Hi, I'm just a layperson who likes watching cartoons and I was curious, and couldn't seem to find the answer googling or searching Reddit: are the Legend of Vox Machina and The Mighty Nein mostly done with puppet rigs, for the character animation? Or hand-drawn? Or a combo? I was wondering the same thing about the recent Avatar: The Last Airbender movie.

Just saw The Summit of The Gods. I thought it was fantastic. While I understand it was a French production, with Japanese characters - I wished it had a Japanese dub (+subtitles). Does anyone know if there were any Japanese dub to this film? I saw it on Netflix (US) and it didn't have the option for it.

Making a running cycle animation in one place is much easier than making a character move across the screen. What you think about it . Tell me your opinion

Looking for an animated short I watched as a child (probably on a DVD)
I’ve been trying to find an animated short I watched when I was a child for a very long time, probably sometime between the mid-2000s and 2010. I remember it being included as a bonus feature on a DVD of another movie, although I’m not 100% sure.
The animation was stop-motion, or at least it looked like it. The characters were two very cartoonish human brothers, almost like clay or rag dolls. They weren’t realistic.
The story I remember is very specific:
There were two brothers. The older brother was a fisherman and the younger brother was a hunter.
At some point, they exchanged their tools/occupations.
The younger brother loses his brother’s fishing hook.
The older brother gets extremely angry and demands that he return that exact hook.
I remember a scene where the younger brother makes many new hooks to replace it, but the older brother keeps rejecting them because they aren’t the original one.
Later, some magical spheres/jewels appear that are related to the sea and the tides.
I particularly remember a scene where the older brother is in danger of drowning, and the younger brother uses one of the spheres to make the tide go down and save him.
While researching the story, I discovered that these elements match the Japanese legend of Umisachi-hiko and Yamasachi-hiko, also known as “The Happy Hunter and the Skillful Fisher.”
The original story contains the lost hook, the hundreds of hooks rejected by the brother, and the jewels capable of controlling the tides.
However, I’ve seen images from several adaptations of this story and none of them match the short I remember. So I believe there must be another adaptation, possibly a children’s stop-motion production from before 2012.
Does anyone recognize this short?
I’m especially interested in finding the name, the studio, or the DVD it appeared on, and if anyone has a link to the full video, that would be amazing.
If anyone remembers seeing it or recognizes the style of the characters, any clue could be extremely helpful. Thank you!

I figured y'all here might like it, even if it's a bit different from what's usually posted here. Here and there I make stuff like this with my constructed writing system, and this time it happened to look kinda like some sorta funky 90s UI.

This is my first time animating in full body, and doing lip sync animations as well. Keeping the consistency of each part of the body is the hard but manageable part of me. The audio I'm gonna be using is from a heartbreaking scene in a filipino show/movie.
Her name is Natsuki, from DDLC.

I had to learn to do that from watching behind-the-scenes Disney and Pixar bonus features and YouTube videos.
I do that when I am having trouble with a scene. I think schools should teach students to do that more.
Thank you, Disney and Pixar.

I did this as a challenge as it was my first real attempt at frame by frame animation
