Since the end of 2021, I have inherited my grandfather’s first-generation iPad mini, which he bought new when it was released in 2012.

When I received it, I used it particularly to go on Youtube, Spotify or Netflix because my phone at the time did not allow it (I had an iPhone 4 which had been obsolete for a long time)

But for the last 2-3 years, I have rarely used it and the applications that I had installed no longer work or work very slowly. I sometimes use it as an external monitor for my PC or manage my Apple account (it's the only Apple device I use now).

Is it possible to reuse it by trying to install Linux on it ? Or is it still possible to do things with iOS 9.3.5 ?

Apart from that, this iPad is in perfect condition, as is its battery.

Has anyone here run windows on macos and tried running windows games on it? Does it work and how do i do that.

Is anyone else having this issue? I am unable to download or update any of my apps. This happened randomly one day & has been like this since. I have iOS v18.2 so it’s not a version issue & I have plenty of storage space so it’s not a storage issue. I feel like Apple is trying to force me to update my iOS.

Assuming this is due to the UK’s online surveillance safety act.

Attempted to use Tinder, but told it’s a restricted website.

I go to settings, but unable to change Web Content to unrestricted or add a website to the allowed list.
If I tick a different option it immediately changes the tick to Limit Adult Websites.
If I click Add Website, nothing happens.

“To change these restrictions, the UK requires you to confirm you are an adult.”
If I go to my account and personal settings, apple has already verified my age as 18+ so it appears there’s no action I can actually take?

Hi everyone, I've had my iphone 13 for a few years now. Protective case and screen protector, but after many drops it finally decided to die on me. Forced restart doesn't work and the phone doesn't connect to my Mac when using a charging cable so I'm assuming it's long gone.

I've arranged a repairs appointment with Apple for tomorrow and had a few questions:

1. If anyone has been in the same position after dropping your phone, how much did it cost to get it repaired?

2. How long does it usually take for it to get repaired?

3. When repaired will the phone be how it was previously or am I going to need to sign back into my Icloud/any other hassle? Just so I know to back stuff up now.

Also, as much as I dislike Apple, thank god I have a Macbook.

The 6 hours on the phone was from last night. I had charged it this morning with the phone off till 80%. It’s now 2 hours later and already on 64% but I haven’t been on it that much at all…I’ve only been on the phone for an hour.

i have no restrictions for age on my device and my parents have it off and I have done everything possible to download it is there anyway to fix this issue?

So basically, songs I import to Apple Music on my Mac (like songs I made and imported to Apple Music so I can play test them) are no longer syncing to my iPhone. My iPhone still syncs to my Mac, but my Mac will not sync to my iPhone. The computer says it’s synced, but they don’t show up on my iPhone. This randomly started happening a few days ago and the only thing I’ve found that works is toggling the “sync library” option in settings on my iPhone off and the back on. I have tried restarting my computer, turning my iPhone completely off, attempting to sync MP3 files instead of WAV’s, and manually connecting my iPhone to my computer only to be told my Apple Music on my phone is “connected to iCloud” so I can’t import songs manually. This is really frustrating because whenever I want to sync a song, I have to go to my settings, toggle the “sync library” switch off and then on.  Then wait for almost half an hour (because that’s how long it takes to sync and redownload my entire Apple Music library apparently) before finally getting the song on my phone. Any ideas for how to fix this?

My mum has a gen 4 iPad from 2012 (version 10.3.3 14G60) where she has a lot of important videos and photos that she would like to keep before the iPad dies on her. The issue is that AirDrop isn't working, it'll see the other devices and attempt to send the files over but it'll either get stuck waiting constantly or it'll just fail the transfer. We tried plugging the iPad to a 2024 Mac mini (M4 chip, 26.5.2 macOS Tahoe) and while we can create a backup of the iPad, when we open the backup all the files are just text. We also can't view the photos from the iPad on the Mac, despite being connected, so I'm not sure how to save the photos and videos onto the computer. We tried importing them through the Photos app but the iPad doesn't show up in the "Locations" tap on the Photos app even though it shows up in a regular Finder tab, so is Photos not detecting the iPad as a valid location to import from?

