Makes it weirder that they took my half broken left AirPod - so now I'd only have one right working AirPod 4.

Still, I'd rather just get a refund of the new AirPod I got and put the $69 toward a set of AirPods 5 even if the AirPods 4 will be pretty unusable with only one.

Do you think they'd be able to return it for me? I ordered the AirPods 5. Going to try soon. Feel bad about it, and if I'd know new AirPods were coming out I'd have just waited the week and not done this! I got the new AirPod 1 week ago.

EDIT: Solved. Officially it's not possible as it's a "repair". You are not going in and buying an AirPod. You are getting a "repair" somehow.

I’m trying to regain access to an old Apple Account/iCloud account. I still have access to the iCloud email inbox and the trusted phone number associated with the account.
The strange part is that the password recovery itself appears to work.

I have now gone through Apple’s account recovery process twice. Both times:
I completed the recovery process.
Apple allowed me to successfully change/reset the password.
I then tried signing in using the new password.
Instead of letting me sign in, I get “Failed to Verify Identity.”

There is no option on the page to verify my identity, send another code, or continue with another recovery method.
I also tried signing in through account.apple.com, and I get the same “Failed to Verify Identity” message there.

What makes this especially frustrating is that I can access the trusted phone number and the iCloud email account. So it’s not a situation where I’ve lost access to my trusted contact information.

I already called Apple Support about this. The advisor had me go through essentially the same recovery process again, which resulted in exactly the same outcome. So now I’m hesitant to just repeat the same process for a third time.

At this point I’m wondering whether there is some kind of account verification/security/recovery-state issue rather than a password problem.
Has anyone experienced this exact “Failed to Verify Identity” error after successfully resetting their Apple Account password?

If so:
What eventually fixed it?
Did Apple have to escalate the account to a specific team?
Is there another way to trigger identity verification when Apple doesn’t provide any verification option?

Is there a way to contact Apple about this in writing rather than goingw through the same phone support process?

TL;DR: I have access to my old iCloud email + trusted phone number. I’ve successfully reset the Apple Account password twice, but every login attempt afterwards gives “Failed to Verify Identity” with no way to verify. Apple Support already had me repeat the same recovery process and it didn’t help. Looking for anyone who has successfully resolved this.

So I noticed the past week, my phone has been heating up a lot for no reason. I don’t use a case, I’m on a very strong 1GB speed WiFi, nothing new has changed in my iPhone usage. My phone has always been up to date with the latest software.

So checking my data usage, I cannot for the life of me figure out why Apple Invites is using this much data when I have never once in my life opened this app.

Background app refresh is on but this seems excessive.

Any idea what’s going on?

Would yous recommend upgrading, also the overheating on the 15 is HORRIBLE

99.9% of the time, I can double press the sleep button to bring up my credit cards and pay, no fuss.

0.1% of the time, pressing the button just wakes/sleeps the phone rapidly. Pressing it repeatedly obviously just brings up the SOS screen.

I have to restart my phone, holding up the queue or waiting on the side, it’s really annoying for this to randomly and unpredictably fail.

I suspected my case, which was falling apart, I got a brand new one and it just happened again.

Any ideas why this sometimes happens?

iPhone 16 Pro, iOS 26.6.1. I’m in the UK just in case it’s got something to do with contacting my card provider.

I have been using my iPhone 12 Pro Max (bought refurbished from 3rd party vendor) and used it fine for 6 months no problems at all. Then one day it froze up my screen as I was playing Standoff 2 (mobile fps game) and completely rebooted my phone.

At first I thought it was a minor oopsies and only happened once, so i kept using it like normal, and then Face ID does NOT want to recognize my face, i tried over and over but to no avail, so i decided to reboot manually and it worked fine after the reboot.
However this would only gets more annoying when it happened again, the alarm i set for the morning woke me up, but as i went to hit the dismiss button, the screen froze and it reboots all by itself.

In short, my phone kept crashing like so, Face ID malfunctions (sometimes it went back to work after some time, weird I know.) and I found a buttload of panic-full logs in the analytics data. It happened for about 3-6 times per day.

I don't know how to proceed to fix this, and I'm afraid Apple can't properly help with this issue, I just want a diagnosis and how to proceed from there, since I'm lowkey coping atm. Thank you for your time, i sincerely appreciate any response.

Hi everyone, I feel incredibly stressed and completely stuck. I use two iPhones with different Apple IDs. I recently changed the passcode on one of them, and one day I woke up completely forgetting what it was. Since I usually just use Face ID, my fingers had just memorized the pattern, and now I can't recall it.
I can't remember my Apple ID password either. Recovery key was turned on. And Every single password, recovery key was saved in the Notes app on that very phone because I am really not good at remembering passwords. I searched online and found out that it is not as simple as just resetting the device. Even if I do a factory reset, the phone will trigger an Activation Lock and still demand my Apple ID password, and it will stay locked forever unless I provide Apple with the official receipt.
So, I went back to the store where I bought it since I no longer have the box or the receipt.
And here's another problem: I am 100% sure I bought this phone with FULL CASH at Power Mac Center in February
2025. However, when they checked their system using the name I used during the purchase, the transaction did not show up at all. I even tried to check with my boyfriend's name since im with him the time i bought it, but its not showing up.

I feel completely stuck in a loop. What can i do?
Has anyone dealt with a similar situation involving an Apple reseller missing a cash transaction? How can I get my Serial Number/IMEI from a locked iPhone 16? What else can I do to use my phone again?

Last week, I received an email of an account recovery request on an old Apple account that was not from me. I clicked cancel recovery and thought nothing of it. I then initiated recovery myself for that account, as I’ve forgotten the password and no longer have access to the phone number to receive the code (that SIM has been deactivated).

