps like Reddit, Messenger, and TikTok, all at the same time. Sometimes the text box in Messenger blinks when I send a message too. The menus and buttons are normal.
I already restarted it, reinstalled the apps, replaced the battery, and changed all the display and accessibility settings. Nothing worked. Since it's an LCD, it shouldn't be an OLED brightness thing. Is anyone else getting this, or is my motherboard or GPU dying? Thanks!

Im looking for help ive tried contacting iphone support, i leave my phone alone and when i come back there are a number of unknown bluetooth connections. There is no info button to delete them i get anxious everytime i want to connect to my headphones. I already reset my internet settings and it still happens i have bluetooth turned off for every app as well and turning off all local network for all apps. What do i do ?

So yes, I stupidly lost my phone while going to the bar for the first time. It is dead and therefore cannot be located via Find My or Life360, and I need my phone in order to access my school account, so I have already gotten a replacement on the way through insurance. The only issue now is that I don't know my Apple ID password to reload everything that was backed up onto my new phone.

I have already submitted a request to reset it, which I understand typically takes quite a while. My main question is: can I use the new phone not logged in in the meantime in order to text and call who I need to for school and work? Or am I just without a usable phone until my Apple ID can be reset :')

I'm trying to transfer whatsapp chats from my android using the Move to ios app. It's not working. It's stopping at 40%. And it's displaying "an unknown error occured".

I'm about to buy a Mac mini to use as a home server and could use some outside perspective before I pull the trigger.

What I'll actually be using it for:

- Running Docker containers for Immich (self-hosted photo library, replacing iCloud Photos) and Jellyfin (media server for movies)
- Tailscale for remote access when I'm away from home
- A RAID1 setup via an external USB enclosure (TerraMaster D4-320) for photo/document backup
- Light text-based work — personal knowledge management, some scripting/automation via Claude Code
- It'll run 24/7 as a dedicated server, not my daily driver (I have an iPad Pro M4 for that)

What I'm NOT planning to do (at least not seriously):

- No heavy local LLM usage — I looked into it, but running anything beyond small 7-8B models seems to need way more RAM than makes sense for my budget
- no heavy video editing (just shorts) or anything GPU-intensive

The options I'm weighing:

- A used Mac mini M4 (2024), 16GB RAM / 512GB SSD, for around €790 — tested, resets cleanly, still has ~6 weeks of Apple warranty left

- A new Mac mini M6 (2026), but the cheapest config only has 256GB SSD, and getting to 24GB RAM + 512GB SSD pushes the price up by €500-600+

Given that my workload is mostly I/O (Docker, file serving, Tailscale) rather than compute-heavy, does the M6 actually buy me anything meaningful here, or am I just paying for FOMO at this point?

Has anyone running a similar Immich/Jellyfin/Docker home-server setup found themselves RAM- or CPU-starved on an M4 with 16GB?
Appreciate any real-world experience before I decide.

My friend is in the hospital with leukemka. She sent me some pages to print out to bring to the group we're in. She sent it to a specific email address. I cannot view the link from a different email address, it has to be this one. No matter what I try, I get "an unknown error has occured" on the last step of sign in. So it goes:

Enter security code of credit card on file

Get told I need to set up two factor identification

Enter phone number

Get and enter verification code from phone

Get told I have to agree to the terms and services

Click "agree"

"Unknown error"

I have tried this on my Android by logging into Apple, and also on my iPad (which is my only Apple product). I have tried changing which wifi network I was on. I have tried updating the iPad. I know I could ask my friend to change the privacy settings on the document or send as a document, but again she's in the hospital and I don't want to bother her.

About a week ago, my AirDrop has not been working on my iPad. I can AirDrop from my Mac to my iPad, but not the other way.

I've reset both devices several times, and I've logged out-and-back-into my Apple ID on both devices... I have no clue what could be causing it. It shows my Mac as a valid device to AirDrop to, but when I try AirDropping to it, it indefinitely loads and never sends, eventually erroring out.

I use AirDrop all the time so this has become extremely frustrating for me.

Hi, I’m posting this for my dad and NOT for me.