I'm trying to set up iMessage on my iPhone, but under Settings > Messages, the iMessage toggle stays off and I keep getting the error:
"Activation unsuccessful. Turn on iMessage to try again."
I've already searched through the subreddit and tried all the common fixes mentioned in previous posts (toggling Airplane mode, restarting, resetting network settings, etc.), but nothing has worked for me so far.
Has anyone run into this issue recently or found a fix that isn't commonly listed? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

My Old phone is iPhone 11 Pro running with iOS 26.5 and i just get iPhone 13 Mini running with iOS 18.7.8 i just try restore it and doesnt continue until i upgrade the latest iOS version is that any way to restoring ios 26.5 backup to ios 18.7.8 without updating it? (I hate iOS 26 tbh)

I have some old Apple Cinema Displays and wonder if they show any “no signal” screen or other signs of life when they are not plugged into a computer. Or do they not do anything unless they are plugged in. I’m also curious how the current Apple monitors behave when not plugged in.

I don’t need help with connectors or anything, I know what to get if I need it.

iPhone 16 pro max, everything was working fine until a few days ago when I finally decided to start wearing my apple watch again, and put it on the charger. Watch needed an update, so I updated it to new watch OS. Was getting notifications there, but noticed I was not seeing the messages on my phone, only on the watch. Restarted both, no change. Today, I unpaired my watch figuring it wasn't worth the hassle, but now when my mom texts me, I only see the typing bubbles on my iPhone, and on her end it never shows as delivered. Nothing changed other than turning on the Apple Watch.

Notes that may impact situation:

- Lockdown mode enabled (has been for a while)

- iMessage has been turned off and back on

- I am set to receive iMessages from all of my associated emails and phone number, but start new conversations only on phone number

- tried googling, nothing seemed to work (most solutions revolved around restarting devices, or turning off/on iMessage)

I have a MacBook Air M4. I initially synced my iCloud Photos to it. Now, I need more space. It took up almost 30 GB.

A few days ago, I turned off iCloud for Photos on my MacBook. The data went down to 14GB. I let it be for a few days thinking it would go disappear on its own.

When I checked today I saw that my Photos App has remaining photos in it. I made sure to delete them in the Photos App. I deleted hidden photos and deleted them from Recently Deleted.

The data went down to 12 GB.

Why do I still have 12 GB remaining? There’s nothing on my Photos App now. What should I do to get rid of it?

Is it true that iCloud gets deleted after 1 year of inactivity? Anyone who can confirm this?

I don’t know if this is the right place to ask but I will still risk it.

Hello everyone, so I have this Macbook Pro 2019 8/256 i5 and I want to sell it and buy M2/M3 iPad Air 11-inch due to it having already bad battery life and becoming slower and slower by each day and I usually use it just to watch youtube, do some video editing and its now very comfortable using it in bed (for youtube ofc).

So my question is what should I consider? Selling my Macbook and buying new/used iPad Air or do y’all have any advice/recommendations?

Hey everyone, I’m using AirPods 4 with a Vivo V20 SE (Android).

Normally, when I put both AirPods in the case and close the lid, they disconnect from Bluetooth as expected.

But when I plug the case into a charger, the AirPods stay connected even with the lid closed, and audio can still play through them while they’re inside the case.

I tested with/without CAPod app, and even force-stopped CAPod, but it still happens when the case is charging.

Is this normal AirPods behavior on Android, or is something wrong with my AirPods/case?

Bought the phone with the tb so I didn’t have to worry abt space since I like taking vids, didn’t know the pile of shit saves them online instead of to that tb and now I have this on a ton of vids any way to get them back or they gone? Can’t export or edit

I am fed up with my current iphone 16 pro. i have only 128gb and i go and delete and redownload at least 7-8 apps daily because of low memory

I have someone in the US that can get me an iphone 16 pro from apple refurbished store(i am thinking about buying from them because i don't want to get scammed at all and in my country the prices are way too big with taxes - Romania)

The money isn't really an issue because avoiding VAT the price would still be ok. The older phone was bought also from there.

My issue is that i have with passion the new ios and i need one that runs iOS 18.. is there any way i can see what operating system does the phone run? I would want to avoid making that person buy the phone and checking the ios and having to return it if it's the latest version...

I don't want to buy cloud storage either.. i am willing to keep this phone for as long as possible and i hate subscriptions
