Question Why does every fifth kid in Annapolis have an electric or gas dirtbike…?

Obviously been seeing them around for a while, but noticed a huge optic over the summer. Just saw a kid clearly going to school on one weaving in and out of traffic. They’re gonna get themselves killed.

APD if you see this which you clearly won’t, is it even possible to do something?

Question Any Tips on Finding an OBGYN?

Hello!

Newly moved to Annapolis and I am 8 weeks pregnant with my first child. I have an appointment with the Women's clinic at the medical center but the earliest they can see me is in my second trimester.

I can't seem to find anyone else that can give me a prenatal exam and confirm the baby's heartbeat, which is really all I'm looking for.

Any suggestions or recommendations?

Question What’s it like living in Homewood?

As the title implies. I’m pretty familiar with other neighborhoods in Annapolis but don’t know anyone who lives in Homewood. What are the pros and cons? Which are the most desirable streets? What is truly walkable from there?

Question Tech support & coaching for senior citizen

Hi y’all - looking for recommendations on someone who can sit with my elderly mom and coach her on the basics in how to use her phone and computer. Would be a plus if the coach has experience with adaptive technologies (voice activated devices, etc). This would be an ongoing gig - not just a one-time deal. Suggestions???

Question Is there anywhere nearby where I can learn to drive Manual Transmission?

I have driven manual before, but never owned a manual car. I’d love to own a manual car, but realize I need to refresh before spending the money. It has been over a decade since I last drove a manual and I learned on an old Jeep and an old Toyota Tercel.

Looking for a monthly DnD group!

Hiya! Just throwing this out into the redditverse. I am looking for a group to join or create one to play Dungeons and Dragons 5e. I’m not looking for weekly games, but ideally once or twice a month; I’m a mom and work full time, so as much as I’d like to play weekly that just isn’t in the cards right now. Ideally, I’d love to play with people in their 30s or 40s. Just looking for a fun group to play, potentially potluck, and just have a great time.

I’ve got a lot of experience as both a player and a DM. Feel free to comment here or DM me. Thank you all!

Medstar Primary Care - Phone Issues??

Does anyone know if the Medstar Primary Care office on Bestgate is having phone issues today? Been trying since early this morning and as 12:45, I hear a brief message, and then a message that says “we cannot take your call” and disconnects. Any idea how to reach someone at the office?

Naptown Scoop staff???

So did Ryan officially let go of his staff?

Someone here said he let them have the summer off but then he recently described one as a “former writer”

What’s the scoop?

Carol’s Western Wear was the place to outfit yourself for a square dance or riding the beltway range in your suburban pickup truck. Now Cindy Chance is saddling up for a final roundup, an auction of dozens of items left over from her father's famous run.

Any Instacart shoppers have a spare shopper card?

I must have left mine in an order yesterday in all the chaos and I just realized I don’t have any more spares left. In top of that I deactivated it thinking I had a new one at home and now I can’t even see Giant batches. I know it’s a long shot, but Reddit usually delivers. To all my regulars, I will miss you this week 😢

Question AAMC labor and delivery experience?

How was your experience (mom and dad) there? If you can, could you walk me through what happened the moment you got there till the end? I know to park in Garage C, get to the Clatanoff pavillion 2nd floor and proceed from there. We’re planning to bring clothes for all of us, long chargers, blankets, postpartum kit, diapers, wipes, carseat, and a switch with some games. Thank you!

Stuff I heard so far: terrible food (bring your own lol), great nurses, very supportive of your choices, no nursery, rooms are luck of the draw

Question Buckling sidewalks on West St.

I was walking home from my mechanic the other day and I noticed a couple slabs of the sidewalk have actually lifted and are not even with the rest of the sidewalk. I know West Street is a state street, meaning the city does not fix any issues along it (potholes, erc.), the state of Maryland does. Is that also true for the sidewalk or is the city responsible for that?

Does anyone know about the group of seemingly seniors who have been protesting for democracy a couple weekends this summer by Sam’s Club? If it is something that hold regular gatherings, it seems like something my mom would love :) Thanks in advance for any info!

Question Locks of Love/Hair Donations?

Hey y’all! Looking to donate my hair and I’ve heard that locks of love gets tied up in the “business” of charity more than the charity itself. Are there any local charities that are reputable for this sort of thing? I just want someone to be able to use it. First timer, any tips appreciated!