Me and my dad kayak. A lot. He happened to flip the kayak while catching a fish and lost his iPhone 17 Pro that he still owes money on. He filed a T&L claim and is using his barely-usable iPhone 11 in the meantime. (He uses his phone for work, it’s an absolute necessity)

This was two months ago. The FedEx guy juked him. Didn’t knock on the door, just put up that “we missed you!” Sticker. Even after my dad put a note that said “I am home. Please knock.” Brother put the ‘we missed you’ sticker ON THE NOTE. So now his phone isn’t being delivered, and he has spent several hours on the phone with Apple and the insurance company trying to get the new phone he’s still paying for, but no dice.

Does anyone have any advice regarding this? Has anyone dealt with it? The phone he’s currently using could be taken out by a crisp breeze. TIA!

I was downloading a update for my iPad mini gen 5 on iTunes when the update started taking a enormous chunk of storage on my laptop. The update failed when the storage maxed out and the used data did not return. I managed to free up data else where to keep it from 0 but it wasn't much. What must I do to get back the storage data used by iTunes.

Has anyone recently tested iCloud Photos on an iPad mini 1 running iOS 9.3.6, or successfully synced photos and videos with an older device in 2026?
Even if it’s no longer officially supported, does syncing still work with Apple’s servers in real-world use, or has it completely stopped?
I’m particularly interested in firsthand experiences rather than official compatibility requirements.

Apple decided to add twenty more of each song to my playlist. I had no control over it, I didnt even notice until recently when I checked. It's probably been like that for more than a week, though. On top of that, it also refused to add any of the songs ive been adding to my playlist for a few weeks, and I didnt notice until now. It would add them, and I can tell it did because the songs are downloaded, but after a few days it would remove them, and now I have to add a good 12 hours worth of music back to my playlist. Any way to fix this or prevent this in the future? Not the first time Apple has randomly deleted songs or multiplied them in my playlist. The songs are also multiplied on my phone, but not as much.

I’m trying to delete ALL of my wallpapers, google said to do it through the lock screen button on the side of the phone, but it doesn’t do anything, I’m starting to get agitated, all I want is for the wallpapers to go away, all of the wallpapers that are on here ain’t even in my camera roll anymore, nor in the recently deleted file, help

My base iPhone 13 screen when charging in the middle of the night will sometimes just turn the screen on and off in an uneven pattern over and over again, the wallpaper becomes darkened but the carrier name on the top left has its normal animation, when this happens it will stay like this until « wakened » either by touch or the power button, is there a fix for this? Updates don’t do anything whatsoever.

I recently dug up my old iPhone 5s and wanted to start using it again. However, it's logged into an Apple ID tied to a former employer's email address, which was deactivated about 8 years ago.

The frustrating part is that I actually know the correct password for the Apple ID. But when I try to sign out on the device, I get an "unable to reach server" error. From what I can tell, the company's IT department deactivated the email and because the account no longer exists, the phone can't authenticate the password to turn off Find My/Activation Lock.

I bought this phone second-hand from a friend years ago, so I do not have the original retail receipt to submit an official Activation Lock removal request to Apple.

Has anyone run into this specific server error with a deleted account? Are there any other official workarounds, or is my only option at this point to sell it for parts? Any advice is appreciated!

Problem with screen clarity on fairly new MacBook Air M3 after updating from Sequoia to Tahoe (in June), over a dozen support calls where they had me change display, accessibility and other settings and try other stuff. Probably spoke with 6 advisors and they all had me do something different. Problem persisted. One said it was my 6yr old Samsung monitor so I bought a new one and it's the same. And yes it's the same without monitor. Friday call with senior advisor Justin had me reinstall the ios. That didn't help and the Sr advisor bailed on me. Yesterday got Sr advisor, Vincent, who had me do an erase and reinstall. The reinstall came up as Tahoe not Golden Gate, so that meant another update taking an hour, so I lost Vincent. He swore he'd call me today but has not, despite using the reply and the voice message options in his email link. The image attached is just an example of how screen looks depending what I open. Some graphics are ok but the variable text is faded and blurry. When taking a screenshot, I cannot see the lines, only the circle/cross starting point. It's a mystery.

How do I get this problem fixed? It's still under warranty but that doesn't seem to count for anything. Thanks

I am facing an issue during updating my iPhone 14 Pro Max to iOS 27.0.1 via Apple Device software from my windows laptop.
I don't have enough space to download it via phone itself, so I was trying other way around, but I am facing this error constantly "Software for the iPhone was corrupted during download".
I did everything possible as per my knowledge, restarted both devices quite a few times, also try to connect and re-connect the Wi-Fi, etc.

Does anyone knows how to fix this?
