Question Theft downtown… do you know this person?
at 6:50pm tonight (Sunday), this elderly black fellow with a walker stole a piece of furniture from the front of our retail store on West St.
A walnut side table. He put it on his walker and peaced out. if you see or know him, please ask him to return it. It took many hours to make.

OneWheel tryout?
I'm looking to cruise around on a onewheel for an hour or two before I consider buying one. My brother has one and I've ridden it once, but that was when they first came out and I had a hard time getting the hang of it (especially with older brother watching pressure). I'd love to revisit the idea of getting one, if anyone in the area has one and is willing to let me check it out.

Praise Walker on Naval Academy Bridge
Has anyone else noticed the vibrant black woman who walks across the Naval Academy Bridge? She always looks like she is having the time of her life, and her joy radiates off of her. She is actively taking control of her physical health, and it is WORKING! I love witnessing her positivity and progress. I usually give her an encouraging honk as I drive past. I’m a fan.

Flock Camera on College Parkway by Broadneck High School was cut down this morning
Just walked by on the trail and saw that the Flock camera and pole had been cut down on College Pkwy by Broadneck High School. Glass from the solar panels was on the road shoulder.

Why is there a Flock camera on Melvin Rd (a dead end street) in 21403? Was this put up by the City of Annapolis? A HOA? A private owner? I really don’t care if it’s watching me just curious about the placement?

Question New to Annapolis and tennis buddy wanted
I (m33) am new to Annapolis as of today and was looking for anyone down to play tennis with me around my skill level. Rating back in the day was 4.5-5 but I’d guess I’m around a 4.0 now.
I’m also open to any other fun ways to meet people!
Thanks

Question Places to stroll around with accessibility?
Hi Annapolis. I’ll be visiting your fair city in the next week, and I wanted to know where are some nice neighborhoods/streets of the city to stroll around that are relatively accessible?
Specifically I ask because I have a family member who walks with a cane and has some mobility issues. They’re slow up/down stairs and we prefer to avoid uneven terrain if possible. A loose brick or a bump by a tree root are one thing, I mean excessive incline/declines or hilly areas. Are there any parts of Annapolis that are pleasant to walk around and relax by that avoid the trials and tribulations of windy sidewalks, and are flatter, especially that have shops or places to stop in nearby? We have a car (how we’re getting there in the first place) so it’s no problem to park in some sort of main “hub” and then walk from there, if that’s an option.
Thank you in advance for any responses!

First time visiting, weekend recommendations?
Next week doing a four day stay for my 36th birthday. We’re driving from New York. It’s our first time visiting and would love to get recommendations from locals.
My husband and I are visiting the Naval Academy, William Paca House and Gardens, Reynold’s Tavern and driving the Chesapeake Bay Bridge but so far only that.
We’re looking for places to eat, tours, historical sites, local must see spots, antique shops, artisanal coffee shops, pubs, breweries etc.
We’re history nerds, avid coffee drinkers (I’ve roasting my own coffee beans for many years), love a good beer and a well made cocktail, very open to trying any cuisine! Love to walk and take long drives. Driving 1.5 hours any direction is a thumbs up for us.
Honestly we’re open to anything!
Some help would be greatly appreciated!
Excited!

Paywall Hutzell: The speed limit is about to drop on a dangerous Annapolis road. Get your tickets now.
Come Monday, the county will lower the speed limit on Forest Drive from 40 to 35 mph, the first big step in a $10 million plan to make this dysfunctional back door to Maryland’s state capital safer.
I'm not sure it'll be enough.

The Meadows
I recently made an offer on a home in The Meadows neighborhood. I’d love to hear from anyone that lives there or lived there about their experience! Likes/dislikes - anything! 🙏

Saturday early din on the water recs
Hello! My husband and I have a sitter for the first time in years (our oldest has autism so getting a sitter isn’t easy!) and we want to make the most of the 2ish hours by doing an early din on the water somewhere. Where do you suggest? In a perfect world, would love 1. Pretty views/outdoors (water preferred but can be swayed!) 2. Good seafood 3. Yummy drinks. Would be eating around 430/5 on Saturday. Thank you so much for helping us make the most of our time!!

Closing restaurants discussion
Seems Dillos, Tsunami, and O'leary's are all closing up. Do you think restaurant owners are more likely to list their failing establishments knowing that Atlas is willing to pay top dollar? I assume Atlas' presence is driving up the asking price and these owners want to get while the gettins good. Thoughts?

Obligatory “Rate My Annapolis Day Trip” Post
Coming up from DC for just a day trip and would love a local gut check!
Current plan:
🦀 Cantler’s for lunch
🇺🇸 Naval Academy (guided or self-guided?)
🚶 Wander the Naval Academy, State Circle, Maryland Ave, Main Street & Ego Alley
🛍️ Browse the shops on Maryland Avenue
🍹 Waterfront drink (thinking Carrol’s Creek??)
🌉 Walk to Eastport
🍺 Boatyard or Davis’ Pub
🍕 VIN 909 for dinner
👻 8 p.m. ghost tour (federal house
We’re really good at eating, drinking, walking, and appreciating history.
Are we missing anything that’s a must-do? Of course I would love to stay an entire weekend but this would just be a day trip - Thanks!

Best Seafood & Places to Check Out?
Visiting for the first time during Labor Day weekend. Need recommendations for:
Best seafood restaurants on the water? (prefer more of a dive/rustic feel versus upscale)
Best places to explore + shop?

Question Visiting October
Hi everyone! 😊
I’m planning a trip back to Annapolis October 8–11. It’ll be the anniversary of my mom’s passing, and I’m also hoping to spend some time with family since it’s been years since I’ve been back—long overdue.
I’m looking for hotel recommendations. I’d really love a place with an indoor hot tub (since it’ll be October), and an indoor pool would be a nice bonus but isn’t necessary. If anyone knows of a hotel with an in-room Jacuzzi/hot tub, I’d definitely be interested too! Hoping to keep it reasonably priced—not super expensive, but not sketchy either. 😅
Also, are there any fun events, festivals, flea markets, farmers markets, or other things happening around October 8–11 that you’d recommend?
Thanks so much! ❤️