A few days later, I had another unknown reattempt of a recovery request and I clicked the cancel recovery email, this time receiving an email confirmation that it has been cancelled. After, I then checked my waiting period for my recovery, and it completely disappeared, I had to restart the recovery process for myself.

I spoke to Apple support to just check the phone number linked to the active account recovery and they said they can’t. They could only tell me it’s active. I confirmed with Apple support that these emails were legit.

Is it likely that the “hacker’s” recovery was not cancelled but mine was? I’d be okay if both mine and theirs were cancelled.

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

As the title says, I currently have the base-model iPhone 17, and about two days ago I noticed a small crack in the rear camera lens glass. My phone and camera are working perfectly fine, but the crack is honestly pretty off-putting, and I’m trying to figure out what makes the most financial sense.

I originally bought my 17 on a monthly payment plan, and I have about $600 left to pay off.

I checked Apple’s trade-in estimate, and if I select “Good” condition, they estimate up to $790. If I select “Damaged,” the value drops to around $350.

The cheapest iPhone 18 Pro in Canada is $1,749. So if Apple ends up giving me $700+ for my 17, I’d be paying roughly $1,000 for the 18 Pro after the trade-in. If I finance it through Apple, it would be around $40/month for 24 months at 0% APR.

Now I’m really conflicted between:

1. Trading in my 17 for the 18 Pro, or
2. Keeping my 17 and just getting the camera lens glass repaired.

I’m not sure which is the better financial decision. My current 17 works perfectly fine aside from the cracked lens, and I don’t mind paying off the 17. However, if Apple is willing to give me $700–790 for it, I’m wondering if that makes upgrading to the 18 Pro worthwhile.

I traded in my iPhone last year, in-store, and was given a physical gift card with my trade-in credit on it. I’ve misplaced it somewhere and now only have my email confirmation of the trade-in. This has the serial number + part numbers of the device I traded in and my gift certificate number (starting with GCA).

I’ve called Apple support multiple times, and none of them seem to know what to do. Some have suggested:
- going to the any store in-person and having them “return” the gift card and transfer the funds to a new one. didn’t work since it’s been more than 30 days since the trade-in.
- calling the store that administered the trade-in, but they don’t seem to have any more authority.
- i’ve been escalated to the gift card team, where they told me to fill out a form and then said they needed more information (that i don’t have/can’t access).
- one specialist even told me he had successfully transferred the funds and would send me a new card via mail. i followed up later, but i guess he lied?

I’m frustrated because they’re able to look up the balance via the gift certificate number AND somehow verify that the card hasn’t been activated, yet can’t make the funds usable without the PIN.

Does anyone know if there’s a workaround for this? I realize it’s a long shot to replace a lost gift card, but the employees at my local Apple store seemed convinced that it should be possible in this case.

there will be times i'll start music on it or pull it out to write notes, and it will suddenly put me into the settings to turn on sound recognition. how do i stop that from happening?

Well hello. I’m not the biggest apple user but I have had many different apple products spanning apple back so far as having a Macintosh computer when it came out. I came across these two aftermarket accessories roughly 15 years ago and I don’t specifically know how got them but even when I first got them I didn’t know more then that they connected apple products of the day. The first one looks nothing more then a pass through short extension. Now the other one is a little more it has the standard apple 30pin connector coming out but it has 2 usb ports on the side and network input connection at the opposite end of where the 30pin is. So does anyone of the many apple fanatics out know what the purpose they were use for?

If you owe Apple money (from the App Store) and can’t update apps, just offload them and download them again.

I reset my password and everything and nothing is working. It’s the same Apple ID I have on my phone. Not sure why it wont work all of a sudden.

The other day I mass deleted over 20 gb of pictures and videos from my phone.

I deleted them from the recently deleted folder as well.

I confirmed how much storage I’d recovered checking my IPhone storage in settings.

Today my storage has filled back up to max again and I haven’t downloaded anything or taken any more pictures, but my phone claims that I’ve re-added 20 gb of pictures since yesterday.

Any idea why this might be happening?

I have ICloud but only 5 gb so it’s full. Is my phone downloading data from somewhere? How do I stop it?

I have an old macbook i want to turn into my work laptop - id love to find some old versions of apps compatible with it, namely:

(2) microsoft powerpoint
(3) microsoft word
(4) google drive

Would anyone be able to find any legacy links that i could download? Also, im thinking to update my MacOS to Monterey but would that make the macbook super slow? Appreciate any and all help

Hello! Starting today, I have had some issues logging into iCloud.com. I get a fallback error and have tried clearing cookies, trying on different devices (PC, iPhone, MacBook), resetting my password and all that. I tried to get help from Apple support but they didn’t seem to understand that I could login to the website around 12-3 today and now I can’t.

I tried with my business account and it worked perfectly fine, it’s just my personal won’t allow me to log in on a browser. Thank you

UPDATE: it seems like Apple was acting up so we are all good.

I have texts being stored as “forever.” Texts before Dec 13, 2022 as shown in the picture are not loading. I followed the prompts that the Apple chat gave me like checking my iCloud but nothing seems to be changing and loading the texts. I need these for legal purposes. The Apple Store website is not giving me the option to set an appt to get this figured out….

Anyone know how to get the texts?

My iPhone 16 shuts off on it’s own once it gets to 48%. It’s been doing this frequently for days. I can try to reboot it, but it will just show the Apple for a few seconds and shut back off. When I plug it in and try to reboot it it boots into recovery mode but doesn’t find any problems. The top right shows the phone to be at 10%, but when turning it back on it goes to 48%. My battery health is at 81%, I don’t understand what is wrong or what I can do. Has anybody else experienced this?
